Doc_Brown Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 Just thought I would post my latest attempt. Using the servo motor to switch the different switches on/off, you can reverse the motor being powered and thus make the tank turn on the spot. the test worked very well, just need to make a more efficient suspension system and nice running wheels. piterx Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 the switch idea is really smart man :) i have the feeling it goes quite fast too isnt it? Quote
Junpei Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Good idea with the switches! Does this mean your buggy motor crawler is disassembled? Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Noooo! The buggy motor crawler looked EPIC!!! I have never seen anyone mount their buggy motors like that on a crawler. :D I must get myself some! Quote
Doc_Brown Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Noooo! The buggy motor crawler looked EPIC!!! I have never seen anyone mount their buggy motors like that on a crawler. :D I must get myself some! LOL, thanks! I will come back to it. :) Yes it is disassembled. I really want to do something with track atm. :D AND still hav the patria to finish. Quote
Kwon Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Hey thanks for that! Very good solution. Do you have any idea why electronically it doesn't work? I'm fascinated to know. Yes I remember you and your amazing fast response time! Thanks very much, means a lot! I'm glad I inspire, cos others inspire me! WIP update: I'm currently trying to build a quick crawler using the RC motors as I did with NXT motors, proving to be a bit tricky, here is the 5th version, not completed tho. the 16t gear will b the steering. :D thanks for reading! well. Don't the black 16t gears which connected to buggy motor are slipping?Very awesome! Oh hey thats totally cool! The reason they are different is cos I was experimenting with the axle to make it strong enough. This is where I'm upto now. Thanks for noticing it! looks awesome. The chain delivery power well in offroad? Quote
Doc_Brown Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 well. Don't the black 16t gears which connected to buggy motor are slipping? Very awesome! looks awesome. The chain delivery power well in offroad? No they don't slip, cos of the black liftarm is right next to them. haha, no the chain is for the servo so there is minimal lose thu the gears to help steer. As it only turns 45 degrees each way. Thanks for re-posting! seeing this again just gave me an idea I will try. Quote
Junpei Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Nice! How many XL's are you using to drive it? How much did those suspension parts cost you? Quote
Doc_Brown Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) tiny little thing lol It sure it! W. o. W. Thanks! I am so hoping for a tank or apc! One APC coming right up. The Patria AMV nemo version. Nice! How many XL's are you using to drive it? How much did those suspension parts cost you? 4 Xl's, 2 x Servo, and 2 maybe 3 L's. It has cost a lot! I'm almost shocked at the dedicated build cost, which looking at BL and ebay purchases is in excess of $500. But I'm hoping to get a display stand for the Brisbane Lego show so should be worth it! Has anyone every seen a lego show, that had models WITH 3rd party parts, such as tires only for example? LOL MAy have to get some dam Unimog tires. Edited September 2, 2013 by Doc_Brown Quote

HorcikDesigns Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) That 4x4 chassis with rc unit promises very fast car... (I hope...) Edited January 6, 2014 by Gzzig Quote
Doc_Brown Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 That 4x4 chassis with rc unit promises very fast car... (I hope...) Hehe, thanks, it was ok. The suspension wasn't long enough and I was scratching everything on the harsh rocks so I stopped testing. Seemed to stall a bit too when there was a hill. :/ Oh well keep on trying. Thought I would post here instead of making a new thread. I would like to get everyone's input on their fav cars from the 60's and 70's, and maybe 80's In particular those featured in movies. Quote
JGW3000 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Doc, the 64 Chevy from Repo Man is a classic. I had one in the same blue color. The thing was built like a tank. After it got sold in '83,I'd see it running around the neighborhood. Still see them occasionally. Quote
