"And wow! Hey! What’s this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast.

So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like … ow … ound … round … ground!

That’s it! That’s a good name – ground!

I wonder if it will be friends with me?"

I built this hilarious scene from Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" for my LUG's latest vignette contest an decided to wait for Towel Day to upload it.

Best regards,

Stefan

Awesome. And now to look for things to nitpick.....dum-dee-dum....Ok, the only error compared to the book is probably the surface of the planet, which should be barren. I can understand why you chose to change it, to make it more visually interesting.

"Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was Oh no, not again. Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now."

Thanks for this, I've just started reading the series and this part in the book made me go into tears of laughter for a good couple of minutes. The whale's expression is perfect!

Hitchhiker's heck yeah! I think your MOC may have better special effects than the original TV series! Seriously, I love the white "motion lines" above the subjects (I am sure they have some official cartooning name). Great MOC.

Very funny vignette of a very funny scene - I also think the 'motion lines' are a nice touch and the whale is well done.

This is awesome! The whale is simply amazing. I've been thinking for a long time about re-creating a scene from HHGTTG in such a fashion but couldn't come up with anything yet. Though your creation will certainly give me some inspiration.

Hope you did well in the contest.
