"Oh, certainly, yes. Thanks. But please tell me, why are you that kind? For I, as it seems to me, recently haven't been." Nessa asked as she gave the Tricorne to Erik and equipped the Emerald Hood instead of her cowl.

"You're a good kid...when you're good, and your archery has been invaluable to us this quest. Thus far, we haven't really found any loot that suited you tremendously, so this will have to do. It's worth a pretty penny. You've earned it, so it's yours. Put it to good use."

"I don't think we're gonna find anything though." Stated Sylph as he swung. "This is where mages really come in handy."

"Mages! I'd never trust them. Dabbling with the powers of the ethereal to damage and cause harm rather than for the administration of healing as they should be used."

"In my opinion, it's not the damage dealing that's wrong, but the strain they put on the environment by manipulating and altering nature. Killing is a natural evil, but warping reality to one's own ends is an unnatural evil if not tempered by constraint and consideration of the repercussions (Which is the case all too often.)"

Do I have all this right? Oh, and Pretzel never divided the Grating Stone, so I've left it in his inventory.

The boulder continues to crack and splinter with the weight of several pickaxes behind it, but if they didn't figure out a creative solution to clearing it out of the path, there wasn't much else to be done.

"Hmmm. This is pointless. Let's walk around to the other side to see if this path is accessible any other way. Let's go North and then East."

OoC: it seems about right.

Pretzel is keeping hold of the Grating Stone for now and hoping that the party will forget about it so he can sell it to Guts to make big profit.

"North and East it is."

Posted (edited)

"Thank you, Pretzel, if I might call you that way. A long time has passed since I heard such friendly and encouraging words. Most of the time people seem to dislike me. Sometimes I really feel useless." Nessa said as she leaned on the boulders.

OOC: your chance, CMP, to do something 'creative'

The party heads north, then goes east, turning a left corner to another fork. Will they go east, west, or south?

"Certainly. We have no reason to rush. We should make sure to check every nook and cranny for a useful item."

"East now."

"Aye! East it is, for now."

 I totally forgot to gripe against Sylph for destroying the armour. :wall:

OoC: I destroyed the Shield as well. At first Sylph wanted to fight them alone, but I realized they were too powerful. I'm sure you'll find something about Sylph to gripe about sooner or later.

The party heads east, and is surprised by what they find sitting in the dead end just ahead.

"Hold." Stated Sylph upon seeing the creature. "This beautiful being is likely just a mother. We've stumbled upon her nest." Sylph stated. He turned to the beast, speaking the language of the Spiders. "Majestic creature, we do not wish to harm you. Allow us to retreat and we will not harm you or your nest. I beseech you. It is in the best interest of your children as well."

Posted

"It's no use trying to a ravenous beast of this sort. Besides, what does she have to hide? Attack it, I say. What does she feast on down here, I wonder. I've seen such beasts before and I know that they will feast on human flesh if it is afforded them. This creature is a menace to society."

Will the current eggs hatch into Sewer Spawn next round?

Posted

"I agree with Sylph. However, best to be prepared for a fight if he is unsuccessful in talking to it, unless it is decided that we should flee. If a fight does occur, I will attack the Egg A with my Twin Axe from the front row, unless you guys think I should throw my Flash Bomb at the Sewer Spider? Perhaps someone could put the mother to sleep while we deal with the eggs?"

Would sleep prevent the mother spider's passive special?

Posted

It's late now, and I don't feel like putting up a battle order unless I'm sure you fellows actually want to attack him. Would paralyzing or petrifying the spider prevent its passive special? The loot is less than great so I don't mind passing up the fight. It would more be for experience than anything else.

Posted

Would paralyzing or petrifying the spider prevent its passive special?

Petrifying would, but it's immune.

Posted

Okay, just wanted to figure out how the passive specials work.

If we want we could try to defeat it, and if the situation goes badly we throw a smoke bomb. I don't particularly mind, as I said before.

"If Humans are its prey than so be it. It is not my place to allow this senseless murder of a creature that's done no wrong." Stated Sylph contemptuously, waiting for the spider to reply.

Posted

I should have a new shield and Pretzel should have my impervious one.

"I'll let you talk to it but we've wandered into it's home so I doubt we will be getting away easily." Dreyrugr readies for a fight, should the fight start he will throw his shuriken at spider egg b from the back row.
