CMP Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 "Do you think it is possible that we will be able to end the threat posed by this particular necromancer in a non-lethal way?" "Not at all. He is more than a mere necromancer, as you may soon find out. He's part of a cult - the Cold Circle - that reveres Helvetia so fervently they sacrifice both body and mind to appease her. Their love of the unholy and undead has consumed them. The most that can be done is to end their would-be eternal suffering by purging their life and spirit from this plane."

I concur with the Demon Slayer... Peaceful interaction with an illness spreader is impossible. We'd better kill him now than let this cult spread later. I am ready, and with all these transactions accomplished, I believe that makes most of us."

I can't say I liked your looks when we first saw you and would've thought you were a demon in disguise, but you seem a decent sort." I lean in and whisper. "If you're looking for a job we may be able to knock off one of our members and fit you in with us." I turn to survey the party. "Ranger, you've been awfully quiet. Any words? I don't believe I know your name." I put my Flying Cross down and pick up my Cross of Light. "Let's go and bring down some demons, friends." I grin at Dreyrugr. So saying, I enter the room.
Palathadric Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 "Alright then. I hope you will prove your worth in battle Miss Nessa."

"I slay them because they are a threat to all, not because they worship a different god than I. That is not Pseudos' way." The party enters the room, the door swinging open with a creak....and they happen upon a rather horrible sight. A small, musty room, thick with the smell of death awaits them. A single cloaked figure is working away at something on the table, and he doesn't even look up as he speaks. "I swear, Louis, I told you no more pranks, you know damn well how much of a fix we're in right now, this is no time for my door to get me killed." Edited May 28, 2013 by CallMePie

Vash the Stampede Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Nessa whispered to the party: "I don't think we can talk is out, do we?" Dreyrugr whispered back "Judging by the state of this room I'd say unlikely." If he gave the skeleton on the door a name I guess it must have intelligence, yet he let us in anyway. Strange.

He's obviously scared locking himself in here and it probably wouldn't take much to push him for an answer but if I'm not successful there will be no room for quiet negotiations. It might be better if one of you with a friendlier tongue try him first" Dreyrugr silently whispered back.

Monk Pretzel doesn't seem very... tolerant of his type. If he's involved in this plot, you might use his fear to your advantage. Plus, you don't seem to be 100% on the side of the living yourself. He puts the flat of voltedge over his shoulder to make himself more fearsome. He flashes his fangs for good measure while slowly speaking in a terrifying voice to let each of his words sink in. "Hello there Necromancer, I've been trying to get to you for a while. I wanted to meet a man named Rorik but he has been killed, possibly by Blue Assassins. You have two choices, tell me everything you might know or can help us with, or........." Dreyrugr turns his head slightly to look at the sword on his shoulder. "Well I'm sure you can figure the rest out. Some people don't choose the first option, as for their survival rate......" Dreyrugr's smiles evilly to emphasis his last sentence.

The man whips his head around, and suddenly stands, grabbing what seems to be only a large bone from the wall. "What? What is this nonsense?" he snaps. "Have a I killed a relative of yours? Descendant? You waste your time, vampire. I have far more important matters to attend to - chiefly, ridding myself of all of you." He breaks in a hasty, savage chant. The room seems to darken as furniture flies sideways. Beneath the necromancer, a strange white aura begins to form - and after mere moments, a pure white wolf-esque creature has been created, apparently to serve as a sort of mount. Cold hissing. . "I've been meaning to try this summon for some time now. It's no undead horde, but certainly will make Helvetia's power apparent..." The heroes tense. PREPARE FOR BATTLE! Dannylonglegs Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) "Perfect. What kind of Necromancer has no undead horde?" mumbled Sylph. "Obviously our pal Dante the Demon Slayer ought to target the Necromancer, Eric, I'd attack the ethereal beast twice with that new ax you've got. Nessa, why don't you do the same. Monk, you'd do best to target the necromancer too. I'll Fragile the dog from the back row." Edited May 29, 2013 by Dannylonglegs
herrJJ Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Nessa nodded to Sylph's words and simply stated: "Ok." She tried to get comfortable with the bow. She took an arrow, pulled the string back and aimed for the beastial dog from the back row.
Vash the Stampede Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) Can't say I expected it to work. Erik should be at double health due to being inspired. The man whips his head around, and suddenly stands, grabbing what seems to be only a large bone from the wall. "What? What is this nonsense?" he snaps. "Have a I killed a relative of yours? Descendant? You waste your time, vampire. I have far more important matters to attend to - chiefly, ridding myself of all of you." "You're deaf aren't you. I mentioned Blue Assassins which would leave you out of it unless you are a Blue Assassin. And you would dare attack a being blessed by Helvetia. Your a pious man aren't you. Either way you chose option 2." "Perfect. What kind of Necromancer has no undead horde?" mumbled Sylph. "Obviously our pal Dante the Demon Slayer ought to target the Necromancer, Eric, I'd attack the ethereal beast twice with that new ax you've got." "I'd argue that he still uses his old axe. It seems to have a garnet which will cancel out any other immunity the enemy might have and facing a huge axe any enemy would be petrified in fear." Pulling the sword off his back Dreyrugr attacks Vaughn from the front row. Ok 1 in 216 chance of Erik finishing this on his first attack lets see you go. Edit: Net (1 in 3 chance of cancelling enemy hastened effect, 1 in 3 chance of screwing me over) Feedback? Edited May 29, 2013 by Vash the Stampede

At least with two healers, I'll probably be fine attacking from the front row." Erik attacks the helhound with his twin axe from the front row. Vash the Stampede Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 "Blasted creature's Ethereal, so the magic in my axe won't scratch him." "It might be Ethereal but it seems to have an icy disposition which would make it normal."
Myrddyn Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 "Oh, right you are, then." Erik switches to his Titannic Axe, and continues to attack the Helhound from the Front Row.
