Capn Kirk 911 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Isn't there a topic onb this already in the culture and multimedia folder? anyway I like the song Iamgine by John Lennon Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one and there's the lyrics Quote

As for my favourite song, it'd probably have to be 'I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues,' Elton John. I have a few other 'favourites' as well. Some I don't know the titles of ( :-| ), but the ones I do are: 'Piano Man' Billy Joel 'Daniel' Elton John 'Your Song' Elton John (yes I like Elton John) More to come later. Quote

Optimax X Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 Despite it's awkward lyrics and silly tune, i like the A1GP theme- around the world. Another song i like is crocodile rock. Quote
lone_buffalo Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John When are you gonna come down When are you going to land I should have stayed on the farm I should have listened to my old man You know you can't hold me forever I didn't sign up with you I'm not a present for your friends to open This boy's too young to be singing the blues So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough Back to the howling old owl in the woods Hunting the horny back toad Oh I've finally decided my future lies Beyond the yellow brick road What do you think you'll do then I bet that'll shoot down your plane It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics To set you on your feet again Maybe you'll get a replacement There's plenty like me to be found Mongrels who ain't got a penny Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground Quote

Top 20, eh? :-P My favorite artist is Billy Joel. A little over a year ago I was fortunate enough to be able to go to his concert in Madison Square Garden X-D Absolutely love "For the Longest Time", but the whole concert I'll never forget :'-) The entire sold-out Madison Square Garden standing and singing in unison "Piano Man" while he stopped playing for a second, sat back, and looked around with a tear in his eye...most memorable moment of my life thus far Quote
Optimax X Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 Oh- and can't forget the legend that is queen! I love it, great songs, much, much better than any of this modern....ahem... you get the picture. But seriously, if you have never heard a queen song, you have had a very sheltered life! My favorites are another one bites the dust, fat bottomed girls, bicycle race, don't stop me now, flash, we are the champions and we will rock you. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Blue Suede Shoes is from Elvis, if I'm not mistaken. It was actually done first by Carl Perkins, but Elvis did a cover of it. Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Bohemian Rhapsody isn't Queen's best in my opinion either. I like The show must go on a lot better. Quote

5150 Lego Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I like all different types of music. Anywhere from rock, to techno/electronic. My favorites are (in no paticular order...) Metalica, Korn, Kid Rock, DJ Teisto, DJ Paul Oakenfold, DJ Rap, Prodigy, Crystal Methoed, Fergie, Bill Idol But my favorite band at the moment are the Gorillaz. Favorite songs are "Kids with Guns", and "Dirty Harry", but all thier songs are good. :-) Quote
ghoulrealm Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 My favorite music is pretty much anything without lyrics (instrumental and mostly orchestral) I like some popular music but I usually find the midi files so I don't have to hear the vocals. The midi is also a good way learn to play the songs on synth\keyboard. Some of them are really decent quality with a good sound card. Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Muse are perhaps my favourite band of last couple of years. The Pixies are my fav band which never made it very mainstream. ABBA are a great band too :-) Quote
Optimax X Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Of course i do like the f1 theme tune, lift me up by moby, and a song i'm listening to at the moment called mason exceeder is quite good as well, catchy tune. Quote
Brainbox Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I spent a whole day yesterday singing 'Daniel.' Quietly of course. Much to the amusement of some no doubt. I then spent today singing 'Here comes the sun.' I'm kind of the odd one out with music. Most of my friends like all this hardcore rock stuff, from band I've never heard of. Whereas I tend to like older music. Modern Classics, that sort of thing. I get a bit of ribbing about it sometimes, but so what. Quote
