Historica is still an unsave place. Nobody knows what really happened to Victor Revolword and there are still groups of HoC-soldiers raiding villages.

But in these dark times, Lord Damaximus will be married with Lady Julia Xavier, daughter of the Consul of Morastia. The marriage itself will be in Morastia, but there will be a big celebration in Mpya Stedor as well. Lords, celebrities, kings, troubadours, traders, ... from all over Historica and other places in this world will come to the city. Needless to say that in order to guarantee everyones safety, a lot of soldiers will patroll the city and the walls.

As Mpya Stedor is also a (very rich) port, a lot of people will come by ship and they will all have to set anchor in the Ghuba-Ya Biashara (the bay in front of Mpya Stedor) . So to guard these ships, Lord Damaximus ordered some very fast and strong vessels.

The flagship of those vessels is The Amazon. To add a little more prestige to it, the captain of the ship is nobody less then Admiral Bostoximus. Together with Henry The Sailor, he is teacher at the Mpya Stedor Naval Academy and is specialised in naval warfare.

The captain of the naval troops is General Ivoximus.

As their names indicates, they are both men of honour in the Guild of Ximus (otherwise they would have been called Ivo the Archer for example  )

Anyway, "The Amazon":

The countdown to the wedding can begin

Personal note:

I didn't really planned to build a real vessel. I was trying to make a slave-sloop for in my city, but while constructing, I saw the opportunity to make finally a nice vessel

If I had the right bricks, I would have done some things otherwise, but based on the collection availabe, I am really happy with the result :classic:

I know the background could have been better, but it are exams for me, so I prefer spending my breaks with Lego instead of creating a nice background

C&C is ofcourse welcome!

so great you finally made a decent ship, it will go right to the new ship index I'm currently compiling. cog or caravel I wonder ...

Other than that, totally nice!

My criticsm: your sailors actually don't look medeival at all but rather 18th century, you might wanna change that. Also, if you turned your main sail into a square rigged sail, it would fit as a good example of a cog. Furthermore, steering wheels too are an invetion of the 18th century. Just take it off

I originally created a square rigged sail, but my brother told me that a triangular would work better...

About the steering wheels: my bad  I didn't really build it with an example beside me

About the sailors: they got a bow and not a rifle :look: And they are supposed to wear another hat (an armada helmet), but those are stolen by some new Wall Guards recruits...

Edit:

Also eastern ships had more often a triangular sail, so that's why I followed my brother on this one :classic: Like I said, I do have to admit I let my fantasy work and didn't looked to real medieval models on google

Thanks allready to everyone!

Nice ship! As this is a fantasy world, I think that the figures and wheel are fine.

Is true  And I still think the costumes of the imperial guards and soldiers really fit the Kaliphlin colours! (especially the newer redcoats)

Oh btw, Kaliphlin dibs on the Revolutionary Soldiers!

If you give them a brown quiver, a brown longbow and a brown hat, they are really looking amazing!! (they are my innercity naval douane and will make their appearance very soon!)

well, that's why I compiled the ship index: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=83061

I will use this in the future

Nice ship! Always good to see Historica's fleet grow. The anchor and interior detailing are what stood out to me most

It are the things I did last :classic:

Honestly, that was the dumbest idea ever of me to do the interior after I completed the ship :look:

Very nice ship, DM, and the triangular sail looks excellent too, IMHO. Only criticism would be on the minifigs (it still looks like a bunch of 18th century soldiers went and traded they weapons with Indians to me  ).

Nice addition to the Kaliphlin fleet! I think the anchor design is a really nice detail, and the triangular sail works well for a southern vessel (but maybe a bit small for a ship of this size?). The minifigs look a bit too "recent" in my opinion, but as this is a fantasy world and not a recreation of an exact time period I think they work out ok as well :)

I agree with keeping the wheel, its a fantasy build, I guess Kaliphlin invented that too... But yeah, a whipstaff would have been more to the period.

Great looking ship though. I hope to get some of GEAR Co's navy out and a bout this summer.

It's very nice, I wouldn't bother too much about historical accuracy, take this fantastic ship for example: Scarlet Snake (by Yawgmoth), It would fit in perfectly eventhough it's a very unusual design.

I'm alright with the sailors and the sail as they seem very Kaliphlin to me....plus I am not much of a ship historian, so I don't know what fits and what doesn't. Plus, I cant make a ship to save my life, so when I see a cool ship, I just recognize it for that....a cool ship!

I like the ship- but I am with kabel, get some medieval soldiers bra!

Hahaha thanks guys!!!

About the minifigs, they are my naval soldiers, not my land soldiers so probably you will only see them again if I make a new ship in the future

If I was a Mitgardian or Avalonian member, I would never have used them, but Kaliphlinites do like fancy clothes and the soldiers have the Kaliphlin colours in their clothes (red&blue) :classic:

But I do have to admit that I was already planning to change their hats :classic:

Great job on the shape and the addition of Kaliphlin attributes. But what I like most is the interior, a bit small but enough attention for detail.

Furthermore, steering wheels too are an invetion of the 18th century. Just take it off

I didn't realize that actually, but it sounds logic... Good suggestion for my new ship.
