Hello there! I think I'll take the Magical Pill. Because I'm magical.

The obvious one for a lynch is jamesn, since he's the "First Day Lynch" character, but let's think a bit outside the box on this one. Nothing has really picked up to me, so I'm going to reread the day thread a bunch of times until something inane pops up.

Well, I certainly don't want to be eaten at random. Unfortunately, random is likely to rule the day, as we have next to nothing to go on for a lynch. Heck, only a handful of people even tried to do something constructive this morning.

The Jester wanted to be lynched all morning. How does (s)he feel about it now?

By this post, do you mean a randomly selected person is better or the vote today by us is likely to be random?

A couple of posts caught my attention. Although it is rather weird for these biological beings to act in such a way in Day 1, I will continue to watch them with my huge eyes.

Here's my thoughts and observations so far ...

The Talking Animal caught my attention initially because of this early on in the day:

But, as Talking Animal just pointed out herself, this was a Day 1 post. I'm putting him in the "??" bucket for now. I think there are others that warrant closer scrutiny.

I also noted The Usurper is being very chatty and I wasn't sure whether this post:

was meant to be sarcasm, given the lack of the " ". Further, we're (or least town) is here is kill scum (and the SK), that's obvious, but his going on about wanting to find the Godfather just seems a little over the top to me. He's labouring the point more than necessary:

The discussion about character names and roles started by The Role Cop also caught my attention. I though The Serial Killer's contributions to this discussion was interesting because he made two posts with flawed logic. The first was this:

Yet The Serial Killer came back with more flawed logic:

If character names and roles are randomly assigned, there's every possibility that someone's name actually reflects their role. Maybe The Serial Killer doesn't want to raise the possibility that a character name reflects the role because he is the SK?

I'm also over the two lovers and suggest they go get a room. That in itself is not a reason to assume either or both are scum. However, The Male Lover has said a bit so far without actually saying anything useful for figuring out who the scum are:

I'm sure I've met The Male Lover before and, if I remember correctly, he was a lot more chatty and helpful back then.

Ok, back to the action, just got back from watching the ball game, yeah, there's actually a tv in the corner if you didn't notice. I can't say as a lot of the chatter has come off as particularly scummy, and I don't want to jump down someone's throat yet for making a comment. I've tried this tactic, it doesn't particularly work. I think a lot of people are overly paranoid right now because what seems to be pinging you guys right now is really just some Day 1 banter. We still have a bit of time, no need to go crazy right off the bat.

More seriously, this SK talk is the first actually scummy thing I've seen today. I noted before that anyone could be anyone according to the rules, so SK's logic errors pinged my radar too.

Yep. This. Haven't seen anything actually vote-worthy yet, so just chillin' here. Too bad that Jar-Jar Binks creep isn't playing, that'd make for an EASY day one vote. You all hated him when you saw the movie. I had to actually CARRY him!

Either way, I'm not sure how "helpful" he's supposed to be when nothing is really going on. He could be Scum for all I know, but your insistence that he's dropping Scum tells for not being more helpful is weird because I don't see what's to help with at this point. Also, the Scum are always hyper aware and everything seems magnified to them. The fact that you're "over" us struck me as odd. We haven't made many posts between the two of us and I don't think our banter is anyway over-the-top or annoying. I'll definitely take your advice to get a room because I love dick, but I wonder exactly what has annoyed you so when I'm quite sure I haven't been annoying. Perhaps I've called your house while you were trying to sleep, trying to get you to apply for a Capital One VISA? Did you want one? You made one valid point though, and that is that there is really nothing going on. I added my views on the little that has transpired so far in the interest of moving things forward.

So, let's take a look at those not participating as much as others.

The Cult Leader (Rufus) - Usually smart and helpful. So far, he hasn't had much to say. He did clarify a rule, pick a pill and lightly accuse The Usurper before running off again and disappearing.

The Night Action Blacked-out Dude (Bob) - offered the ever so helpful suggestion of thinking outside the box and not lynching The First Day Lynch

The Godfather (Kadabra) - Make two jokes and picked a pill. Suggested The Vanilla Townie might be Scum for jumping on jokes. I tend to disagree that the first person making accusations is Scum. I imagine they try to avoid the spotlight Day One, but there's always that pesky WIFOM. And as I already mentioned, I found The Vanilla Townie's accusation post a little off as well. The Godfather is also not paying close enough attention to know he only had one pill to choose from.

The Rolecop (KielDaMan) - Offers the suggestion that low activity is a bad sign for the Town and that we should be discussing things. Since then, he's picked his pill and not contributed.

The Cultist (Fred Daniel Yam) - Apologizes for sleeping and then apparently goes back to sleep.

The Serious Roleplayer (Tamamono) - Talked like a pirate, picked a pill, left. Someone asked a direct question and he hasn't answered.

The NPC (Esurient) - Offers suspicious posts, doesn't explain why they're suspicious, leaves and doesn't bother to clarify when asked.

The PGO (Purpearljellyblob) - Hasn't said much at all and says we should "wait and see". Another player who has been asked a direct clarifying question and hasn't been around to answer it.

The Tree Stump (Adam) - Um, hello? Is thing on?

The Snake Charmer (Darth Potato) - Defended his snakes, picked a pill, disappeared.

The Virgin (Clanure) - Offers us one joke and one pill pick with another joke tacked on.

Well, The Rolecop is right. This low activity could be a bad sign for the Town. With this many inactive people to analyze today, they clearly can't all be Scum. Come on, Town! Make it harder for the Scum to hide amongst the inactive people.

As an extraterrestrial, I tend to take a step back to have a clearer read on these biological beings before saying anything. These biological beings caught my attention because The Talking Animal appears to be talking to The Snake Charmer, but The Ursurper responded to the Talking Animal instead. And when The Serious Roleplayer commented on The Snake Charmer's comments, The Ursurper responded to The Serious Roleplayer. I find it weird because this is not how the social dynamics work in my DAMSMQ-IAANP69 system. But it might be different here in this land. But I agree with The Male Lover that I might be reading too much into these biological beings' behaviour. Speaking of helpfulness...

Suggesting that the Blacked-Out Guy cannot be any killer because roles are not related to characters is woefully bad logic. I agree with the Female Lover and the Vanilla Townie in this respect.

The plural of anecdote is not data, but I agree with you a little. Perhaps it's because The Host has deconstructed the genre and made the roles open that there is not so much first-day-discussion happening.

Thje NPC is definitely weird, but heck, he's been given an alien creature to be. To me, most of the behavior can be explained away by roleplaying, but on the other hand, he (it? Do alien NPCs have gender-determining parts?) isn't really contributing.

I was speaking for the Snake Charmer because

A.) I didn't see whether the Snake Charmer was awake or not.

B.) I was explaining to Talking Animal that those "fingers" were snakes, due to section A. I also felt the need to point out that his logic was off by clarifying the snake situation.

Do know that I considered that he was joking, so it maybe wasn't necessary, but I felt like I should have brought up the logic used, when I wasn't sure if it was a joke o not.
