I dreamed of it

Definitely a must-buy for who can afford it !

I wonder if the trees are tall enough to let an AT-ST go between ?

May be two sets will be needed

Win, win, win!

Bought on sight. That is just too gorgeous to pass up. I might need two. Now if Lego can just make a ghost set of Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Anakin that set would be complete.

I have talked forever about how the Ewok village would be a must have if made. Now to start saving.

My wifes reaction to this set has been amusing. She has a thing for Ewoks, but she also has a thing against me spending $250 on Lego (that she knows about... I operate on the don't ask don't tell rules). So this one has left her conflicted. "How much? But but Ewoks!"

Good to know of another Ewok-lover. Some people will have aversions to anything. Jar Jar, sure, but Ewoks?

To avoid heated debate now, that is the most entertaining price-over-content struggle I have heard of. Your wife is pretty cool, judging by her savvy reaction to the Council of Elrond set, detailed earlier in the LotR/Hobbit thread. Hope that the Village doesn't become another living room attraction, though!

I keep seeing this comment posted different places, and I suspect these figs would be great candidates for May the 4th specials!

Well, that would discourage people from the set, which would ruin its purpose. The minifigs are some of the greatest appeal to the set, so to remarket them in exclusives would take away the appeal to some extent.

I think he was referring to Force Ghost figs

Ah, I see. I didn't understand. But now (re)starts the debate about the possibility of the figures. Answer: they can't be fully transparent. Why does everyone care about them so much anyway? It's a cool little scene that lasts a few seconds. Not too much to get upset about. :classic:

I like how many forum members hated the idea of ewok village and know everybody is loving it

While the set is great, I doubt I'll be buying it soon... Maybe, if it sticks around for as long as the Death Star has, but I definitely won't be jumping the trigger on it the second it comes out. I love Eworks and the tree design, but it just doesn't do the *wow* effect for me. In any case, I'll be getting myself some Ewoks, one way or another

Mostly I think the Force Ghosts were originally wanted because they're unusual. Just the concept of a transparent Jedi seems awesome. Also, weren't there Force Ghosts in the video games? I think they were one of the most expensive characters to unlock, and they were practically invincible, or something like that. I don't remember exactly; it's been too long since I've played one of those games. I vaguely remember playing one of those and then wanting a Force Ghost minifig. Nowadays I think people want them just because they're the ones were keep saying we want that we can't have.

This or Orthanc :/

That's my biggest dilemma too...

Actually, I'd probably go with Orthanc in this case (and save up for the Ewok Village). If 10188 is any indication, then Lego likes to keep their large Star Wars playsets on the market for quite a while.

Youtube user Jangbricks already bought the set and has a very detailed review of it on his channel in two parts.

I'd have thought that they're wanted simply because people want them to be in sets and MOCs depicting scenes in which they appeared - the same reason for which they'd typically want any other minifigure. I'm really surprised to learn it was anything more complicated than that for anyone else.

The first thing on my Christmas list...

BTW is out in England yet?

Can't wait for Christmas! I'll mention to my wife about the S@H freebies for next month, she should order it then.

I bought this set yesterday and have only built the speeder bike, catapult, and the standalone tree.

Up to this point - that also means putting together the two scout troopers and two Ewoks (including Wicket).

So far it's a really fun set.

If I recall correctly - there are 15 or so bags numbered up to 11, two unmarked bags, one loose plate, three instruction booklets, and a small sticker sheet with 3 stickers.

One note that I thought was really cool: one of the stickers is a heart with four Aurebesh letters (http://starwars.wiki...m/wiki/Aurebesh).

If you look up the letters, it spells out the following:

LEIA
