Vash the Stampede Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Feeling weak from the hit he had taken Dreyrugr got ready to recklessly charge in and hope all went for the best as he attacked big red from the front row.
Myrddyn Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) "Ouch, hey you fat rat, that was not part of the deal", Nessa said as she took the hits. She aimed for Big Red from the back row again. "Look, sorry miss, but Pretz needs to go last so he can see if he should attack Big Red or use his scroll, so if I targeted Little Red to stop her hitting you, you'd just get hit by Reg, which would knock you out, whereas we know that you can survive being hit by the girl, even if it hurts a bit. Maybe next round if the scroll works we can see what can be done about reducing the damage you're taking. Besides, after this battle we might hopefully have a chance to rest and heal back in the gnome town." Erik said, his accent slightly subdued by his panic as he tried frantically to get rid of what he guessed was the less friendly split-personality-or-whatever-it-was-this-time inside Nessa. herrJJ Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 "That is very prudently of you. Now I feel ready to 'bash some evil'... I hope I said it correctly - so I read it once in the library being a call of heroes."

Myrddyn Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) "Maybe Sylph could blind Gontzo, we swap Pretz and Drey in the battle order, and repeat? Perhaps we should avoid healing Dreyrugr if possible so his Mortal hits do extra damage." "Sorry Pretz, I hoped that scroll would work this time. I dunno if you wanna try it again or not, but if Sylph blinds Gonzo and Reg is weakened by your scroll, we should be pretty good for a couple rounds." Erik attacks Big Red from the back row with Twin Axe. Pie, I think you haven't removed Pretzels ether in the stats from the last two scroll castings. Edited July 17, 2013 by Myrddyn
CMP Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 Pie, I think you haven't removed Pretzels ether in the stats from the last two scroll castings. I did the first time, but I think I forgot the second. Thanks, fixed.
herrJJ Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 "Hmm, that could have been better. Well again it is?" Nessa readied another bolt for Big Red from the back row.
Palathadric Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 "Does anyone have any other ideas? I suppose we should continue smashing at him since his fragilization lasts."
Palathadric Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 If we Blind Big Red, he wouldn't heal himself on rolls of Damage, right?
CMP Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 If we Blind Big Red, he wouldn't heal himself on rolls of Damage, right? No, only sealing would prevent his healing. Blinding doesn't do anything - it'd be like blinding a Sage, or sealing Nessa. Effect's there, it just doesn't do anything.
Palathadric Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) But Blinding and Sealing works differently for enemies. Sealing prevents their special damages and Blinding prevents their regular Damage. Blinded - The enemy misses on every DAMAGE rolled for it for three rounds. This also applies to Free Hits.Sealed - The enemy misses on every SPECIAL DAMAGE rolled for it for three rounds. From the FAQ. Edited July 17, 2013 by Palathadric
CMP Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) But Blinding and Sealing works differently for enemies. Sealing prevents their special damages and Blinding prevents their regular Damage. From the FAQ. Yes, but he's not dealing Damage or Free Hits. He's healing enemies instead of them. And you can't exactly miss healing. Still, it's unfair to get around rules like that, so yes, blinding affects him. Edited July 17, 2013 by CallMePie
Palathadric Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Well, we'll try to make do without it. How does the Scroll of Disenchantment work? It's a 50/50 chance of being successful on rolls of 1, 2, or 3, correct?
Vash the Stampede Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Dreyrugr attacks Big Red from the front row or follows whatever plan is thought up.
Palathadric Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 "We won't be able to deal with these free hits much longer while still dishing out a substantial amount of damage, so here is my proposal: Battle Order: >Pretzel: Neutralizer >Dreyrugr: Big Red (Crow Claw Dagger) >Erik: Big Red (Twin Axe: Double) >Nessa: Big Red (Silver Crossbow) >Sylph: Heal Pretzel This will prevent Reg from being a serious damage dealer, but works towards my next plan: Potential Battle Order Next Round: >Pretzel: Paralyzing Venom on Twin Axe >Sylph: --- >Nessa: Nostrum on Erik >Erik: Big Red (Twin Axe: Him and Little Red) Dreyrugr: --- "What think you all?
Myrddyn Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) "Sounds good to me. Except you might want to try that scroll again, rather than burn a consumable?" Edited July 17, 2013 by Myrddyn
Palathadric Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 If I'm not correct the scroll just has a one out of four chance of working. (roughly speaking) "That's a possibility, but I feel my mental strength running low. Really the neutralizer is more or less just for Reg's benefit. I'd rather not delay the plan unnecessarily and it would be wasteful to paralyze someone and then cure them with the neutralizer, but what does the rest of the party think?" I'd really appreciate if you guys would try to speak up more if you have ideas. I've been sick and hardly able to get on the last couple of days, but I've said more than some of you.
CMP Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Slow day. It's a 1/2 chance, Pala, like all scrolls. Round Five of Sewer Wolves Smackdown >Pretzel: Neutralizer - (Everyone loses all effects) >Dreyrugr: Big Red (Crow-Claw Dagger) - Shield: Arrogant Prick (48 x 2/2 = 48 damage, no stun, 3 Tonics and 25 gold stolen, Dreyrugr stunned) >Erik: Big Red (Twin Axe) - Special Damage: Spitshine (Big Red heals himself 20 points, -1 ether) >Nessa: Big Red (Silver Crossbow) - Special Damage: Spitshine (Big Red heals himself 20 points, -1 ether) >Sylph: heal Pretzel (Shrapnel Bow) - No Heal (No effect) Gontzo uses free hit on Pretzel - (28 - 16 = 12 damage) Feldorin uses free hit on Dreyrugr - (23/2 - 8 = 4 damage) Difur uses free hit on Erik - (21/2 - 7 = 4 damage) Little Red uses free hit on Nessa - (16/2 - 4 = 4 damage) Reg uses free hit on Sylph - (25/2 - 3 = 10 damage) Pretzel actives a neutralizer. The entire enemy party seems put-out. Big Red is stabbed in the back (and pickpocketed) by Dreyrugr, so his scrambles away and continues to heal himself, though now unable to restore any ether should he run out....but the party is losing steam. Dannylonglegs Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) "This is what happens when someone else leads." Stated Sylph, unamused. "Let's retreat. We fall back, heal ourselves, replenish our ether reserves and return to finish the job. Next time, we take fewer free-hits, and forget that new scroll. We'll drop a neutralizer if they prepare for our return. The Sleep scroll should have been used earlier, but now we are out of options. Dying here isn't worth anything." Sylph stated, silently but authoritatively. "If I can't heal us all this round, Pretzel or Nessa, you must throw the bomb. Dreyrugr, before we leave, see if you can't snatch the high-elf's stash." Suggested Battle Order: >Pretzel: Big Red >Dreyrugr: High Elf >Sylph: Difur, Shrapnel Bow (if Roots of life is rolled, see alternate order) >Erik: Switch Tricorn with boots >Nessa: Smoke Bomb Alternate: >Erik: Pizza the Hut >Nessa: Combination of two Bond villain names Edited July 18, 2013 by Dannylonglegs
Myrddyn Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Pie, Dreyrugr doesn't have his armour equipped, and Black knight shield makes him stunned. Also, what does Difurs first special do if the target already only has 1 HP? Erik spits out blood. Luckily his parry had taken most of Difurs axe blow, but it'd still hit hard enough to knock Eriks own weapon into his face. "Yeah, we ain't got no more neutralizers, but we aint dead yet. Pretzel can hit Difur and take hits from Reg until Amadea grows a beard, so we're fine there. I'll hit Feldorin with my Titanic Axe and take the hit from Little Red, which'll do for this round, and provided you can get Drey healed up, he can take Gontzo."
