I am a little bit disappointed with the new sail barge.

The old one released 6 years ago looks way better which is really a shame for whoever designed the new one.

The front of the craft is the problem for me. It looks way too blocky and weird.

Amazing minifigs though.

Republic Gunslip: Finally, a proper AOTC Padme. Should've been in a smaller set with a Nexu - another dang gunship. Considering this one is destroyed at the end of the scene it's in, they could at least construct it so it could shatter into multiple fragments - if you're going to have another gunship, might as well do something new.

In fact, that is a "play" feature that is already included in all Lego Star Wars sets since the early beginning in 1999.. Just swoosh your ship, any ship, around and then let it drop from your hands... watch what happens..

(rumors are they also included this gimmic in all space sets, from classic up till the latest Galaxy Squad... I even heard somebody talking about the Town police helicopters.. but I wouldn't bet on it.. you know, rumors and the internet...)

I completely agree. You know, I was just looking at the two sets photos yesterday and trying to think how simple it would be to MOD the new one. Maybe you could just stick the pieces from the old one's bow section right onto the new barge's hull. It shouldn't be too tricky with a dozen or so pieces and those boat parts it would have a much better curve.

The deck gun on the old one also looks way better, too. I'm definately going to replace that.

I am not too good at modding and MOCing as I am more of a collector, but if you mod it, I would be very interested in seeing what it looks like and maybe trying the same with mine.

I'm guessing they couldn't pull off a rounded bow like in the old model and still make it possible to open. But I definetely prefer the old design. Will skip this even though it's the only summer wave OT set :/

If I owned the old model I might had bought this set to combine them into the ultimate sail barge :). The new minifigs are really nice.

it's fun to see that our tastes are identical. These are exactly the same sets that i plan to lay a hand on.

Considering the likeliness of an 'Ewok village' release, my thinking goes 'so so' or something like that. Really depending on design and execution of the setting. However, I'd seriously prefer a new Imperial Star Destroyer. They'd land a big deal with it for sure!

I with you guys on the look of the new Sail Barge, I just don't dig it. The old one is a much better design. The only reason I'd like the new barge is for the new minifigures, but I might try to nab those loose. I already have the old barge and it was one of the best purchases I made last year; a truly awesome set.

Its a shame the new RPG still has no air to air missiles under the wings. I will have to bricklink extra parts again then.

Speaking of the wing missiles, anybody ever noticed in EP II AOTC that when they spot Dooku and Anakin tells the pilot to "shoot him down" and the pilot says, "we are out of rockets, Sir"

when clearly they still have 4 missiles left on the right wing:

It is almost completely flat while it should have been elevated in the back area, just like with the old one.

I think it is because the hold one had too steep of a slope on the bow, when compared to the shooting model. But I still don't like the change. The old ones boat hull was a little too steep. But it was smooth and curved and looked right to the eye. The bow of the new one looks like an 8 bit video game.

Mmm, thats strange. I just took a print screen at 118.04 min in the movie, you can see the air to air missiles there. :)

Count me in on this one. But I have to add, Lego put some great minifigures in it, but not enough in my book. Every 30€ SW set gets 4 these days, and we get 4 plus an R2? Seriously, Lego? In a 120€ set? And I am not counting Jabba since he is counting towards the 850 pieces / 120€ ratio, to be fair. It would have been good to see the little crumb guy, 3PO and perhaps Han or Chewie in addition. Wouldn't have broken Legos neck on this and would have added much more value to it as a playset, so you can replay the whole scene with the Barge and the Skiff, without need to get the Palace.

Palpatine didn't want them actually killing Dooku until after the war was started. So naturally he told the Clones to not kill Dooku and to lie to the Jedi if they ordered them to.
