Faefrost Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 How many UCS sets lego showed for us? Only 10240? P.S. Why lego can't make sets of 2003 clone wars? The Genedy Tartakovski animated shorts? They actually did make a few sets based on it. The best example is the 7676 Republic Gunship. The Obi Wan and Ventriss from that set are from the 2003 show. Quote

strangely Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 No, that CAN'T be leia. Remember, she was born after the jedi temple was attacked. At the time leia was that old, yoda was already chilling on dagobah. I think Lego realises that too, or they would really have messed things up. Correct, that is not Leia. And Lego obviously is not intending that figure to be her. They used Anakin's torso, obviously Lego was just using parts they already had in stock rather than creating anything new. Plus in the trailer that female padawan is made up of different parts, Lego obviously just didn't want to create new parts for such an insignificant character. Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Anyone like the bags the pieces came in? What if they started using those? -Sci Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I disagree. Stickers sealing it is annoying, and I shouldn't have to grab scissors to open a bag easily. The polybags they currently use in sets and promos rip open well, and are overall more appealing. To each their own, though. Quote
TWP Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Anyone like the bags the pieces came in? What if they started using those? -Sci I would not like that, mainly because you would not be really able to see if a set is completely sealed and complete. E.g. someone at ebay might have just opened and closed the bags after getting some parts out. However, I do not think that that would happen, but it could... Actually I really like that box, how it opens! well yes. If we are actually paying attention to star wars cannon and chronology. But the cutesey lego animated sw shows are not exactly known for that are they? Not saying thats a bad thing. The lego shows poke fun at it all in an entertaing way. Besides. If you want to get really technical about it. Yoda fid know who and where Leia was. Whos to say he never taught her history? I am not able to see how a Leia in the show can make it more entertaining? The Ian-Han was a bit funny, and could have been possible, Han looks older than Leia in the movies. And Yoda going to Alderaan to give Leia a lesson or Leia to Dagobah? Sounds not really likely. I think Yoda and Ben wanted to focus on Luke as their first "hope", and if it failed they might wanted to focus on Leia. Too, because that padawan got Leia's face doesn't have to mean it IS leia? I mean, Mon Mothma got the same face, and nobody thought it was Leia in disguise or her sister, right? Didn't Tamina of PoP get a similar face with pupils? Quote
Faefrost Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 (My apologies I am not sure whether to put this here or under the "Future Star wars sets" thread, as it deals with a pretty clear suggestion of which way they will probably be going with the next to be announced winter wave?) Well this is unexpected http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82660 2014 will give us a new television series Star Wars Rebels. I think we now have a much better idea of what sorts of sets we will be seeing for the 2014 waves. Ralph McQuarrie'esq transitional stuff from between RoTS and ANH. (probably a safe bet that we will finally see at a minimum, a Bail Organa minifig of some sort.) Quote
darththeling Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Oh... Vader vs. Ahsoka. Can't wait to see something like that. :D Takes the sting out of TCW cancellation, too. Doe this mean we won't see anything from that line until 2015-2016? I understand it takes a few years before approved licensed kits are released. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I'm beyond excited for the series, but I hope they abandon the "cartoony" faces for minifigures. It's doubtful, but we can always hope... Quote
Darth Malgus Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 May get some more rogues as minifigs then! Could be good. With Filoni involved. Quote
strangely Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I'm beyond excited for the series, but I hope they abandon the "cartoony" faces for minifigures. It's doubtful, but we can always hope... Well TMNT human characters have regular minifigure faces despite their stylized faces in the show, so I could believe we'd see normal heads for sets based around this new show. Plus with the amount of people that hate the clone wars heads I'd think Lego wouldn't want to do that again (Though I could be wrong). Quote
Faefrost Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 2 sets I do predict we will see for 2014, based on the new series. A Ralph McQuarrie style X Wing, with the narrow nose and D shaped intakes. And a new Tantive IV. Quote
wesker Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Hopefully the new show means we'll finally get a Bail Organa minifigure, as well as updated figures of Mon Mothma, Wedge Antilles and Grand Moff Tarkin. Even better if we also get a few CW/PT leftovers like Mas Amedda, Captain Typho and Bo-Katan. Quote

I think we won't see many Rebels sets in the winter wave yet, because Lego's designers need time to design sets and I think that winter wave is too early to recieve reference pics and design sets. I think we could expect at least some two sets, just like the anakin's cw starfighter and geonosis droids at the debute of the clone wars. I think we can expect some more episode III sets, because the designers were already designing some for the cancelled 3D movie. Quote

The_Chosen_1 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 We won't be seeing "Rebels" sets until summer 2014 at the very earliest, since the show doesn't premier until fall 2014. On that note, I'm afraid that 2014 will be the last year that we really see much representation from the current Episodes I-VI in Lego form. With the new trilogy (and now Rebels) on the horizon, I predict that those will mostly dominate the Lego assortment in 2015 and beyond. Quote

Spider-Man Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I have a strange feeling we could possibly see Rex and the 501st still as the Empire starts transferring from 'clone' troopers to the stormies. Quote

Rebels and the new trilogy will likely be using a lot of the same ships from IV-VI, so even if they stopped doing specific scenes from those movies (highly unlikely) you would still see ships from the OT being made. darththeling Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 There are plenty of scenes they missed! But mostly Cloud City, Yavin IV and Degobah. That's for the OT. For the PT I dunno... but people will be asking for a J-237 Royal Naboo Cruiser until TLG caves and actually gives us one. :D I do agree thought, at 2015 it'll be all ep7 and SW:Rebels. Which is fine, I have a feeling the new ships for both series' will be in line with the look/feel of the OT anyway. Does anyone know what the focus will be for the Star Wars Lego sets coming this winter? Quote

Yavin IV could have used a temple, and the one TLG did build but never released was really neat, but oh well. Perhaps someday though, I would be surprised if we don't see Yavin IV in Rebels. Seaber Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I have a strange feeling we could possibly see Rex and the 501st still as the Empire starts transferring from 'clone' troopers to the stormies. This would be cool, but with the emphasis on the rebels, Rex and Co would be the bad guys. Weird thought! They did Cloud City and Dagobah. Not extensively, but they did them. Yavin IV could have used a temple, and the one TLG did build but never released was really neat, but oh well. Perhaps someday though, I would be surprised if we don't see Yavin IV in Rebels. Cloud City and Dagobah haven't been seen since the days of yellow, so ten years on seems like a good time to revisit these places. Yavin IV would be good, but with the release of Luke, Han as exclusives, I think this has driven the likelyhood down. Quote
