That is a awesome price, the two tumbler tires are nearly worth that by themselves.

I'd still parts bin it though

I can see it might not be for everyone (namely because of the stickers) but I'm a big fan of the set. Now if only I could find 42038 to get those black sprockets and torque tubes...

They have 42100 at a great price but i don't think they deliver to the UK...

sorry, bol.com do..

They do deliver to the UK, shipping is 12 euro's.. combined cost of £289 delivered. Thats a good price! If you're after 42100, i'd recommend bol.com - its all in dutch, so i just used the google translation which has worked great.

A big thanks! Just ordered the 42110. :sweet: bol.com delivers in Luxembourg. I regularly order Dutch books there ...

Awesome, glad to see some fellow EB-ers sharing in the deal.

(if you happen to have the budget and not have it yet, id suggest getting the bugatti as well, €225 is an insane price for that set)

I found it earlier today myself, also ordered the 42110:laugh::thumbup:. I just now visited this topic with the idea of posting the opportunity, but you beat me to it.

Apparently it is only on sale today (CET) so you have just under 7 hours left to get something for yourselves.

Had it in my cart yesterday, when I went to the checkout it was gone. Sold out... Now it is 150 again.  Waiting for the next opportunity now :)

I think bol made it pretty clear that it was a one-day deal.

Got mine delivered yesterday, it is quite an impressive box, and feels pretty filled up.

As I age I am finding the value or history.  With that in mind, I have the opportunity to pick up both 8880 and 8860 for 125 each.  Little bit of a drive but definitely worth it IMO.  Lets hope all goes well......Off to pick 'em up.....

To those who read this.... I neither played with Technic that early in life nor previously was a collector.  So I do not know these sets.  However, I have read Blakbird's review on Technicopedia and based on comments from others throughout the years I assume these sets would be worth it.  Thoughts?

I was impressed with 8859 when it came out, but could not find original, so I have build it some 15 years after released... 8860 have since 2004 (found one for ~~ 60USD), IMHO this sets are classic and they are worth it, specially when you got box and instructions.

Wow!  60 USD?  Half the price of what I am getting mine for

But it was long ago and seller in Germany wanted to get rid of older sets...it was a time when LEGO enthusiasts (here in Europe) did not look that way or as collector's subjects...I bought it mainly because I needed 24 x 43 tires and set was cheaper than separate tires ... Today I see that it is a great set as it was when I was a kid.

Im going to ruin everyones year with this one (especially nerdsforprez :P ), i found a 8880 yesterday, in box (albeit the box was terribly scuffed up), with manual, missing only four small pieces, for only 25 euros at the local thrift shop.

Picked it up, sorted and checked the inventory, and now it is underneath the christmas tree waiting for a friend who expressed his interest in my collection a while back, and said he'd like to build something again.

Mind you, that is only because i already own 8880, if i hadnt, this puppy would have gone into my own collection.

EDIT: al this talk of 90s sets makes me want to pick up 8440, i remember ogling that in the catalogs, such a cool racecar

In Finland there's a campaign that just started: you can collect stamps in Citymarket grocery chain stores and for every three stamps you get a 40% discount for a certain selection of sets. This selection includes the new Catamaran (42105) and Porsche 911 RSR (42096) and also the Getaway car (42090). The discount translates to 29,97; 107,97 and 16,17 euros respectively, which especially for the Porsche is a bargain considering it's new (not a secondhand) set.

Going to pick up my Porsche later today.

I was waiting for the new sets to come to Croatia from 1.1. (I was on holiday), but nothing. So I gave up going to the toy store...

Today was the first time I saw them, in a general store, and the general store had a discount on all toys 30% :)

I got the 4 small ones for 50euro, It is not by far the largest discount I had but it made me really happy today. It kind of made up for me having to wait for them so long :)

Years back I got 8435 and 8436 for around €100. The deal also included 10018. I had no interest in Star Wars, so I tore 10018 apart and stuffed it away. Turns out that one is worth at least €600 to €700 nowadays...

Years ago I bought two 9398s that had been vandalized at a thrift store. They were missing some panels, the portal axle hubs, and all the electronics. The wheels were still there, though. I ordered the electronics and other missing parts from Lego. Total cost, ~$70-75 USD.
