Nightstalker Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 With our fort now established on the Qar-Akhen River, Lukan and I set off towards the Rakath Mountains. We had heard rumors of desert bandits making their home somewhere in the mountains, however, we were not expecting to find mummies. I recall hearing several citizens of Mypa Stedor mention a group of mummies that were allied with Kaliphlin, but these guys obviously weren't. We're going to have to tread lightly; we can't afford to keep getting ambushed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall MOC I'm slowly starting to work on taking different angle shots so here's one of the "interesting" shots. MOC without figs http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nightstalker580/Historica/Patrol/dsc01751.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nightstalker580/Historica/Patrol/dsc01752.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nightstalker580/Historica/Patrol/dsc01753.jpg --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope you enjoyed the MOC. With any luck, I'll be able to follow this up with something better. I just got back to building after having a huge house renovation (couldn't get to my pieces). As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!! Quote
SkaForHire Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Good work, nice rocks, nice pictures angles. Better light may help, but without knowing what you are working with, it may be hard. You have a good white background, but getting more light (without shadows) will really brighten this up and make the details sharper. I like the action posing, the shield is very cool. Quote
Gideon Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Nice action scenes! But I agree with Ska, some more dim light (cloudy outdoors?) would help in getting the details come through Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Great action and the cliffs look good interesting way to incorporate guild colors as well Quote
Nightstalker Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Yeah, my light set up isn't necessarily the greatest primarily because I don't use outdoor light. It also doesn't help that due to recent home renovations, I can't take pictures where I normally do (which is on a dining room table). In terms of the light I do have, I usually have 5 lights surrounding the area with the 6th one being right above the MOC. Quote
-obelix- Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Great action scene. The second shot is definitely my favorite... What is the piece used for the shield (great use btw)? Quote
Maxim I Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 An epic battle!!!! Some really nice shots of this scene! About the light: I don't really mind as the light in the Rakath Mountains is never as clear as in the desert for example Quote
Nightstalker Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Great action scene. The second shot is definitely my favorite... What is the piece used for the shield (great use btw)? That is from the old Doctor Frankenstein's castle (I think it works well as a magic barrier). Quote
-obelix- Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 That is from the old Doctor Frankenstein's castle (I think it works well as a magic barrier). Thanks, I'll have to see about finding that piece. And you are right, it does look great as a magical barrier. Quote
Yooha Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 That is .. from the old Doctor Frankenstein's castle (I think it works well as a magic barrier). I thought this is a shield similar to the gungan one, with a permanent frame and a force-field in it. But a shield IS a barrier after all, so maybe I wasn't wrong that much. Quote
