jimmynick Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The tank droid looks much better than I had expected, and the Mandalorian speeder looks great as well. I'm not so fond of Maul - his robotic legs look a little funny (perhaps he's too tall?). Poggle is great and I like Dooku's new haircut. I'm glad we have a good-looking Yoda for once, as well. New Padme is beautiful, and the RGS is fairly attractive for the vehicle, not just the figures. Quote
strangely Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I said it because of some similarities I saw: - She has a doublebladed green lightsaber, like Kira. - She is wearing an outfit you can unlock at level 30 for Kira. - She seems to have a scar on the left of her face, like Kira. None of it is confirmed, but as the Defender was rumoured, a ship she co-pilots, it could be possible. Which one do you think is Kira? The one holding the double green lightsaber is definitely not her as she has green skin and is an alien. Also that's not a scar, it's just a printed indentation representing the cheek. The one to the left of her is Leia, to the left of Leia is Adi and to the left of her is Boba. Quote
wesker Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The Tank Droid looks good, but I wish there were some side shots to get an idea how long it is. The CW release was a bit small compared to the 2005 ROTS one. I am a little concerned about the stability due to the lack of brick pieces in the tail section. Jango looks fantastic though. Very creative using the fire hoses for his blasters. The Mandalorian Speeder looks amazing, as does the Super Commandos and chicken leg Maul. My only complaint is that it should have come with either Bo-Katan or Duchess Satine. The Spider Droid looks good. Similar to the last one, but with a much rounder "head". Despite what Lego says however - the green lightsaber, darker skin tone, purple eyes and white undershirt all point to the Jedi being Stass Allie, not Adi Gallia. The Geonosian playset looks very well designed. Nice play features and detail for the price. Dooku's speeder has to be the best version yet. Dooku himself, Poggle and Yoda all look fantastic! Given that Yoda's head is smaller compared to the CW version, I'm hoping he'll be soft plastic again like the original and not that cheap rubber. The Stealth Fighter looks decent, but I don't think I'll be in a hurry to pick this one up. The AT-TE is an easy pass. Coleman Trevor is nice, but the rest of the figures are forgetable and the AT-TE isn't much different from the last release. The gunship doesn't look a whole lot different from the last one. The new Anakin looks good, although I wish his face was a little more consistant with the ROTS version. Obi-Wan is how I expected him to be, but its good to have him. The real star of the set is Padme. Its good to see she finally has her own face instead of Hermione's and the new bun mold looks fantastic. Next up - Droid Factory and Theed Battle Padme please. Jabba's Sailbarge looks good despite being smaller than the previous version. The nose is still going to take time to get used to. The Weequay and Max Rebo both look very well done and Ree Yees opens up the possibility of a long overdue Mawhonic in the future. My favourite figure without a doubt is the new Slave Leia though. She is well worth the wait. Once again though, I'm hoping Lego hasn't gone overboard with the rubber molds. Ree Yees is probably unavoidable, but Leia and Rebo both better be hard plastic. Nice figure selection in the Advent Calender. I like the updated Scout Trooper. Quote
master3019 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I'm in love with Coleman Trebor. Won't get the AT-TE though, so Coleman Trebor bricklink x2. The Adi Gallia is incredible, as is Poggle the Lesser. I actually don't think i'll be buying too many of these sets, just Bricklinking the figures. Max Rebo looks a little low quality for LEGO, I hope it's just the photos. Ree-Yees is a good figure, although the head proportions are a little off. Quote
djmangunz Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I asked the folks over at FBTB about the mysterious jedi in white pictured on the Yoda exclusive. Here is what Don Solo said: Re: New York Toy Fair 2013 LEGO Exclusives by Solo » Sun Feb 10, 2013 3:26 pm 1. That's Luminara Unduli but we don't know why she's in white. To which I replied:Thanks for taking the time to answer Don. Are you sure that the jedi in white is Luminara Unduli? The figure seems to be lacking the tattoo that Unduli has on her chin. Some folks have been discussing the idea that the figure is a new one from the Yodi Chronicles sets. Something just doesn't seem to add up with the idea that the figure is Unduli. The white robes and lack of chin tattoo make me wonder if it is someone new.... Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The Brick Show has this video that shows more of the inside of the Sail Barge. -Sci Quote
DarthR2-D2 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 That's Kira Karsen, from SWTOR. She goes with the rumoured Defender Her hair is wrong though Quote
Sir von Lego Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted Today, 07:36 PM Hi, can anyone tell me what colour the new battle droid are? Are they the same like in the 8016 Hyena Droid Bomber = dark orange = rocket droids? Or are they in a new colour? greetings Hendrik Quote
kermit Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Is that cannon in the front of the barge in the movie?....I don`t recall seeing it. Quote
Fives Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 For people who are upset about the new Imperial Scout, a way of making it better would be giving it white hands. Although inaccurate, it would balance out the white and the black on the fig. Quote
DarthPotato Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Wow, what great sets! One great thing I noticed is that ALL of the jedi this wave (except for Yoda because he has shorter legs) have leg printing for their robes. Mace's look a little odd with all of that white though. I guess if they printed boots on him it would have made it better but that would have been a lot of leg printing, and he looks alright as he is. The figures in the sail barge also make me really tempted to get it, mainly because of Max Reebo. Also, I'm sort of disappointed the Maul in the Mandalorian Speeder set is his shirtless version. I bought the promotional shirtless Maul a few months ago and made my own cyber Maul so I wished it was his version with a shirt from The Clone Wars. Ah well, I'll still probably pick up that set anyway. Quote
General Magma Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Jek-14's starfighter doesn't seem like such a good set, but those figures do surely seem useful for custom SWTOR figs! Trans blue arm? I don't believe we've seen a transparent minifig part before, besides the head 'n all. Also, I'm just gonna have a guess and say that the Jedi in white is a figure from SWTOR. A Jedi Consular, that is. Quote
kermit Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I wish the cyborg maul had robotic arms as well. He just looks strange with those legs. Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) when are these meant to come out, i might have to stop with the winter wave just to afford these epic sets. The cards say August. True, the hairpiece almost never fits ideally, except in the case of Draco Malfoy himself. But why would you say we don't have different colours? To the best of my knowledge, this is pretty much the only new hairpiece which we will get in almost all colours: Draco has a blonde one, Anakin and Hawkeye and the Iron Man 3 dude all have a colour useful for red-haired people, Bruce Wayne and the Mandarin and several Star Wars characters have a black one, Fenrir Greyback has a dark brown one and count Dooku will be getting what looks like a light grey or white hairpiece. That's pretty much all colours actual human hair has, right? Brown, dark tan, the greys that Dooku doesn´t use are missing but I have a greater problem how they only have black and nougat in production and by buying all the sets we get around five of both those colors. I could use some more in tan. It just looks like everyone is the same guy with a different costume and maybe hair dye which is especially stupid when the only person that the piece really fits to is Jek who is based on a LEGO idea anyway and all the figures actually have much better fitting hair pieces available that don´t get used because they apparently destroyed the Harry Osborne molds after the last Agents wave and that Harry Potter set with Goyle. http://www.bricklink...S&itemYear=2011 I do agree that the hair piece is bieng overused, but the hair color is accurate and the style is better than the standard male headpice that isn't accurate enough. It just looks as inaccurate if not worse IMO. Hi, can anyone tell me what colour the new battle droid are? Are they the same like in the 8016 Hyena Droid Bomber = dark orange = rocket droids? Or are they in a new colour? greetings Hendrik Looks like dark orange, the same as the Hyenas droids. http://www.bricklink...et=68&catType=S I asked the folks over at FBTB about the mysterious jedi in white pictured on the Yoda exclusive. The white robes and lack of chin tattoo make me wonder if it is someone new.... He has no idea who she is and just says that because she looks like Unduli because she has the same skin color and hat. But like everything in Star Wars you get the same stuff in multiple colors and look at what I found: The robes don´t add up exactly but I wouldn´t be surprised when she turns out to be this TOR character, however she is called. They said Kira Carsen on the site but Kira looks like being a human rather than a mirialan. Edited February 10, 2013 by Navy Trooper Fenson Quote
wesker Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Looks like we're officially getting Stass Allie and not Adi Gallia. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 WOW! I cannot wait to get my hands on Stass Allie.... And that Dooku set..... These sets are giving me heart palpitations. Also, I didn't think I would be getting the Republic Gunship, but idk after looking at the video of it, I am really intrigued. I might pick it up once it gets on clearance. Also loving the Coleman Trebor... And Poggle the Lesser.... And Max Rebo.... Quote
strangely Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 It just looks as inaccurate if not worse IMO. Agreed. I've always wondered why they don't bother to make a hairpiece for the padawan's, they all have the same hairstyle after all. I realize the braid will be difficult, but Lego has worked wonders in the past. Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Yes! Thank god I was wrong - sorry for ranting earlier. Max Rebo does have blue hands - awesome. Now to rant a bit more, I don't like Stass Allie's blue eyes. LEGO did colored eyes in Indiana Jones and admitted it did not turn out well. Now they do it again, but frame them with black which only makes them bigger. I understand using white eyes for zombies but that's it. This makes Alie's generally very well made figure look a bit ... well Zombified :( Quote
lefty Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) I am very very excited for this next wave of minifigs in hard plastic packing peanuts! Nearly every set has something awesome in it, I'm especially excited for the Jabba's sail barge, I'll get it to go along with the palace I have and rancor pit I'm hoping to get. A weequay! And Gran! I've been hoping for those for years. Finally getting some of the basic thuggy aliens. I'm also confused by the E-wing, is that a TOR set? Edited February 10, 2013 by lefty Quote
darththeling Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Loving the AT-TE, regretted not getting the last one... was expecting yellow windows for some reason. http://cdn.toyark.co..._1360502295.jpg Max Rebo's piano thing! Outstanding. Apparently it's called a nalargon. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nalargon http://cdn.toyark.co..._1360502295.jpg Padme is looking particularly voluptuous... for a Lego figure! That hairpiece with the bun is incredible. http://cdn.toyark.co..._1360502295.jpg Edited February 10, 2013 by darththeling Quote
The Legonater Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Max Rebo's piano thing! Outstanding. http://cdn.toyark.co..._1360502295.jpg Of course, that's what that is! I'd been racking my brain trying to figure out if it was Jabba's throne or what. Quote

Artanis I Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 4 sets are a given... and a few more minifigs to BL...
