Garmadon Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Ok, I've finally finished what is probably my first totally unprovoked freebuild for GoH: An ancient viking game, Hnefatal (pronounced Nefatal), or King's Table has been played in Mitgardia for centuries. On his visit, Lord DaMaximus played Uridius Dratiphe a few times in the guild room (The other two walls of the room have the other Guild flags, or at least they would if they existed ). The game is similar to chess, the Red wins if it surrounds the king (the bigger piece) on all four sides (you can not move diagonally), and the Black wins if the King can get to one of the white squares on the corners of the board. The Game set-up. Playing around ! C&C are welcome! Quote
Wedge09 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Really nice scene , the last photo is very funny Quote
Captain Nemo Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Hahaha! "First totally unprovoked freebuild for GoH" Do you have to be provoked to build? Anyways, it looks great! I love the use of the period time game, and the room itself looks perfect! Quote
kabel Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 great; I love it, so how's DM taking it to lose? (of course Mitgardians can't lose this game, it's a proven fact! ) Quote
Kai NRG Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Great build! In particular the Kaliphlin shield area looks great, and the idea of a board game is excellent *cough, cough*. I also love that chair design. I hope you don't mind if I steal borrow? great; I love it, so how's DM taking it to lose? (of course Mitgardians can't lose this game, it's a proven fact! ) Actually, it's just because of the game mechanics, which make it absolutely (and I'm not exaggerating) impossible for the red to win if black has the smallest idea of what they're doing, at least in the smaller version! So of course DM got stuck with the totally impossible red side... Quote

No, but there has always been a contest or something to build for when I had time, so this would be unprovoked in that sense. great; I love it, so how's DM taking it to lose? So of course DM got stuck with the totally impossible red side... Hey, in the real game the teams are red, 24 warriors, black, 12, plus the king. So this game should theoretically be easier for the red to win. Anyways, Uridius is obviously used to the game, so his has a good idea of what he is doing... PS. The last pic was Kai NRG's idea . Legonardo Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 nice one! love the last pic, they throwing the peices art eachother? kaliphlinians.... (of course Mitgardians can't lose this game, it's a proven fact! ) because mitgardians rig their games? keep it up! Quote
Maxim I Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Hahahaha, I love this MOC!!! Seriously!! So many wonderfull details! Lord Damaximus will be visiting Mitgardia a lot more if they host them everytimes as good as this time! He had really a good time (even he still is convinced that you should be able to bribe the opponent their pieces to fight for you) Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Excellent vignette, the game looks great Nice wall detailing, I like how you show the colors/gem of each guild (or at least the two visible) Quote

Mike S Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Really nice build from you! Reminds me very much of a historic version of a modern day game pool table room... Quote
