Legogal Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Did a build for Chinese New Year's Year of Horse. Happy Chinese New Year by dr_spock_888, on Flickr I love your Year of the Horse build! What a great way to start the Chinese New Year! Hope they bring out the Horse set in the US also so we get a chance to get it! Quote
dr_spock Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Thanks Legogal. Today I washed some second hand LEGO. It's interesting to feel the plastic difference between current LEGO and pieces from 25 years. Quote
Andy D Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Not just today, but for the last three days... Just sitting at my workstation sorting, sorting and then sorting some more! Maybe in a week or so I will ave a better handle on what I have so I can avoid some trips to bricklink for parts. While sorting I noticed that LEGO has just about every kind of weapon imaginable from canons to bazookas and flick-fire missles, from bow and arrow to blasters, every kind of knife, sword and spear I have seen or can even imagine, but... Not one church. I am not trying to start something here... please just don't. This was just an observation, not a social commentary. Andy D Edited February 16, 2014 by Andy D Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Planning to re arrange the dinning room Lego Room. A 5 ft long city, Avengers base, 6 Castles, 4 Space Ships, couple of thousand mini figs, a Space bar, 4 sailing ships, Dr Doom's lair and my classic Space station "Moon Base Alpha" to move, plus 50,000 pieces, a couple of chairs, a big piece of plywood and a Video collection in the way. Tomorrow's going to be a long day... Quote
Tromboon Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Got 70803 (Cloud Cuckoo palace) as birthday present, bought 70809 (Lord Business' Lair) got one minifig bag and bought two more! (Pants-guy, Hard-hat Emmet and robot with beard) Quote
Leo604 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Went and watched The Lego Movie yesterday; been really busy with school to catch up with Lego but this week I'll see if there are still Mirkwood Elf Army sets at Walmart and grab one for myself. Quote
Andy D Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 More sorting! The more I sort and try to get organized the more ovewhelmed I feel. 13 hours sorting in the lat 4 days. Andy D Quote
Legogal Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Yup, the sorting kills me, too! Keeps me out of my LEGO room for days at a time. I will pull one set out and play with it at the kitchen table instead of organizing and sorting everything so I can work on the table in there. Why is it so hard to sort LEGO? Most of my parts are in large bins sorted by color and only about 10 percent are lying loose in builds in various stages of completion and driving me nuts. The more I try to put them away, the more they spread. I try to make a little progress every week by sorting for an hour or two. Or putting one more modular on the shelf, etc. Am finding all kinds of parts I did not know were in my collection. And it would be terrible to order what is already here. One big lesson, when storing a build, do not take it apart for any reason. You will probably never get it back together is my experience with the modulars and other large buildings. The parts tend to disappear, and it is torture to reverse build the top floor. Don't ask why, okay! Quote

I currently have much of my unsorted collection in my build space, that is my incintive to get them sorted, then I will allow myself to build something as a reward. Week before last I built 2 of my Architecture pieces. Sorting is one thing... Getting organized is quite another. Talking about dissappearing parts, kind of reminds me of the sock that dissappears in the clothes dryer, you put 2 in and only one comes out. My hope is that by sorting and organizing I can avoid buying pieces I already have and instead concentrate on parts I need for a build. Andy D Quote
LAKAbricks Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I am having plenty of time these days as I'm sick. As the updates in the fora I normally visit here on EB don't come often enough, I have visited other fora I normally don't visit. That is for example the reason I write in this thread Quote
eurotrash Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I decided that I couldn't wait for a BL order of gears to step down/up the Portal Axles so I just wrangled an XL motor into the Unimog. That took a lot longer than it should have because I was without the Youtube instructions (I have satellite internet and the account had throttled back for excessive usage - it happens to me every month, so I should be used to it by now). So with a series of Text messages to a friend in Louisiana and screenshots texted back to me I was able to figure it out. That first moment when I attached the battery, turned it on and the damn thing leapt forward was magical. Brilliant set and so much fun. Quote
dr_spock Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Built my 2013 Christmas present from my daughter. It's the Creator Mech. Really liking the lime green. I think it needs a big gun. Quote
AmperZand Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 After years of wanting to do this, I finally made a Drizzt minifig. He looks very cool if I do say so myself. Quote
ficbot Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 We tore down the house on our baseplate and started a park. There were too many minifigs to fit in the house and I figured if I built a park,I could have an amphitheatre to corral them all. Have not figured out how to do pictures yet but I will post when it's done. So far be have the stage area, bathrooms, a few attractions (parrot cage from Friends mini bag, and a doghouse I made myself) and a tree. I want to make a snack bar and picnic area, and maybe a ranger's house too. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Got my Lego Atlantis Barracuda Warrior and Vampire Bat and they are so awesome! Quote
eurotrash Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I've had a bit of a dim Age (not as bad as a Dark Age) for the last month or two and it was lovely to get back to bricking something - so I started on a railway depot. Now it's time to build the interior and grunge it up a bit. I'm glad to be back. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Started rebuilding my haunted house, that set doesn't deserve to be broken up. Its just to awseome... Edited March 30, 2014 by TheLazyChicken Quote
