CMP Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 "Because you're a generous person with a heart of gold and you just want to help people?" Sarcastically guessed Sylph. "Oh, maybe not. Maybe it's because you hate the Blue assassins and would enjoy knowing they're suffering/inconvenienced so long as it can't be traced back to you?" "No doubt you know the circumstances under my leaving the assassins. It was a matter of fleeing or dying. Perhaps I did fail to follow through on my oaths to the order. But I continue to respect their ways. I have no wish to reignite my differences with them in the case you - or one of your allies, perhaps - is captured and tortured into revealing my location and my ratting them out. It's been a decade, now, but they no doubt still seek me, the only one who's left the order alive and intact."
herrJJ Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 "Well, we could also just publish your location. The Blue Assassins will get to know. So perhaps you should answer us one question as the trump is on our side: why should you not help us?" Nessa said now more powerful and superior.
CMP Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 "Well, we could also just publish your location. The Blue Assassins will get to know. So perhaps you should answer us one question as the trump is on our side: why should you not help us?" Nessa said now more powerful and superior. "Because it'd be easier for me just to kill you all now. Watch your tongue, girl." The halfling coughed harshly. Without the stress of having a blade to her throat, it was easy for Nessa and the rest of the party to see the ex-assassin was quite old, even for a halfling. His threats, then, were either ill-advised on his part, or even more menacing. "But I'd rather not do that. I've already killed plenty n my lifetime, and you seem like...decent enough people, however overconfident." "I'll give you information, and some advice with it." The halfling sheathed his daggers into pockets on the inside of his coat. "Don't end up the old bastard who can't claim to have done any good with their life."
Palathadric Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 "I'll give you information, and some advice with it." "I think you, friend." "Don't end up the old bastard who can't claim to have done any good with their life." "Is there some hidden meaning in the meaning of those words, or is that not the information you meant?"
CMP Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 "Is there some hidden meaning in the meaning of those words, or is that not the information you meant?" "No." "It should be obvious that we're not easily tracked. We move our safehouses quite often. But as it happens, here in Eubric, things are easier. We maintain a warehouse under the guide of a private merchant company. It's one of the smaller ones, just behind the Antiquary. Eubric is a popular place for contracts to be taken out, so you stand a fair chance of finding an assassin there. If the murder was fresh enough, it's likely the assassin is your killer, staying to tie up loose ends they may have left."
Palathadric Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 "Warehouse behind the Antiquary. Got it. Thank you for your information. I hope you understand our need for it. I'm not sure if my party has any further questions for you. I'd really hate to waste your time any longer than necessary. I also hope you're finding your stay here in this village enjoyable," I say rather politely.
herrJJ Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 "Do you have any idea with how many assassins we will have to deal with?" Nessa asked quite keen.
Dannylonglegs Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 "Don't end up the old bastard who can't claim to have done any good with their life." Sylph chuckled. "Thank you friend for the valuable information. Perhaps I judged you too quickly. Alright men, It seems we're needed near the Antiquary."
herrJJ Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Sylph chuckled. "Thank you friend for the valuable information. Perhaps I judged you too quickly. Alright men, It seems we're needed near the Antiquary." Nessa cleared her throat. "And woman, just in case you forgot!"
CMP Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 "Do you have any idea with how many assassins we will have to deal with?" Nessa asked quite keen. "We're not an army. Assassins work alone."
Dannylonglegs Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Nessa cleared her throat. "And woman, just in case you forgot!" Sylph chuckled again. "I did not mean to insinuate that you were a male. This language merely lacks a gender neutral word for what I meant to express."
herrJJ Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 (edited) "It's ok, Sylph, I understand", Nessa said winking. Then she turned to the halfling. "Thank you for your help. I appreciate that." She paused and addressed the party. "I am ready to leave." Edited August 10, 2013 by herrJJ

"Perchance we can stop by Shelby's and the bar on our way out in case they have new goods or anyone has new thoughts on their items." "Also, I wouldn't mind taking a nap to restore my inner strength, but I somehow doubt we have the time as the assassin may leave." Edited August 10, 2013 by Palathadric

Myrddyn Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Erik salutes Posco. "Thanks for your help, sir." He turns to the party. "I'm ready to move on."
CMP Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 "Good luck, then." Posco lies down on his bed with a grumble. "Don't get killed." Information in hand, the party heads back downstairs to prepare themselves for the final stretch of their Quest. They had their target in their sights now. "Hope ye found everything to your liking." The Sluice Tonic - Restores 5 ether to target. Costs 19 gold. Soma – Causes the blessed-effect, allowing the target to recover 3 health at the end of each round for the duration of one battle. Costs 33 gold. Neutralizer - Removes all temporary effects from all allies and all opponents. Costs 29 gold. Spider Venom - Use on a weapon to make it cause the Posioned and Slowed effects for the duration of one battle. Costs 67 gold. Added in a bunch of stuff I forgot (sewer maze loot) and moved things around as requested. I wish you'd divide loot like normal people, this is confusing. If I'm forgetting anything, speak up.
