Alternator Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 It looks very nice As a bit of speculation (I haven't heard anything) I'm looking at this set wondering if that leaves space in Lego's product line for the 10188 Death Star? I'm hoping it remains available, but my paranoia tells me that it has been available so long because it is probably popular as a high end playset and that this particular set could take over that role? The JMC Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I was really hoping we were going to get a redesigned Chewbacca but alas I don't think that will ever happen. Quote
DarthBrickus Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I like the tree-village a lot, i am a bit disappointed about the other parts being more or less exact repeats of the endor battle pack and ewok attack. Quote
just2good Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 That looks fantastic! These D2Cs are getting better and better. Between this and Orthanc... Quote
Rogue Angel Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Amazing! This far surpasses my expectations for this set! The only negatives IMO are the non printed Leia legs, and no Endor Han. Amazing set nonetheless! 4 Trees! 3 new Ewoks! Such beautiful details! Stunning! Quote
robuko Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 This is a win for AFOLs. Worth it on parts for MOCers, incredibly generous in minifigures, great design (of course, like all of Marcos'!) et c. I has zero interest until I saw it and now I think it is probably worth getting. Conceptually it's a bit odd though. It's designed for kids to play with, but the price point is too high even for a main Christmas present, and it's still a recession in a lot of the world. I think Alternator is right, the only way it fits is to replace the Death Star playset. Quote
Hive Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I don't collect SW LEGO, but wow... this set is absolutely stunning, one of the best LEGO sets I have ever seen. Amazing job. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 This is the first Star Wars D2C that has me hooked . The details, the features and, ohhh, those figures. They have managed to make Wicket look cuter, very soon we will be able to rule the world with an army of Ewoks . The Australian price has not been announced, but I know it is going to be expensive. I guess we will see… Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Really amazing set, only thing is that it could have used an AT-ST or even a new Imperial Shuttle. The Imps don't really have anything substantial in this set; but it's still a beauty. Quote
Cammo Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) Man I'm happy I'm not a Star Wars fanatic. What a beautiful, yet very expensive set. Even if you aren't interested in the SW universe, it is still a great piece set for MOCers. It reminds me a little of the Calypso marches from PotC. And look at all those minifigures! Wish the LotR would have come with that many figures although I understand that SW deserves it after all these years with LEGO. I have to admit that the Ewok Village is the best exclusive of this year. (Yes even better than Orthanc or Arkham Asylum.) (Don't shoot me. But I haven't seen this SW film yet. Only saw Episode I, II, III & IV) This is episode V right? Best part for me is the bridge. The box makes it so appealing. Lego should start printing their backgrounds in the inside of their boxes for display purposes. BTW the bonfire where Han is tied to... Isn't that the exact same build as the one in the Cannibal Escape set? Edited June 1, 2013 by Cammo Quote
Chills Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 EXCELLENT!!! This set is way beyond my expectations. It has so many features, from the net that catches the Rebels, to the fire spit, the helmets used as drums. Tall trees, awesome playability, and a ton of minifigures. I cannot wait for this set to be out! BTW, also agree with Drastic Plastic: the stormies should have had printed legs. Quote
Mr Man Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 (Don't shoot me. But I haven't seen this SW film yet. Only saw Episdoe I, II, III & IV) This is episode V right? VI . Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I keep looking for something negative to criticize here, but honestly... I love it. It's an extensively beautiful set with an amazing array of figs to go with it. And yet... I will not get it. That's just too much, beyond what I'm willing to spend for a single set. I used to be a Star Wars completist, and at one point had a complete collection of the theme... But once they started dropping Death Stars, enormous shuttles, and Executors on us, that trend had to end. I'm not bitter that TLG aims so high with these-- obviously there's a worthy collectors market for these monstrous sets-- but unfortunately I'm not one of them. Congrats to all of you that will be lucky enough to pick this up! Quote

Isn't that the exact same build as the one in the Cannibal Escape set? Fanatic or not, you're missing out. I recommend you watch Episode V Empire Strikes Back, and VI Return of the Jedi. They are quite epic. The bonfire rack, does look similar to the POTC set. Quote
Orange Leader Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 While I think the price is steep, It's a set that is worthy of considiration. Quote
GRogall Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Beats the hell out of the Kenner one I had as a kid! will gladly get this one! Quote

Darth Dino Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Hi firstly, we have to be care since now about GRogall and what he is telling us. From this point now he could lie and predict sets that never been happen we would believe it right from the scatch. Once again he have been a very good source for news. About this set: It cool, well designed, with lots of playablity. I think it will replace the DS. I donot worry muc about the price, those 17 figures are worth 50-70% of the whole set. That makes a brown and tan eldorado for just 100€£$. I would say: Buying that set a least means just to rent it. No way this set will be cheaper on the resale market after it discontinued. So why waiting? It's still not September! :( Dino Quote
Zzz Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Conceptually it's a bit odd though. It's designed for kids to play with, but the price point is too high even for a main Christmas present, and it's still a recession in a lot of the world. The other day I saw an ebay auction for new SW sets which were meant to be easter presents for 2 boys who didn't want them. They were about 160€ retail price. People spend amazing amounts on toys for their kids these days, which cannot be translated to the amounts our parents spent back in the days. Also, as bitter as it sounds, if you belong to the people who usually can afford 250€ on a toy, you probably didn't even notice any effect of the recession in your life. Recession always hits the lower class first. Back to the topic - it's a beautiful set, no question. But the Ewoks are the Gungans of the old trilogy to me, so there's no real reason to spend so much on that faction. Also them changing Leias clothes and doing her hair still freaks me out. I got it in Jabbas palace, there she was a mistress/ slave. But here? Those creatures? Freaks me out. Also I didn't like Episode VI. It's worse than Episode II I would say. / rant over It's a lovely set and I admire everyone who'll get it! Quote
ISDAvenger Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) Blasphemy!!!! Just kidding. ROTJ used to be my favorite one out of the OT, but now since I prefer the Empire, my favorite has changed to ESB. Also I didn't like Episode VI. It's worse than Episode II I would say. / rant over I bought one of the POTC sets to do just that, but still have yet to do it. The Ewok Village will change that now. Haha, I have been using the POTC set along with my endor stuff. as you get all the important bits, (Han on roaster, Chewbacca in cage, C3P0 chair and a little hut!) Kez Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 This set does look really good, although Im not a Star Wars fan, but to be honest I'd rather have the tower of Orthanc set, because it has a better price per piece ratio and I love LOTR, but the only bad thing about it is that it only comes with 5 minifigures This set does look awesome and well designed and if I was a Star Wars fan I would definitely buy it. Quote
Commander Turtle Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Great set! I'll be going for Orthanc, but this should definitely please those who get it. If only the price/piece were a bit better for the size! Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Hhhmmmmm... Grogall drops the price, and a week later we get pictures. Can't help but wonder if we see the Opera House & Winter Market next, and soon!? Quote
Roger_Smith Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 That's an amazing set. Way too expensive for my taste (not a Star Wars fan, though I like the original movies), but damn, that looks like a great and entertaining build. While I never liked the Ewoks (not even as a kid when I first saw the movies), I always liked their treehouse village, so this has got me drooling. Quote
