"Hmm, it's like these enemies have been built to be immune to my attacks." :innocent:

"Well, being the situation as it is, I think my most valuable asset at present would be to lend the use of my shield in blocking off the attacks of the orc while we all focus on the drunkard.

I think my sealing him, in that case, would be more useful than my attacking him. Demon, if you had thought to give me that hat before heading down here, I could tank his attacks perfectly."

:hmpf_bad:

Battle Order:

>Pretzel: Seal Dragon Dan

>Sylph: Seal Dragon Dan or Blind if Already Sealed

>Erik: Dragon Dan (Titanic Axe) From Front Row if Dan is Blinded

Dreyrugr: Dragon Dan (Crow-Claw Dagger)

Nessa: Dragon Dan (Silver Crossbow)

When a targeted enemy is petrified, can they fight back? Petrified lasts until the end of the battle, right?

"Couldn't have said it better myself."

"Oh please, you quested with Drake and that demon? I pity you, Erik. You must have had a hard time in Heroica. Is Drake as crazy in battle as he is in the hall?"

"It wasn't the booze, Erik! Heck, you haven't even had a drop to drink, thank God!"

"Ah, he's certainly... eccentric. He didn't seem bad in a fight, though."

"Well, not on this quest, but I hear it can sometimes have longer-term effects."

Erik attacks Dragon Dan with his Titanic Axe from the front row if Dan is blind, or the back row if he isn't.

"Well, I would advise you stay away from it for the most part. Unless it gives you a stat boost  "

Round One of Decidedly Dastardly Duo Destruction

>Pretzel: Seal Dragon Dan - Failure (No effect, -1 ether)

>Sylph: Seal Dragon Dan - Failure (No effect, -1 ether)

>Erik: Dragon Dan (Titanic Axe) - Shield: Frenzy (32/2 x 2 - 7 = 25 damage to Dan, 11 to Iron Mongrel, no petrify)

Nessa: Dragon Dan (Silver Crossbow) - Shield: Tripleshot (23 x 2 - 7 = 39 damage to Dan, 41 to Iron Mongrel, 39 to Dan)

The battle starts off rocky. Pretzel and Sylph both fail their castings, allowing Dan to impale Dreyrugr in the side with his halberd. Erik and Nessa, however, beat both him and the Iron Mongrel back with a shower of axe blows and crossbow bolts.

"You haven't accepted anything from me and now you're blaming me saying it's my fault. Right, you make perfect sense. :sarcasm: Choose an option and stay with it."

"You know nothing about me so don't go assuming you know what I think. And as for heroes maybe you do see yourself as one but can you honestly say that most people in the hall are. Last quest I was on we were hired to give the Hinkwells a monopoly on selling cloth. Do you know how many people that put out of business and the mess it caused in the city? And that quest was allowed by the veterans knowing or at least guessing full well what would happen. You might think you're a hero but we're just hired to do whatever job for a reward. If you really thought a hero of yourself you wouldn't be doing 'quests' to help others for profit and you'd do it for free. Don't hide behind the notion that with the rewards you can do a better job, some people use all the money they own to pay for heroica to help and we find enough to get by quite well without it. And why do you think we pay money for good equipment in the first place. People wouldn't charge us if they thought heroica was full of heroes. The very fact you had to 'pay' so much for that wonderful shield of yours shows that even the people of Eubric don't see Heroica as heroes."

"Well, I wouldn't say that the best way to start is by the distribution of bones that you probably tore from your victims.

"I'm not assuming what you think. In fact I know that you aren't really thinking because you're just being manipulated by an outside source. All your kind are the same and that's why one sees the exact same manner of thinking from one of your kind to the next. Ultimately, every person has a conscience which tells them what is right to do and what is not, although I understand that you don't understand because you clearly don't have one, being manipulated by an outside force. Still, accepting pay from those who would give it is a manner of helping those who we serve as well. The society would be greatly improved if everyone learned to give more and take less. Does that mean I wouldn't serve someone who didn't pay me? Of course not. In fact, I'd be more likely to go on a quest for someone who didn't pay me than for someone that did. Have you ever helped someone just for the sake of it? Well, just because you don't that doesn't mean other heroes don't. I didn't buy this shield in Eubric. In fact, this is the first quest I've done within Eubric. I've always worked under the thinking that the farther one travels, the greater the gift is to the person who called them. The reason people in Eubric don't give things out freely to heroes is because there are such a vast number of heroes, rogues especially who use underhand methods to strip people of their wealth. They are the ones who give Heroica and heroes alike a bad name. People like you. All I can say is that I'm proud of what I've done for the world. I have helped to change those whom I have encountered for the better, can you say you left such a lasting good impression on those whom you left? Clearly not. You speak plainly of ripping off businesses in order to favour the wealthy. Alas! Heroica to what depths you have fallen!"

"Stay back this time around, men and Nessa, unless the druid has successfully blinded him."

>Sylph: Repeat

Erik can attest I helped a young girl find her friend in where I got no reward out of the quest. Maybe you will not believe me but what about them? And I don't get where you believed I talked about ripping off businesses to 'favour the wealthy'. It's a problem of yours monk. If you believe something is evil you instantly assume every action has an ill purpose behind it, while that is a safe option most of the time there are some things in this world that you need to take at face value. I'll leave you with a question. You keep saying 'my kind' has no will of its own. If you became like me for some reason or another would that instantly mark you as evil? Would you be bend on seeking the destruction of the world? Or would you still retain the values that make you 'you'?

a) Not in character.

b) Altering someones else's character is just downright rude.

c) I'm holding back because I know I'd never get away with it.

"If there's one thing I cannot tolerate, it's inter-party arguments during battle. Such distractions not only decrease party synergy, but they furthermore expose exploitable weaknesses to our enemies." Stated Sylph Calmly, concentrating on his scroll. "They needed to be stopped."

"You are right, but I still don't know why we have to fight them... like everyone else. But for now - I have to admit - we have to stand united!"

"Just shut up and kill these morons!" Barked Sylph at the bickering couple. Sylph proceeded to try and Seal Dragon Dan.

"God seems to be restraining us for the time to allow us to sort out this argument, or so it seems. You may want to ensure that if I'm successful you Blind Dragon Dan instead of Sealing him again."
