Bobsy Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 They still have alot to cover for TCW, so I don't see why they'd stop making sets for it. Because the sets are cross-promotion with the series. While the series is on the telly, it helps sales of TCW sets. Without the series, they won't sell as well. I think that the 2014 waves are going to be heavily skewed towards the original trilogy, perhaps with a little Episode III thrown in. Quote

The 2014 waves are likely already set. Just like LEGO is releasing all these Episode II sets to coincide with releases that are no longer happening, there might still be CW stuff in the pipeline that can't just be cancelled. Quote
Legoman123 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 What will be in the huts in the Ewok village ? Will it have a fire, chair, even a Hammock because a lego hammock would be awesome ? Quote
naugem Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I'm going to miss the CW-style faces . I'm probably in the minority, but I like the more 'detailed' faces better. Hopefully we'll still see a few more new CW sets. Quote

Borex Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Too bad they'll stop the series. I think there are a lot of fans who are just collecting because of the different versions of Clone Troopers. That should hurt Lego as well i guess. Does anyone know when the last episodes (the final episodes which will tie all loose ends together) will be broadcasted/streamed? Quote

I personally think the whole thing sounds more like them telling us Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season Six will be the last season of the clone wars an will involve all the last episodes leading to episode 3. It is known that these ending episodes will be released, but it is unknown when or even where they will be released. By the way, I really doubt lego would stop selling CW sets from here on out since the CW sets sell pretty well. Well probally see only see only like 3 or 4 CW sets a year starting in 2015, but I think next year will be the year we'll get Episode 3 sets for the winter wave followed by a OT and CW sets in the summer wave. Just like LEGO is releasing all these Episode II sets to coincide with releases that are no longer happening, there might still be CW stuff in the pipeline that can't just be cancelled. I think there may be an option "C" in the mix for 2014. Take note of the Lucasfilms official statement about the animation stuff. "As we enter into an exciting new era focused on the next Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm has decided to pursue a new direction in animated programming. We are exploring a whole new Star Wars series set in a time period previously untouched in Star Wars films or television programming. You can expect more details in the months to come. As part of this shift, we have also made some key decisions affecting Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Detours." In other words... TCW isn't being Cancelled. It's being REPLACED. So assume that we will be getting a good push for sets based on this new series and time period. My speculation would be either "early empire, rise of Darth Vader" type series set between eps III and IV or an early post "fall of the empire" series that will establish some of the connecting from the 30 years between ep VI and the new movies. I tend to think it will be more the second choice. Remember Mark Hamill has long reinvented himself as oneof the worlds best voice actors. Luke Skywalker as an animated character is a no brainer. Darth Malgus Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Its had its time, Filoni said that they will get the material too us so we can see what he and his team have been working on, most likely straight to DVD or perhaps a movie I doubt it though. This has been coming for sometime, Hasbro have cancelled the US release of CW figures this year as well, the writing's been on the wall for a while. Quote

This new series could also be based on The Old Republic or Legacy era which is about 20 to 30 years after ep6. Either way Lego can make some fantastic sets from this new series. Quote
Borex Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Well, if there is going to be a new series we don't know if the series will hit children channels (nickelodeon and such), and thus if it's still interesting for the Lego Company. ( I think it will though) Quote

Hopefully we'll still see a few more new CW sets. I am one of the few who too liked the Clone Wars faces over the regular ones. I wonder if the cancellation of the show will drive up the after-market prices of some of the older CW sets. I am already regretting passing on several which I did because I assumed that there would be a few years left of the CW to air. Now its going to be harder to get some of those figures that I was hoping would pop up in later sets. Here's hoping for a few more sets this year. Quote
kermit Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 With the emdor set we can either get celebration endor with han, leia, luke, wedge, lando and some ewok. However, with lego's focus on plability I think we will get a battle endor with an imperial atst, storm troopers and ewoks to represent the final battle scene on endor. Given lego's desire to have vehicles in their sets I don't see what vehicle can be included in a celebration scene. The a-wing and x-wing would make sense but are already in separate current sets. legocaptainrexfan Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 They could always have the Ewok villiage in sections, similar to what they did for jabbas palace. Quote

Fuppylodders Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I don't believe it is a UCS, it will just probably be a big playset, similar to what Cloud City was, or what the Death Star was... Neither were UCS, just great big playsets. Quote

There are still clones from the prequels that lego hasnt done yet e.g. Bacara and his galactic marines, airbourne troopers, phase 1 Leiutenant, AT-RT drivers, etc. Quote
Dragonfire Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'm kind of glad that the Lego CW line is ending: it saves me the agony of seeing all the new, cool Clone Wars sets and knowing that I'm strictly prohibited from purchasing Lego CW-faced figures. But I liked the TV show . Hopefully, a pre-PT show will replace it... Quote

I wouldn´t go as far as to say the amount of sets per year because that varies wildly but TCW and movie stuff is a given. ROTS may be depending on how much time LEGO takes for sets to make concepts for and produce. The decision to release 3D ROTS a few weeks after AOTC was made much later than the date for 3D AOTC. It still can be that they didn´t plan for a ROTS release and aren´t going to. Its had its time, Filoni said that they will get the material too us so we can see what he and his team have been working on, most likely straight to DVD or perhaps a movie I doubt it though. This has been coming for sometime, Hasbro have cancelled the US release of CW figures this year as well, the writing's been on the wall for a while. Direct to DVD seems unlikely since the show is expensive to make (2 million per episode). It seems easier to just do a season and show it on Disney XD. It´s not like TCW isn´t being watched. Other companies were glad to have a moneymaker like it. I'm kind of glad that the Lego CW line is ending: it saves me the agony of seeing all the new, cool Clone Wars sets and knowing that I'm strictly prohibited from purchasing Lego CW-faced figures. But I liked the TV show . Hopefully, a pre-PT show will replace it... Oh, I bet the next show will also feature a deformed cartoon look like every other CG show on television and won´t have a realistic art style. LEGO will keep up the tradition. Quote
Lobot Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) The Death Star was and UCS. Please can you try to make your posts more understandable in future! This makes absolutely no sense to me Several of your recent posts have been totally pointless and are cluttering up this thread, which should be for 2013 Pictures and Rumours; it isn't intended to be a ....'wouldn't it be great/cool/wicked if a set contained character x, y or z'! For your information the current Death Star (10188) isn't a UCS model, but the older 'Death Star II' (10143) was. Edited March 12, 2013 by Lobot Quote
Fuppylodders Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 The older death star was also not a playset, I was referring to playsets, as the Ewok village will be, hence, the 10188 not a UCS as Lobot pointed out Quote

And given Disney's ownership and interests it will almost certainly be on one of the Disney Channels. Most likely DisneyXD. The only alternative might be ABCFamily. Quote
