Just bought a boxed 8868 with instructions & unused sticker sheet for £35 delivered and an 8448 boxed (mint condition & with all original internal packaging) and both instructions books for £60 delivered.

The used 8376 Hot Flame I got from ebay for $110.00 shipped arrived today. It was only missing box, instructions, slick wheels, and one antenna. I made a quick replacement antenna for testing in five minutes. All components work, nothing was fried! Tire tread showed little use. The auction was up for less than 3 hours, I have been checking 8376, 8366, 8475 for some time now for a price I found reasonable.

Had to share with people who might care, my wife just rolled her eyes and said "you paid a hundred bucks for that?" I had to show her 8376 on Bricklink and Ebay to convince her of its value.

Nice, would be interesting to know the actual sets (complete or near complete) in such a find.

I was watching that same hot-flame, and I bet not many knew it had 2× RC motors. I was tempted to join the bidding party but resisted, as I already have 2 copies of such set. Enjoy!

Its certainly common knowledge about those RC sets having the motors.

Years ago you could get the full set (any of the 3) for 40 bucks no problem. Its the only reason I have 14 RC motors which desperately need some Sariel MOC's as a new home.

True, but the pictures on eBay (of the actual set) were not very 'appealing'. Dirty set, missing parts, blurry pictures. I bet the only people who were bidding on that auction knew EXACTLY what it was and how rare the set is. In my experience, not all bidders and sellers always know what they're dealing with.

Three times 42029 at 80 euros a piece and one 42039 at 80 euros a piece, MISB 42007 at 40 euros from BL including shipping and 100 euros for 10242 (maybe not so cheap and no technic) :classic:

I've not been able to match the bargains on here, but I did get 8653 & 8674 for £50 each. The seller had listed them both as incomplete because the Enzo's door mechanism and the F1's steering were both jammed. Five minutes later I'd attached the damped cylinders in the right place on 8653 and used 1/2 pins instead of 3/4 pins in the steering rack of 8674 and I had both sets complete and working having paid half their market value, without adding any pieces of my own.

This one's not so much a bargain, it's more of a "got more than I paid for" - I paid £85 for a used 8461, built once by an adult collector and in excellent condition apart from a lack of stickers, but I was going to get custom-made replica stickers anyway. So imagine my surprise when I flick through the instructions only to find an untouched sticker sheet in perfect condition...

You appear to be a very lucky person! I myself am trying to hunt down an enzo

Got used 8448 with instructions for 33 EUR (including shipping). A bit dusty, stickers are cracked or peeling, with 4pcs. #3 connectors missing (has been assembled as one of available models), but still worth its price - wheels, flex axles and rest of #3 connectors worth more.

I once got 42029 set for $50 + free shipping from Ebay. It was a new set but came in a damaged box (I didn't care about the box). Typically, you can find many great deals (and many crappy deals) on ebay if you try. All it takes is patience.

Some bonkers deals in here. I've had some very good luck in ebay in the past 10 years or so, but it's not nearly as good now as it used to be. Back in 2005/2006 you could get KG of Lego for about £20 (€30) very easily, which is what I did. I'll post a pic once I get all the stuff (it's still in bags in the attic!).

My best bargain recently was the following, which I won for £0.99.
