Why would Gontzo deal full damage. I was in the back row? People fighting from the back row deal full damage instead of half damage to those fighting in the front row not to those in the back row as well...I think.

I attack Gontzo from the Front Row with my Heavy Flail.

Battle Order:

Pretzel: Gontzo (Heavy Flail)

Sylph: Frailty on Gontzo or, if Pretzel's strike successful, Attack with Shrapnel Bow

Dreyrugr: Gontzo (Shurikan)

Erik: Gontzo (Twin Axe: Double on Gontzo)

Nessa: Gontzo (Silver Crossbow)

"I won't lie to you and say that our chances are good of taking him down, but let's see what we can do."

"Hmhmmmhm hm mmm hmmmmm. Hm hmmm, mm mm hm hmm mmm hmm." Nessa shook her head and aimed for Gontzo from the back row.

"Ummm, are you quite alright? I at first thought your 'hmming' was because of my angel, but really in that case I thought it would be coming more from our male audience. Somehow, though, you've been humming around for a while now." :look:

"You're right, they aren't great, but there is a chance, and if he's still standing next round, we can probably manage to finish him off without anyone being knocked out."

No, I explained this in the necromancer battle, ranged fighters deal full damage no matter what. That goes for heroes, too, though, so bows and magic and such do full damage to Gontzo.

"Yep. Besides, I think the the psychological effect of them losing their massive glob would hit hard and heavy."

So you did. I am still certain that I've seen it work differently though. Even in the arena.

Battle leader, create a battle order. Everyone, choose your actions.

So you did. I am still certain that I've seen it work differently though. Even in the arena.

That's an exception. The arena rules aren't known for making too much sense. I'll continue to do it this way for this battle, but I'll check and see how others have done it for the future.

"That could have gone better, but the only thing that was actually bad was Drey dropping his gear. That shield's probably the first thing you should grab, Drey. And maybe you should try that scroll now, Pretzel?"

"Nessa and Sylph, maybe you wanna hit that healer?"

Erik swings his Twin Axe at Little Red from the back row.

Pie, wouldn't big red have healed Gontzo for his free hit? Also, can Dreyrugr use his shield the round he picks it up? Because it's not an artifact.

Pretzel > Reg (debuff) (tanks Gontzo)

Sylph > ??? (tanks Feldorin)

Erik >Little Red (Tanks Difur)

Drey > shield (Tanks Reg)

Nessa > ???

Results:

Pretz - 26 HP

Sylph - 28 HP

Erik - 15/16 HP

Drey - 21/33 HP

Ness - no damage

Yes to both, thanks.

Nessa glanced grimly in the direction of Pretzel: "Oh well, what do you thought by sealing me?" She turned to Sylph. "Don't listen to that. Thank you for the healing. Thank you? For what? Disabling me to talk. Listen to me, child. I am here to protect you from such foul individuals that claim right on their side and though acting evil. Follow me and everything will be fine! Fine? You are here to guide her to hell... or worse. Come with me and I will show you the way of light." Nessa was obviously driven by the two minds in her head. Her path in front of her was hidden.

The whole world seemed to be foggy and she could not get a clear sight. On the left side a red, strong, and violent light burned. To the right side a bluish, warm, and comfortable light shivered through the fog. Only through a narrow tunnel she could glimpse at the real world.

"We can't make much progress so long as 'Big Red' is standing. All out attack on him."

Battle Order:

>Pretzel: Scroll of Disenchantment

>Sylph: Big Red (Scroll of Frailty)

>Erik: Big Red (Twin Axe: Double Power)

>Nessa: Big Red (Silver Crossbow)

>Dreyrugr: Pick Up Shield

"I will take the ugly glob's hit. Sylph will take that of the elf, Erik that of Difur, Nessa that of Little Red, who we should avoid targeting until we take down Big Red, and our vampire friend the hit from their captain, who, will hopefully be feeling weaker by that time. Let's go."

"I'm sorry about having to seal you, Nessa, but it's necessary if we want that cloak to be of any use to you. ...You don't talk a whole lot anyway. If it bothers you though, I won't do it again." :look: "It was for your own good though."

"Okay (not ok-ey) dokey, Sir. You want me back row still, I presume?"

Erik swings at Big Red from the back row with his Twin Axe.

"I understand, Pretzel. And it was not only for my but for our all good you sealed me. It is no problem for me. But for me. And somebody has to pay for it." Nessa said as she aimed for Big Red from the back row.

Round Three of Sewer Wolves Smackdown

>Sylph: Big Red (Scroll of Frailty) - Success (Big Red is frail, -1 ether)

>Erik: Big Red (Twin Axe) - Damage (Big Red heals Gontzo for 40 health, -1 ether)

>Nessa: Big Red (Silver Crossbow) - Damage (Big Red heals Gontzo for 40 health, -1 ether)

>Dreyrugr: Pick up shield - (Dreyrugr picks up and equips Dragonbrand Shield)

Gontzo uses free hit on Pretzel - (28 - 16 = 12 damage)

Feldorin uses free hit on Sylph - (23/2 - 3 = 9 damage)

Difur uses free hit on Erik - (21/2 - 7 = 4 damage)

Little Red uses free hit on Nessa - (16/2 - 4 = 4 damage)

Reg uses free hit on Dreyrugr - (50/2 - 8 = 17 damage)

Pretzel's casting sputters out and fails, but Sylph's hits home. It doesn't keep Big Red from restoring Gontzo to full health. Dreyrugr scrambles for his shield, raising it up just in time to prevent a near-fatal blow from Reg. The Sewer Wolves each pick a target and start chipping away. They'll have to think of something quick.

"Me an' Ness can survive four more rounds of that, Pretz' can survive two, Sylph three, an' Drey one or four dependin' on whether that scroll's magic works next round, so I reckon we

repeat, an' maybe Sylph heals Drey. Drey could hit Big Red with his dagger, or pick something up, I dunno. Remember it'd take a while to put that armour or those gloves on, though."

Erik attacks Big Red from the back row with Twin Axe.

"I think so, but it's up to you. You're the toughest guy here, and any of his special moves would knock you out. If you weakened him with your scroll, only one of them would. And if you're going to use the scroll on him later, might as well use it now. It's permanent, isn't it?"

"Alrighty, although I can only take trying this scroll a few more times and while I'm using it I can't hit him with my broomstick, but all is well. What I have to say though, is that it seems to be a waste for a hero who fights primarily in the back row to take the hit from Gontzo since he seems to do full damage whether in the back or the front, so this is what I'll do:

Battle Order:

Dreyrugr: Big Red (Crow Claw Dagger)

>Sylph: Heal Dreyrugr

>Erik: Big Red (Twin Axe: Double)

>Nessa: Big Red (Silver Crossbow)

>Pretzel: Attack Big Red (Flying Cross) if Big Red under 61 HP, if 61 or more, use Scroll of Disenchantment.

"This would leave the vampire at 1 health if Sylph doesn't heal him, but he'll be able to attack from the front row. I would put our druid lower in the Battle Order, but it would mess up free hits. That wouldn't matter tremendously, but since none of us will take damage except from free hits, it doesn't make a difference where he goes."

"Otherwise I'll just use the Scroll of Disenchantment and even if Big Red is low on health we can finish him next round."

"I understand, Pretzel. And it was not only for my but for our all good you sealed me. It is no problem for me. But for me. And somebody has to pay for it." Nessa said as she aimed for Big Red from the back row.

"Good, good, I was a little worried back there."

Nessa should no longer be sealed.

"Ouch, hey you fat rat, that was not part of the deal", Nessa said as she took the hits. She aimed for Big Red from the back row again.
