legocaptainrexfan Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 £200 for a bunch of Ewok's, damn, i'd rather have a Gungan village than a Ewok one. a gungun city would be awsome we can finally get a boss nasa Quote
mpaisana Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 And the link to the confirmation of this? I'm actually very happy to hear about an Ewok village, lego is a very inclusive company, giving attention to the even to the galaxy's less enlightened forms of life. Quote
darththeling Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Assuming we get the village I can imagine it won't be a monster huge set... maybe the same ambition as Palpatine's Arrest, was that not an exclusive? Huge in price, not in bricks. And minifig heavy, as per recent trends. There's always a gimmick in these Star Wars Lego sets and a theme of capture and attack/rescue is often employed, so I'd expect to see an area where the Ewoks can put Han and Luke over a fore to prepare to cook/eat them. C3PO sits atop a throne to hover in the air and freak out the little furballs and set their friends loose. I wonder if it will be a flick launch chair! Maybe even the netting will be employed to capture them, a crank raises it from the ground below to the Ewok living area. Maybe a base of 3 trees similar to 7956 but taller and a flat surface connecting those threes to make the play area. It would be amazing if each tree had a very small Ewok dwelling. Depending on how generous TLG is, I intend to MOC away using whatever we get. I would love it if it was anything like this brilliant masterpiece by hohesC. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64115 That really inspires and well responds to misgivings some may have about expanding on their Ewok contingent. Imagine your stormtroopers invading their village? Fun times. Quote

Legoman123 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Hey guys I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought I would post it here, sorry if its the wrong place. I am completely stuck on which lego set to get, its between the millennium falcon and jabbas palace. I would appreciate if someone took the time to tell me which is the better overall set. Thank you ? Edited February 19, 2013 by Legoman123 Quote
Galaxy Explorer Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Darththeling, what you have described strongly reminds me of the Kenner toy from 1983. That was one of my favorite play sets ever, and if we are getting an Ewok Village from LEGO this year, I hope it includes all of those features you mentioned. A LEGO Ewok Village is something I've wanted since the license began. I remember back then thinking how the Pirate rope bridge piece would be useful, as well as the tree stump part used for Wild West. When the Ewok Attack set came out in 2002, I was sure a Village set was right around the corner, but that didn't happen. I hope after fourteen years of anticipation I'm not disappointed. Best case scenario would be a MMV or Diagon Alley- type set with 8-10 minifigs and 1200 or so pieces. I would imagine since most SW sets have a mix of good and bad guys, there might be at least one or two troopers- hopefully no speeder bike this time. I would just as soon leave out the villains and concentrate on the Ewoks. This would be a perfect opportunity for spirit minifigures to be included. Light blue with silver printed highlights would be fine with me. I'll just hope for the best and see what happens. So far it has been a very interesting year! Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Well they are using a translucent blue arm in the star wars theme this year anyway, so force ghosts are a high chance. Quote

I'm actually very happy to hear about an Ewok village, lego is a very inclusive company, giving attention to the even to the galaxy's less enlightened forms of life. That post mentions that the Ewok Village will include a new Logray minifigure, but I see absolutely no reason for that. The last one is only a few years old, and is probably about as detailed as you can get in a Lego minifig. Quote

The last one is only a few years old, and is probably about as detailed as you can get in a Lego minifig. It could be something as simple as a recoloring. The last one looked good but the color wasn't great. Quote
MadMan Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 What's the source for the Ewok Village? Didn't it stem from people on here mistaking a Kashykk set for Endor, and then going on about how they'd like an Ewok Village and would pay up to £200 for one? At what point did people start to take as more than just fantasising? Unless I'm wrong about the original source. Quote

I am completely stuck on which lego set to get, its between the millennium falcon and jabbas palace. I would appreciate if someone took the time to tell me which is the better overall set. Thank you ? You posted this in the wrong topic, so it's the end of the world. Couldn't find the topic directly below this one? No need to be so horribly unwelcoming. He's already apologised if he's posted it in the wrong place, so what's the point of jumping on him for it? You could just as easily answer his question rather than being sarcastic towards him. Lego fans really are nasty sometimes, even though the company is such a friendly one. EDIT: Furthered by your PM to me: You probably won't understand this seeing as how you've only been a member for almost a month, but this forum is a fairly serious one where most of the original members are very unwelcoming to children posting on the forum and changing the atmosphere. There are rules that are to be read and followed upon joining the site, which apparently no one can read. So before you try telling someone what to do, do a little homework buddy and think about what you're saying. Either stop being unpleasant, or just stop posting. There is no room for that on discussion forums. But anyway, get the Falcon. It was released way before the palace, so is more likely to get discontinued soon, and is just generally better value for money. Great figures and build, and an iconic ship, compared to the great figures of the Palace, but a quite simplistic build and lacking the iconic-ness of the Falcon. Lobot Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 ^ 'Sigh' Set #10236 Ewok Village £200 ^ I still can't see how this set will be a must buy, Ewoks? jesus..... I couldn't have put that better myself In all seriousness I expect that Lego will concentrate on new (and exclusive) minifigures to ensure that it sells well, and that the actual village will be a lot of reddish-brown with the odd green branch, like a scaled-up 7956. Perhaps I'll be wrong, and I do hope so, as there are some really beautiful MOC tree designs & it would be great if they took inspiration from the likes of Brickplummer Quote
Lance Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I'm speculating that the Ewok Village will include: 3 Ewoks, Endor Han, 2 Scout Troopers, Endor Leia and Endor Luke. Maybe model-wise, there will be: An AT-ST, two large trees with huts in them and a bridge inter-connecting them, and two speeder bikes. Quote
howie28 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 That sounds like a great selection Lance. If that is what the set contains, I would buy it for sure! But if this is a UCS set, it will probably be released in October, which means that it's unlikely that we'll see pictures until around August/September. Quote
strangely Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I would guess Han, Leia and Luke being included for sure. And probably 3-5 Ewoks, one Logray, Wicket and probably a couple of generic Ewoks (Maybe a baby Ewok or something special). I could also see getting a C3PO with this as he was pretty prominent in those scenes. I would guess for the model that it will be a Batcave style build with bridges connecting the various sections together (I don't see Lego using a big base plate on this). I'm sure we'll get three trees, a big one with a good portion of room for figures and two smaller ones. I imagine the main (Biggest) tree will probably be open from the back for access so Lego can cram in some interior features. Play features will probably be some sort of elevator (Just so there's something inside the otherwise cramped smaller tree), some vines to swing on, and probably a few flick fire missiles (As Lego can't help themselves not too) and probably a net trap of some sort. I'm sure we'll magically get a speeder as well (Despite the fact that I have too many as it is) Hopefully they'll be done with Endor sets for a while after this, as there isn't too much more they could cover. Fuppylodders Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) For personal pleasure, seeing as I literally *just* missed out on getting the 8038 Ewok attack set with the AT-ST... I hope it would include one :P But either way, I'm interested to see what it will include... *edit* oh dam you cavegod, why'd you go spoil my hopes for :( Now ima have to design my own one! Legoman123 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 What about the force ghosts, after all we are getting a translucent blue arm so I don't see why not make a translucent whole minifigure, it does need to be all three force ghosts though. Quote
Lance Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 there is no At-St or imperial troops in the set Do you know how many trees are included and what minifigures are present? I think Endor Han, Luke, and Liea, and Wicket are very likely to be included. Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 http://www.bricksetf...be-completed/p1 Confirmation from a very reliable source. (bottom of page) ...There is absolutely no confirmation about a Han minifig for the May 4th promotion in your link or anywhere in that forum. Next time, please don't post links like that unless you have an actual source, it can muddle up the speculation in this thread. Still crossing my fingers for Dexter as the promotional minifig! Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Endor village eh ? C3-P0 on a wicker type throne being force lifted by Luke while he and Han were being roasting over a camp fire..... Quote
howie28 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I am hoping for at least one force ghost. It could be a mix of Trans-blue and solid light blue parts so the trans parts don't suffer too much stress. Maybe it could be be a ghost Anakin and a Vader on a pyre. Then the exclusive fig in the Yoda Chronicles could be a ghost Yoda. Quote
