The_Chosen_1 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 ^ Ephant Mon would have to have a brand-new mold of some kind, I'm not sure how Lego would handle him as a minifig. But I like your idea of having a Jabba's Palace character as the exclusive! Quote
Super Brick Collector Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I'd like another special trooper as the exclusive fig this may the 4th. Quote

Darth Malgus Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I missed out on the last Shadow ARF trooper when I purchased the delta 2 a couple of years ago... would like to see something different, perhaps Zam Wessel could be another candidate? Quote
North Lego Star Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) I missed out on the last Shadow ARF trooper when I purchased the delta 2 a couple of years ago... would like to see something different, perhaps Zam Wessel could be another candidate? Again, Lego tries to make the Lego May the Fourth Be With Minifig one that will never be included in a set and one that doesn't require new molds or extermly new printing. So I highly doubt it will be a Zam Wessel since she'll most likely be in a set again someday. Maybe a Chrome AoTC Trooper or even a chrome Pahse II Trooper? I honestly think the Han Solo minifig is the most likely one at this point since it would probally be the Space Slug Han Solo which would not require a new mold and just printing, but I wouldn't rule out the possiblity of getting something like this since it's just chrome an I don't think the idea of seeing a Jedi like Eeth Koth in non-CW printing would be impossible since it only requires new printing and not a completely new mole. Only time will tell though. Edited February 27, 2013 by North Lego Star Quote
Faefrost Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Bear in mind that the majority of new sets are to tie in with current films or tv shows - we got lots of Clone Wars when it was the newest latest newest thing, and the upcoming wave of AOTC sets was supposed to be to coincide with the now-cancelled 3D re-release of that film. The reasoning should be obvious - kids like toys based on the film they've just seen in the cinema, and toys based on a current film will help boost ticket sales. EU sets are always great for people like us who have a familiarity with it, but your average 9 year-old won't have heard of Admiral Thrawn or Mara Jade, unless they appear in Episode VII (unlikely). But follow this thought process to the end. What is the one character that we do have some confirmation will appear in episode VII in some form? Old Han And Lego has played with this sort of thing before, after all we have a "Young Han" child figure. ^ Ephant Mon would have to have a brand-new mold of some kind, I'm not sure how Lego would handle him as a minifig. The_Chosen_1 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Something like this maybe?http://www.brickset....ifigs/?m=atl015 That could work! Although I think the time has come and gone for an Ephant Mon minifig. Jabba's Palace or the Sail Barge would have been the most logical sets to include him in. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I don't know that I would want another trooper, they do so many in the sets an exclusive should be different, Ephant Mon would be fine to do as its the 30th Anniversary of ROTJ this year. Quote
HJR-Holland Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) Magma Trooper would be an easy choice: I think it would tick all the boxes: - TLG could easily make such a figure without extra costs - It's absolutely unique - It's not easy to place with a LEGO set - Everyone wants more than one of this - It's really cool! howie28 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 That looks cool, a minifig like that would be welcome in my collection. Quote
helicaon Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 re: possible Ewok village and force "Ghosts" - it's been mentioned about the technical difficulties of making translucent minifigs, and all the explanations seem very reasonable - however, it doesn't seem to have deterred Character Creations... The "invisible man" from Monsters Vs Zombies... Quote
Ritz Brick Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 As cool as it would be to have force ghosts, I don't really feel they would be all that necessary, even though they provide a lot of closure. I'm sure a kid might not understand the significance of them. But just see them as invisible minifigures. Quote

The "invisible man" from Monsters Vs Zombies... It has to do with the design of the figs themselves. Lego minifigures have used the same general design for years, and that design (with its high-stress connections between arms and torsos) is not well suited to being molded out of polycarbonate. Another solution to the force ghost issue which I've considered is a single mold of the legs, torso, arms, waist, hands, and perhaps even the head. This would work for force ghosts (which never really have any action scenes which would require poseability), but would be less well-suited to other applications. But as a single mold, it would cost far less to produce than trying to redesign every part of a fig to facilitate molding in transparent. Quote

Darth Malgus Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I don't mind the clones, however, we get enough of them in sets through the year. Quote
HawkLord Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I would pass on a red Stormtrooper, as it doesn't look that good. Rank markings like those on the Stormie Commanders I can stand, but the straight red doesn't look half as good as the regular white Stormie. As for transparent/ghost figures Hasbro did that so to death, that I can't even look at something like this. Hasbro action figures, Fighter Pods, Gentle Giant busts - the holographic/ghost design is so cheap looking and done to death. I know I can trust Lego wouldn't abuse it to the extent that Hasbro has, but I still have no use for it. Quote
