Where on earth do you keep getting these amazing bargains?!

If I told you that I'd have to hunt you down & run over your toes

You can add me to that list Grum, whatever price I have to pay for your secrets would be worth it in the money I'd save on sets!

Oh, here's one I neglected to mention; last summer I purchased the 31313 Mindstorms EV3 (Home) set from an ex-catalogue seller for £165. I know Mindstorms are relatively easy sets to pick up with big discounts, but to get almost half off so soon after the set was launched seemed too good to pass up.

Just got my second 8285 Tow Truck including the ever so expensive Metal Hook, this one for 84 Euros plus only 9 Euros in Shipping, domestic here in Sweden :classic:

It is borderline Technic... They are Creator sets but some Technic functionality and pieces. I just bought 4896+4993, both unopened for total of 168 euros. Please tell me I did a good deal. These are my first investment purchases that I do not mind getting stuck with. Not going to open them in a while just to be sure.

My spending is getting out of control... Is there a Lego Shoppers Anonymous thread?

I think my best Technic bargain was about one year ago, when I saw some LEGO for sale in a web market. From the pictures, there were two big boxes, and in one of them I spotted parts of 8258 an 8053. I had both of them already, but they are good for parts also. I bought it all for NOK (Norwegian kroner) 1500,- (around 170 Euro at that time). No boxes or BIs, but the LEGO was in very good condition, including applied stickers (I normally don't apply stickers myself). I started identifying sets/counting parts, and have so far identified the following complete sets:

8258

8053

8256

8262

8291

9393

8293

Also these non-Technic (but still useful parts) sets were complete:

2263

5893

In addition there is still a box of apx. 7 kg of LEGO not sorted yet, a mix of mainly Technic, Bionicle, City and Creator stuff. May be there are still some complete sets to be found there.

picked up 42032 tracked loader for less then €8 this weekend

Not the most interesting build, and doesnt match my interests in technic, but at that price it makes a marvelous parts pack

There was an 8443 next to it, too, for £1.75, but I didn't buy it as I didn't think what was in the box would actually be the model. It was gone the next day so someone else got a bargain at least.

£3.25 from a charity shop, all pieces accounted for.

Can't beat that but, like everyone else here, I'd like to. Great find. Well done.

Volvo 42030 for $220 USD. But the box got damaged in shipping. So the seller said keep what's left, I'll send another. 90% of the power functions parts made it. Sadly, a couple wheels are missing as well as some bags, But I've got a full set and 3/4 of another

I got a new 42036 for just under £20 from Amazon's current Argos-taunting sale, as well as a PF IR Receiver V2 for £14 from a Bricklink seller also having a sale. That same seller was offering the new rack and housing assemblies from 42043 for about £3, so I got two just to see what I can do with 'em.

I do enjoy a bargain, but nowhere near that charity shop find 8868

I obtained a 7344 and an 8654 plus loads of random bits for about £20 from a friend a few years back, who's kid had stopped playing with them.

More recently an 8265 for £25
