Vash the Stampede Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Also, what does Difurs first special do if the target already only has 1 HP? Nothing I'd imagine. Dreyrugr going into a powerful stab whilst taking items finds himself incredibly tired afterwards and unable to move. If Dreyrugr gets healed by Sylph he will attack Feldorin from the front row.
Myrddyn Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) "Yeah, we ain't got no more neutralizers, but we aint dead yet. Pretzel can hit Difur and take hits from Reg until Amadea grows a beard, so we're fine there. I'll hit Feldorin with my Titanic Axe and take the hit from Little Red, which'll do for this round, and provided you can get Drey healed up, he can take Gontzo." "Actually, that has a problem in that Dreyrugr would need to be healed each turn in order to survive Gontzos shots. Alternatively, blinding Gontzo leaves Dreyrugr stunned this turn and increases the chance of him being knocked out. Or Sylph could save the ether and try summoning his roots. However, my point still stands: It makes more sense to continue fighting this round and possibly flee next round with a few of us knocked out, and have the two clerics heal us to full health for one ether each, than to flee now and have the clerics heal us for one ether each." Edited July 18, 2013 by Myrddyn
herrJJ Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 "Oh fine, another hit on the wall..." Nessa sighed. "Hey you great strategists, if your plan is to ruin me, well, let me tell you: you are doing just great. If nobody has a better option I'll use a smoke bomb and get out of here!" OOC: Well at least I am not good in battle strategy except for 'bash n smash' 'Awaiting your orders'
Myrddyn Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 "Alright, if you're chucking a bomb anyway I'll change into my boots, but I fail to see how fleeing and coming back gives us a significant advantage." "Also, I think it's better to have Drey rob Reg than Feldorin, to prevent him being encouraged when we get back." Erik changes his Tricorn to his Barbarian Boots from the back row.
Palathadric Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 "This is what happens when someone else leads." Stated Sylph, unamused. "Let's retreat. We fall back, heal ourselves, replenish our ether reserves and return to finish the job. Next time, we take fewer free-hits, and forget that new scroll. We'll drop a neutralizer if they prepare for our return. The Sleep scroll should have been used earlier, but now we are out of options. Dying here isn't worth anything." Sylph stated, silently but authoritatively. "If I can't heal us all this round, Pretzel or Nessa, you must throw the bomb. Dreyrugr, before we leave, see if you can't snatch the high-elf's stash." Suggested Battle Order: >Pretzel: Big Red >Dreyrugr: High Elf >Sylph: Difur, Shrapnel Bow (if Roots of life is rolled, see alternate order) >Erik: Switch Tricorn with boots >Nessa: Smoke Bomb Alternate: >Erik: Pizza the Hut >Nessa: Combination of two Bond villain names "If you had done your job of healing we wouldn't be in this mess. You could also have let us know that you have the ability to put enemies to sleep," I retort angrily. "You could've suggested a change a long time ago." Didn't notice you had that scroll somehow.
Myrddyn Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) "I'm pretty sure asleep is just a blind that breaks on damage. No sense casting it, and no sense throwing blame around, what's happened is happened, and to be honest, I reckon it was mainly due to a bunch of mages somewhere far away casting a magic spell to steal all our luck." Once we flee, Nessa, if you don't mind, could we either swap hats for this fight, or I'll swap you my armour for that hide? That way one of the two of us could take Little Reds hits without being injured." "Also, Pretz or someone, grab Dreys armour. We'll need that, an' he can equip it once we've fled. Myrddyn Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Erik listens to the sound of his opponents talking as he follows the rest of the party into the sewers. "Hey, miss Nessa, mind if we swap hats? So'se I can take the little pickpockets hits without being scratched, or maybe you want'a swap armour?"
Palathadric Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 "Demon, hand those tonics to the druid. Druid, you may as well down them and heal us all (besides Erik) while you're at it. What do we want our strategy to be? I imagine the big oaf will be all heavily armoured again, and that elf may have downed some of his consumables. Do you think I should try again with this scroll, if that's the case?" "Otherwise, you could Blind the Elf or the slug or put the slug to sleep. The question is, who do we want our target to be. It's useless to go after the girl early on until we defeat her papa. Her hits are weak anyway. I would think we should go for the healer again, but maybe he's not such an issue." "Does somebody feel that they need a snack before going in?" I hold up my Tasty Pretzel.
herrJJ Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Erik listens to the sound of his opponents talking as he follows the rest of the party into the sewers. "Hey, miss Nessa, mind if we swap hats? So'se I can take the little pickpockets hits without being scratched, or maybe you want'a swap armour?" "Of course, let us swap hats."
Palathadric Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 "So, what do we want our strategy to be? Should I put the paralyzing venom on Erik's blade and we put our luck on him (so to speak), that would eliminate the free hits and enable us to take them down one at a time? Or, should I try to use the Scroll of Disenchantment again, and the Druid attempts to put to sleep Gontzo or so, and we hope to be able to break their free hits like that? Of course, since I can take the most damage, it may be worthwhile for me to attack instead of using a Scroll so we could hasten the druid and I could give him my Scroll. If Nessa gives the Tricorn to the demon, then Erik could tank the girl's hit, the demon could tank their tank's hits, and I could tank one and attack the other of the elf and their captain. Nessa could then take on the cleric, and the druid could attempt to put the fatso to sleep, of course, if Erik goes on the ravage it would probably wake the slug up. Then there is also the fact that the druid will not be able to take many hits from the sluggard if he fails in putting him to sleep or blinding him.
Myrddyn Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Erik swaps hats with Nessa (Erik gets Emerald Hood, Nessa gets Tricorne) He also gives his one coin and the Sharkskin armour to Dreyrugr. "Mind holding on to this for me so Little Red doesn't steal it?" "If we give Drey the tricorne and my sharkskin armour, he can go first, and take hits from Gontzo and hit Feldorin. He'll take no damage from Feldorin, and 16 from Gontzo, so he can repeat this for 2 rounds. Sylph can swap his quiver for Pretzels ethereal cloak and try to blind Gontzo He'll take 6 damage from Difur, so he can repeat this for 6 rounds. But he'll have 2 rounds to blind Gontzo or Dreyrugr will fall. I can take the hit from Little Red for as long as necessary, and paralyse people with my twin axe. Pretzel can maybe work on his scroll of disenchantment and take hits from Reg Goldjaw. He's got enough health to last 4 rounds, but only enough ether to attempt 1 casting. I don't know who I should paralyse first, though. If I directly target Reg, I may be knocked out and the axe would lose its venom. If I target Little Red and hit Reg also, it might take longer for me to successfully paralyse them." Edited July 18, 2013 by Myrddyn
Palathadric Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 "For one, the Ranger may be beefed up, so I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up hastened or encouraged, both of which could be bad news. It would be good for the Druid to take my Ethereal Cloak, I hand it to Sylph, It's not worth it to go for Little Red. You can't paralyze Reg either since he's immune to all negative effects. I would say, if we go with you paralyzing people, you try to take down the first batch. Pretzel: Scroll of Disenchantment Sylph: Scroll of Blinding on Gontzo Erik: Big Red Dreyrugr: Attack Gontzo if Sylph Unsuccessful Otherwise Attack Red Nessa: Big Red Free Hits: Feldorin (who may be encouraged) against Pretzel (Possibly 7 Damage)/Difur Against Sylph (6 Damage)/Little Red Against Erik (No Damage)/Reg Against Dreyrugr (1 Damage?) Dreyrugr may take 17 Damage from Gontzo or be Petrified, but the chances of either are not too high. He may steal his armour back Of course, this is adjustable given the strengths of the enemies and if they are buffed up. Reg actually has a Mead. Scary!
Myrddyn Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) "We could try sending Dreyrugr in, and have him immediately flee, so if Reg drinks his mead, it may have worn off by the time we all fight them properly." "Oh, Drey, borrow my Sword as well. I'm fine with my axes, for now, and it might become handy to have a bit more force behind your blows." Erik lends Voltedge to Dreyrugr. I reckon Reg will be encouraged and Difur Reinforced, as that's how they started, and 1 mead and 1 ambrosia will be gone from their drops. Possibly Gontzo will have drunk a mulled wine, and Feldorin will have taken some/all of his drugs, and those will be gone from drops as well. "Ooh, forgot we had bones, we could use them as well. Edited July 19, 2013 by Myrddyn
CMP Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 Each of you note in bold when you're ready. I assume you still need Sylph to trade things with.
Myrddyn Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 "Now I've got enough armour to take hits from Little Red without any problems, I wouldn't mind tryin' to petrify Difur, so once Gontzo's blind, put Sylph down the bottom o' the order, unless things've gone bad." He turns to Nessa. "I've got a few of these, can't hurt for you t' have some, miss." Erik hands two bones to Nessa, checks he has the hunters plate and emerald hood properly equipped, and stands near the entrance to the room the party recently fled from. "We ready, guys?"
Vash the Stampede Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 "I can look after your money. Thanks for the items. Here Sylph these tonics will be better for you than for me." Dreyrugr hands over the tonics to Sylph and equips voltedge and the armour. This weekend I won't be around the internet so Dreyrugr will follow orders. (Doesn't include giving all his stuff away.)
Palathadric Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 This weekend I won't be around the internet so Dreyrugr will follow orders. (Doesn't include giving all his stuff away.) Curses. Foiled again. "Druid, how much ether do you think you'll need to carry us through this battle? Do you think you'll use what you have and still need a complete refill before this quest is over. I would like to use the fewest consumables possible, if it's all the same. Still victory is more important than all else. If you're putting people to sleep, do you think there's any point in putting the paralyzing venom on Erik's blade? Who do you think could make the best use of a snack right now?" I wave the Tasty Pretzel around.
Myrddyn Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 "I think you'd be best eatin' the pretzel, Pretzel, as if it speeds ya up, well, you can use the extra turn healin' or scrollin', an' you'd be more likely to benefit from extra damage than Sylph, I think. I wouldn't mind seein' your angel again, either, though Sylphs roots are nice as well. As for the venom, I guess it'd definitely help, though we can quite possibly finish 'em without it. Flip a coin, maybe?" It would be good for the Druid to take my Ethereal Cloak, I hand it to Sylph, It's not worth it to go for Little Red. You can't paralyze Reg either since he's immune to all negative effects. I would say, if we go with you paralyzing people, you try to take down the first batch. herrJJ Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 "To spare some ether I have some potions around here. Just as an idea."

Myrddyn Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 "A tonic or two'd be plenty. Put the cloak on, too, it's more useful than your quiver under these circumstances." With the cloak, Sylph has ten ether after healing everyone who needs it. 20 Ether is plenty, tonics are quarter the price of an ether core, plus ether cores are more rare.
Palathadric Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I consume a tonic myself. "Druid, heal us up and drink up those tonics from the hands of the devil, and put on that cloak, will you?" I had to admit it, my patience was running thin with the masked wonder. You didn't bold giving the cloak to Sylph. Also, what do you mean by first batch? Gontzo? The first three. "So, Erik and team, should we go in without me paralyzing Erik's blade or should I paralyze it? It would seem a bit of a waste if he's not lucky and therefore has good chances of paralyzing everyone but Reg."
