TWP Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Palpatine didn't want them actually killing Dooku until after the war was started. So naturally he told the Clones to not kill Dooku and to lie to the Jedi if they ordered them to. Do you have a source or is that speculation? Quote

That seems rather strange, and why would the pilot (at the expense of his own life) bother to drop off the Jedi in the hanger then? Quote
Chills Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 That seems rather strange, and why would the pilot (at the expense of his own life) bother to drop off the Jedi in the hanger then? Agreed. The most likely answer to the question is that the folks at ILM who did the CGI of the RGS didn't look at the script close enough. Or those rockets are air-to-ground. ;) Quote

8BrickMario Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I join the "Not impressed with the Khetanna" group. The curve isn't as good, but I do like the cannon. The wheels are a really nice decision, and the minifigs are excellent. but we need more. They gave a $20 set, Geonosian Cannon, 4 minifigs, but a $120 set in the same theme only gets that many? R2 and Jabba don't count. I agree with giving the set 3PO or Han. They didn't give the Palace 3PO, either. I wonder how high the Barge and Skiff would have to be elevated on trans-bricks to make them related in height with each other and the Sarlacc? Quote
wesker Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Any word on whether Leia's braid is made of plastic or rubber yet? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 @wesker: it's definitely rubbery ;) Interestingly, Leia's hairpiece and Rebo's head were inside the "china bags", whereas Ree-Yees' head (which is also made of rubber) was laying around openly in one of the numbered bags... P.S: I've finally managed to upload all pictures I took of the new sets: http://www.flickr.com/photos/darthguy/ I can wholeheartedly recommend all of them, the redesigns are all superior to previous versions (even the Sailbarge, whose front looks way better in person) and the entirely new sets are great too. And I'm glad they finally resized the boxes, otherwise I'd have run out of storage space quite soon ^^ Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) What set do you like the best. or if you can't pick, what do you like best about each set? That Sail Barge is good, but not blowing my mind. I am really torn on whether or not to get it. @Wesker: Did you see the picture of the back of Leia's har a few pages back? You could tell it was rubber/soft plastic from that photo. Edited May 18, 2013 by 8BrickMario Quote
wesker Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Thanks Lego-Freak. And great job with the pictures of the new sets. I really liked the comparison shots you took. Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Sorta disappointing that they reused Jace Malcolm's head for the Bounty Hunter in the Stealth Fighter. What is the trans-blue gattling-gun-like piece you took a pic of used for? The Super Commandos and Uruk-Hai look quite similar by markings. Maybe the Commandos wear the Black Hand of Namuras? The piece: Quote
The JMC Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 What sets do we expect to see in 2014, which will be the last year of sets before Episode VII comes out which I assume will dominate the 2015 calendar year for set releases. We are still missing many scenes and minifigs. Would love to see a Jedi Temple that opens like a doll house and has a Jedi Council room and library etc. Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) There's no knowing about 2014 yet. The Toy Fair next year will tell. A Jedi Temple would be good, but I wouldn't want my CW Barriss Offee minifig anywhere near it! Edited May 18, 2013 by 8BrickMario Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 @8BrickMario: It's really a tough decision, but I've come to the conclusion that the Duel set and the new Gunship are my favorites, because both have fantastic minifigs (as do the other sets, but those are especially magnificent) and I've always wanted an Episode II gunship (I own the CW version, but that one sorely lacks the bubble turrets). The Sailbarge is up there too with its sleek design and great minifigs I took a picture of that trans-light blue piece because I've never seen it before (though I'm pretty sure it existed in different colors before, but I'm no Technic expert). The set includes two of them and they're used as part of the engines ^^ Quote
The Joker1 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I really am looking forward to the Yoda chronicles, But I am upset to know it is unlikely anyone will ever actually open and build one of these sets. Oh well . Anyway I have done a little writing on the set- http://www.madbricks.com/2013/05/18/yoda-chronicles-promo-set-found/ Quote

I hoped for hard plastic. Ree-Yees could have been easily a hard plastic head, just like Max Rebo. Does Coleman Trebor also have a rubber head? Quote
darththeling Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Thanks for those images, Lego-Freak. Excellent to finally see inside this masterpiece of a wave. Padme, Anakin and Obi-Wan are certainly incredibly faithful to ATOC and don't disappoint... I love the ripped Padme outfit. I've had a modded version for years but it's the hair that stands out. It's excellent! Also, I didn't expect to see this in the front of the sail barge: There's been a lot of complaining about the appearance of the front. Especially in comparison to the former which I agreed looked better. But I must admit I do like that cannon (though it might not be...canon?) and doubt it would be possible to mod the old version to include such a great weapon due to the pieces used in the bow. Quote
Xenophobic Monoxide Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Do you have a source or is that speculation? Speculation, but it makes sense really. Quote

I´ve bought all sets of this wave and especially "Duel on Geo." is a really nice set when it comes to the Minifigures! C´mon a non Clone Wars Yoda with a printed face is a must ;) and Dokuu also looks pretty on spot! Interesting fact for the MOCers it contains 8x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3038&in=S in Light Bluis Grey which seems to be a piece which is getting more and more expensive (maybe because you need 11 of them for #10179 ?!)! For example like Rhodians and Mon Calamaris. p.s. What about new Yoda? Is he the same? p.p.s sorry to bother you with so many questions. Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Wouldn't be LEGO Yoda, without rubber head, I think! Head made out of plastic, not likely it is. I think the Duel on (yet another set in) Geonosis the Sail Barge, and the Spider Droid are the best ones. I shouldn't complain about Jabba's barge, as I don't have the old one, so any repesentation is welcome. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 p.s. What about new Yoda? Is he the same? Yes, the same he is, but come as a surprise this should not Quote
just2good Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) Read this from an eBay auction of the Press Kit set: LEGO sent out press kits this week announcing that on May 23rd in Times Square, there will be a party to show off the world’s largest LEGO model. If they are revealing the Ewok Village (likely as it's a Star Wars themed event), it might be the biggest set ever! I'm guessing $400-$500 with 5000-6000 pieces. darththeling Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 ^^ If that's true, then I'll be making my own MOC Ewok village, thanks TLG. The beloved 10188 is about as much as I'll ever drop on a single Lego set! Quote

I'm guessing $400-$500 with 5000-6000 pieces. I can't see why it should be a Star Wars related model, and if it should be a Star Wars related model, why it should be Ewok Village, which, in the strictest sense, is not really a model. If it should be a Star Wars model, I'd rather suppose it to be the Cuuso Sandcrawler. Quote
