Vash the Stampede Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 "You have sharp eyes there druid. Yes you may borrow the scroll. I'm not sure what powers it entails but I've noticed its rarity." Dreyrugr lends his scroll of ice armour to Sylph. Dreyrugr also takes a quick note of whether or not there are discernable footprints. Dreyrugr then looks at the corpse noting whether he was wounded on the front or back. Dreyrugr then smells the blood on the table to distinguish whether or not it is Rorik's. "And here I thought I wouldn't have to deal with cloth for a while" muttered Dreyrugr under his breath.
Palathadric Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 (edited) "Lots of generic goods, like clothes and food. I attended a few of his meetings, but usually only to watch and learn." Sylph examines the window. The windowsill juts out towards the street, and is made of stone. There doesn't appear to be any way to climb up to it or down from it, but the building across the street is fairly tall, though it would take a very skilled acrobat to make the jump. He takes sudden notice of a scrap of deep blue fabric caught in a loose stone in the windowsill. "Did you accompany him on any of his more recent meetings? If so, with whom did he meet?" "Capital idea." stated Sylph looking up from the wound. "It's a clean, deep cut. Probably slicing. Started at the Right, shallower at the left. I'd say dagger, but I could be wrong. We're looking for a blade though, or something similar. It's not the ax. I like your plan. I was thinking of loosing this hide. It's best in the hands of a heavy hitter. If you give me your robe, I'll give Erik my hood too. You might ask him for his current armour in its place. As a paladin, you'll be doing more hitting than healing. That's my specialty." chuckled Sylph softly. "From the way it curves, it seems possible that it could be the axe, but if so, Rorik was almost certainly dead or unconscious before the blow was dealt. A dagger certainly makes more sense. Here, take this robe." I hand Sylph the Robe of the Archmagi and pop the Tricorn onto my head. I suddenly feel like a cleric again. I quickly pick up my shield. "So, demon, it seems like you will be receiving this Mulled Wine. To get the most out of it, I'd drink it in one shot." I toss the Mulled Wine at Dreyrugr. Turning away, I smirk. My hand grasps the steak in my cart for a brief second, and then I turn back to the scene at hand. Edited May 25, 2013 by Palathadric
Vash the Stampede Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Dreyrugr catches the wine. "Thanks." I thought the monk would be looking for more of a fight but surprising not. He must be tired. Fine by me.

He looked the scroll over, reciting the words in a whispered tone, attempting to develop some familiarity with the thing. "I haven't seen a scroll like this in a very long time... I may want to relieve you of it permenently once I acquire more currency. I can't imagine you'll be using it unless you start to study the arcane arts... and due to its unique nature, you won't want to (or be able to, I think) bind it to your own armour... This will be good to cast before battles start... Maybe not every battle, but certainly it should be cast before our confrontation with the murderer. From what we've surmised, he or she is quite capable." Sylph stated blankly. Sofia pokes her head back inside the room. "Have you found anything yet?" "Yes, infact we have." Stated Sylph, looking up from his new scroll. "Dark-blue fabric in the window. A slicing wound and brocken ribs on the body. Topled table and chest: signs of struggle... And we're looking for someone with acrobatic skill, it seems. A letter we found may indicate that the Hinckwells--or someone masquarading as Hinckwell--may be behind this." he finished. He sometimes told me about the first time he came here, but always seemed more concerned with the atmosphere than its people. No, but Zepher's Quest is a Macbeth reference. It was a comment on the current status of Shakespeare references in general more than one related solely to your reference. "That's not a bad idea." Stated Sylph. "Are we done here, mates?" Sylph asked of the Party. "Have we checked everything?"
herrJJ Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 "I think we are done here. And talking to the people downstairs again might be a good idea with the new hints we got here."
Palathadric Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 "I can't think of anything else that can be done here," I offer. I peer out the window one more time, and look closely at the windows of the next house and then up and down the house we are in as well. "Do you know what kind of building that is?" I query, pointing at the building where, presumably, the assassin leapt from. "Is it a factory, an inn, apartments?"
Myrddyn Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 (edited) "The Hinckwell and Shadeaux representatives he spoke to could perhaps have had him followed to find out where he was staying." "I can't think of anything else to do here either." Edited May 25, 2013 by Myrddyn
Vash the Stampede Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 "He must have been a brave assassin. When he left he used the front door. If we ask about people who haven't booked into the inn but have come in that might narrow the numbers down." Dreyrugr seemed to have forgotten to so he notes whether the wound was on the front or back of Rorik. She looks upset for a moment, then threw a glare to the side, out the window. "...I'll settle for the head of whoever was wielding the sword." "That's strange. We are still in dispute over the murder weapon. How do you know it's a sword?"

I query, pointing at the building where, presumably, the assassin leapt from. "Is it a factory, an inn, apartments?" Sofia narrows her eyes at it through the window, then shakes her head. The other building appears to just be a smaller, abandoned pub. Dreyrugr seemed to have forgotten to so he notes whether the wound was on the front or back of Rorik. "That's strange. We are still in dispute over the murder weapon. How do you know it's a sword?" The wound is on the front of Rorik's throat. "I don't. I was making a point."
herrJJ Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 "That might be a point. Sofia, have you been treated well by Rorik?"
