Nyx politely nods back at Chauncey. Her eyes scan the room, once more watching the interactions between the guests. She begins to walk around the room, nodding and smiling, before casually approaching Samuel Shawe. She waits for a polite time to introduce herself, and positioning herself so she can see the door to the kitchen and anyone approaching it.

"Hello, I am Nyx, isn't this a lovely party? Are you a good friend of Master Guffington's?"

He doesn't believe in arming the populace, but I personally think that someone is going to do it one way or another, so I may as well make some gold off of it. I know for a fact that he has spoken to Madame Ladybug about his concerns. I'm trying to get the Guild to supply the Shadeuax with a new more powerful bomb to sell. This military grade stuff is being sold to the Bonapartes, but apparently the Guild doesn't want them to get into the hands of private armies. It's ridiculous. The armies will be getting them anyway sooner or later, that's the way of the world. Why not allow themselves and us make a little gold off of it? Tell you what, do you have standing with the Guild? Perhaps you can convince her - I hear she's indebted to the Heroes of Heroica now anyway. I'd be willing to throw a little bit of gold your way for the favor, say 150 gold and an increased reputation with the family I serve?"

Nyx stares at Shawe before catching herself and forcing a smile.

"I shall see what I can do, of course, excuse me." she smiles more as she bows her head and turns away.

"Well, he plans to work with Guffy in the future, so he's probably not trying to kill him. Strangely direct chap, but at least he got to the point." she thinks to herself and eyes the room once more. "Yet more talking, can't I just hit someone until they tell me what I want to know?" her internal monologue continues, clearly tapping into her Barbaric side. She finishes both of the drinks she's holding, disposes of the glasses and grabs herself another one before approaching Lord Marsh.

"Lord Marsh!" the beaming smile is back as her Mage side takes more control "How wonderful to meet you! I've heard so much about you, you've come from Gull, correct? So far away! It must have taken you extra special effort to be here for this party, so what was it that tempted you here?" the smile continues, but Nyx watches Marsh's reaction closely.

Hybros uses a Health Core before trying to use his Certificate for a Cloak of the Red Assassin on Avery from the Back Row.

OoC: I have no idea how the Certificate is supposed to work, but I assume that you'll make us try it to find out.

I use a Grand Potion and then attack Clippard from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow.

"My business is a little less flashy, I'm afraid. I'm a deal broker, mostly. The more people I know, the better I can do in business."

"Lady Marsh? Well now that's curious...." Nyx adopts an innocently thoughtful expression "Are you sure she wanted to come? I must be confused, because I'm sure I heard her say to someone earlier that she only came because you wanted her to? Does Lady Marsh have any business dealings herself? Here in Eubric perhaps? Or connections here at all?" Nyx smiles sweetly and innocently, as if just curious and making conversation, all the while wondering what the hell had happened to the others to leave her alone talking to all the guests.

Lord Marsh looks around confusedly, but cannot find his wife.

"When did she tell you that? She doesn't appear to be in the room... where did she get off to? Got to keep a good eye on her, that one. Always getting into mischief. But, no, indeed she did want to come. I believe she was feeling coped up on Gull, and I can understand why. It has been a while since I've taken her on a trip. As for any business dealings... well, I won't deny a woman her secrets," Lord Marsh smiles coyly, "but if she does have any dealings, she hasn't told me. Here, have my card." Lord Marsh hands Nyx a card. "Now, I believe I will go look for my wife. If you'll excuse me." Lord Marsh walks off into the crowd and towards the exit of the Dining Hall. Nyx glances down at the card, and when she glances back up Everstien stands in front of her.

"It appears your friends are causing a little bit of trouble," he says in his wheezy voice, pointing to the kitchen door. Thomas and the blue waiter stand next to it. Thomas is pulling on it, but clearly it is locked from the inside. "Remember, we must ensure that the secondary plan goes through if we have any hope of actually preventing it next time."

"I didn't actually say she told me, silly." Nyx mutters at Marsh's retreating back. She fixes Everstien with a hard look as he speaks to her.

"'we must ensure that the secondary plan goes through'?? That's all you have to say? It sounds like all hell is breaking loose in the kitchen, and it took Baldy no time at all to finish off the chef last time, but Docken and Hybros are both in there and neither one has come out yet, and the servers are out here, well, all but one, so what the hell is going on in there and what's taking them so damn long???"

Nyx sighs, clearly frustrated. "I have no idea where this 'secondary plan' will come from as nobody here is giving any sign of wanting Guffy particularly dead, in fact they all seem like they'd be a whole lot happier if he were left alive, quite frankly."

Nyx looks at Everstien, not really expecting a response, and sighs once more before going off to find Guffington to talk to.

Hybros attacks Clippard from the Back Row with his Sword of Ancestral Hatred twice.

I attack Avery from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. Then if my HP is above 25, I use a Grand Potion. If I have rolled Aura or if my HP drops below 25, I use a Health Core.

Everstien smiles and then coughs before responding.

"Come now, Lady Nyx. I thought you were less of a meat head than your bald acquaintance. Where is your spirit of adventure, your spirit of inquire. You don't know where this secondary plan can come from?" Everstien grips Nyx's arm as she turns to go find Guffington. "Let us put our two heads together, girl. The fates of Hybros and Docken don't matter, they'll be alive when they need to be either way. So let's talk. The second attack is not chef, because he's the first. Likewise, you killed the faun server with relative ease, so the chances of him being a second assassin should the first fail is unlikely. Besides that, he delivered the poison. It seems unlikely whoever the contractor is would put all their eggs in one basket. It is not one of you, it is not myself, it is not Doctor Daneeka, it is not Guffington. When left to their own devices, when all Hel broke loose, Elba and U'Or did not engage in combat, so it seems unlikely they are here to murder their employer." The wereraven pauses and coughs violently for a short time. Nyx can feel his talon (still gripping her arm) shudder slightly. His eyes, when returning to contact with her's, seem milky and bloodshot. "Excuse me. Lord Chauncey attacked everyone but Lord Guffington. Besides, he wasn't particularly subtle with his attack, and it came before the first attempt. That takes him off the table as far as our considerations go. That leaves us with... what, six suspects? Madame Ladybug, Samuel Shawe, Lord Henry Hinckwell, Lord Marsh, Lady Marsh, and the Server Watters. Which of those seems capable of being a secondary attack on Guffington?" Everstien releases Lady Nyx's arm. "And how can we ensure that we catch them in the act this time around?"

OoC: Avery's third special has been edited for obvious reasons. It was always the intended effect (and has no effect on previous rounds, this round, or even the most immediate next round) but I thought I should clarify.

OoC: I'm not sure if you want to change Avery's Special or not, because anyone Immune to Instant KO is also Immune to Doomed. In the Fields, there was the enemy that Instantly KO'd after 3 Rounds, before Doomed was created, and Sandy said that I was immune to that, because Instant KO includes anything that would reduce a hero's HP to 0 ignoring all other factors, no matter how many Rounds it takes before it takes effect.

Feeling the fine material it was made of, he hung it on his shoulders and instantly felt the ancestral power of centuries of activity from the secret organization. He acknowledges Lady Marsh's presence, then responds to Avery. "It is a shame that I must kill you; perhaps I could have learned a thing or two from your organization, eheh."

He winces as poison courses through his veins, then turns to Docken who appears to be suffering from the same effects. "I have a few Elixers if needed, Docken, but I believe we should continue our attack."

Hybros repeats his actions, unless Docken would say otherwise, in which case he would defer to the toughened Warden's judgement.
