JGW3000 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Today, 20 % off at TRU on a 9393 tractor, purchased on a whim (yes, its a small purchase, but now sold out at S&H) Quote
1974 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 That's got to be the deal of a lifetime! I bricklinked the important parts (remote, receiver/batterybox, steering unit, two antennae and two motors), and it cost me a small fortune! The "paddles" are for the "aux output" on the receiver. It will drive a motor clockwise or anticlockwise depending on which is pressed. As far as I know it has never been used in an official set, but I suppose you can use it to control a sequential gearbox, or just lights for that matter Thanx I've made even better LEGO deals than that. Also picked up another 8366 for 50$ today. Gonna have a nice race with my son this weekend Quote
S.I Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Things I saw but ended up not buying: the blue container truck for 40 euros, the combine harvester NIP for 35, and the tractor + trailer NIB for 75. Trying to save for the new 2014 sets. Quote
DanFraser Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 My missus just picked up 9396 for £25 sealed. Quote

Technic-Kobaltz Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 My missus just picked up 9396 for £25 sealed. @Dan, I thought Shaw's £35 9396 find at Asda was a good buy, but at £25, that's a steal. Where did she find that? Quote
Dutch_EE Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Two great deals for me. 15 Years ago 1998, I could pick out a gift for my 11th birthday. In the toystore I found a brand new 8459 pneumatic wheel loader. On the price cart there was a price (in Gulden, about € / 2,3) which said either ƒ 109,00 or ƒ 189,00. The middle number wasn't clearly vissible. Then my mom said, "If it is 109 you can have it". At the cash register, the clark looked at it and said it was ƒ 109,-. No barcode reader installed. So I got it as my birthday present. At home I looked at the label again and it was ƒ 189,00. Every year the toy stores in the Netherlands give out a new toy book with their latest bargains (not). Every year they also have an action to draw more people in the store to buy more. This year at the end of September they had a 20 % off on all Lego. Ones I realized that this reduction was not on the Lego ShopatHome price but on their prices, I quickly went to the store and baught the 42009 Mobile crane. It was 1 of only 2 in a radius of 30 km around my house. Lego SaH price € 199,- Intertoys price € 159,- what I paid € 119,- That is a total of 40 % off. I still haven't opened it, although it is now past my birthday. Maybe something to build during the Christmas holyday. Quote
peter_m Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I bought a new 8110 without a box/all bags sealed (for my sister - a new Technic fan ) for $167 - which seems to be a good price. Quote
DanFraser Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 @Dan, I thought Shaw's £35 9396 find at Asda was a good buy, but at £25, that's a steal. Where did she find that? In a local pawn shop, apparently a return from amazon. No bits missing :) Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Missed out on a 42009, from TRU, for $170 with free shipping - they had mis-coded their discount, the website this morning was giving - save $25 for every $100 spent ($240 discounted to $220 saving $50 = $170). Finally decided this afternoon, why not, but they fixed the code, now its only a $25 savings, so not tasty enough. Quote
CisFran Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Got the 42009 for $157 from a local shop here in Suisse. they offered 30% off for all Technic...Still waiting for the 50% off early next year! Quote
peter_m Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 €161 for 5571 (no box, original instructions) with chrome 68.8x24 wheels and additional parts that cover majority of studs. I am pretty happy with that purchase :) Quote
CisFran Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 chrome wheels on 5571 black cat? I would love to see those! Quote
peter_m Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) chrome wheels on 5571 black cat? I would love to see those! I will post a picture as soon as it is delivered to me :). I recommend buying on ebay.de - there are lots of nicely customized models e.g. 5571 I have mentioned. I have also bought there the10220 VW Camper in tan instead of red (with chrome parts). Update: 8455 for 66.5 Euro (used, with box and instructions) Edited December 15, 2013 by peter_m Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 LEGO S&H has now discounted some 2012 Technic sets 30%, I just picked up the 9397 Logging Truck for $97 Quote
malkhaz Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 It would be better if everybody indicates the place where you bought it - I mean website or store name. thanks Quote
Freekysch Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 I think my best Technic deal was getting 8285 at 100 € complete (non silver rims version tho). Quote
JGW3000 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) ...and for you late risers in the US, shop.Lego.com is now sold out of the discounted sets Edited December 26, 2013 by JGW3000 Quote
NevynPA Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I just got a mostly complete 8838 for $10; the only thing that seems to be missing are the handlebars. Wheels, shocks, chain, everything else is there. Going price here is ~$30 USD. I'm chasing down a 9393 NIB for $28, too. Quote
