Sometimes flea markets can really pay off. I just bought 8275 motorized bulldozer for 30€. It did need 10€ in brickink to replace some missing parts.

It works great and has barely been played with from the look of the pieces.

Anyone interested? Here, three of those sets alone are 350$ good condition each.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Technic-lot-42042-42006-42009-8047-42053-8063-8416-42030-mor-/322646386900?hash=item4b1f3928d4:g:iOoAAOSws19Zgydi

I would love them all, but don't have that kind of money.

They are:   #42042, #42006, #42009, #8047, #42053, #8063, #8416, #42030, #8069, #42054.

*huh*  Which 3 sets go for $350 each in used condition?  I don't see one that I couldn't get for about $200.  No way I'd pay $1500, maybe $800.

Maybe they are less now, I thought they were 350 for 8043, 42009, 8047.

No way, 200$ is more or less the value of those.

There's no 8043 in the lot and we're talking each.  Not that this really matters.  I'm just saying that $1500 doesn't seem like a deal for used sets.

Ohh, I mistaked 42006 for 8043. Apologies.

Default price 185 in local store. Yes, with discount of -33%, but they always have discounts, so it's almost default price.

Not in Sweden :)

Edit: lowest price in Sweden right now, 2040 SEK / 215€

I keep my eyes on facebook marketplace and you generally find some stupid good deals...

Right now in Boston there is a guy selling an Arocks new in the box for 135 dollars.
I've also picked up a 50 pound lot for free as people move or get rid of them.

Heads up for Canadians, Costco now has 2017H2 sets:

https://www.costco.ca/CatalogSearch?keyword=lego+technic&pageSize=96

Notable discounts:

42070 - $260 CAD vs $370 MSRP

42069 - $175 CAD vs $240 MSRP

Saw that yesterday.. Took the plunge on the 42070 despite the not-so-hot reviews.  I figure this price makes the value more reasonable.  Undecided if I'll keep it shelved as a collectors item, or build it..    Just wish Costco would add the Porsche to their inventory!      For others, the Class (42054) has been at $169 for a few weeks now.  Back in Aug, then dropped it to $159 and I managed to grab a unit before the price bumped back to $169.  Great set at a great price.

Edit:  Dont forget that Walmart.ca has an AdMatch policy, so you should be able to get the price matched.  Keep in mind Costco shipping is included!

I managed to snag a 42070 at Costco.ca for $260 CAD.  Ordered Thurs, got it next day.  Now they are gone...  Seems like it was only up this past week. Steal of a price given all other stores were selling for $370 CAD

I'm unlikely to ever get 42055 due to lack of interest and space for all the bits, but I coveted them yellow gear quadrants.

So it was nice to get 8 of them for £3 from that there ebay (vs. ~£11 on Bricklink / £8.24 from Bricks an Pieces). It's unfortunate that the gear teef are not on the outside of the curve; they could have been great for making bascule bridges.

As far as bargains go, I pretty happy with my latest Ebay buy - a giant bulk lot of (working) Mindstorms parts, including:

  • 1 x RCX 1.0 brick
  • 1 x USB tower
  • 1 x serial tower
  • 6 x 9v motors (71427)
  • 6 x rotation sensors
  • 4 x temperature sensors
  • 3 x light sensors
  • 8 x touch sensors
  • 27 x 9v cables of various lengths
  • 4 x NXT/EV3 cables (including 2 converter cables)

800x552.jpg

Total Bricklink value $400+, but I got it for only $83... :sweet:

Just goes to show, the longer you wait, the better deal you get... And I've waited a very long time to get some rotation and temperature sensors - about 5-6 years in fact...
