phoinix Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 so it seems that its that time of the year once again!! The eurovision song contest!! (im a great fan) This year its going to be held in Helsinki Finland since "lordi" won last years competition with their "hard rock"!! so let us know what song is your country sending to the contest and comment on the other songs!! Cyprus is sending a great song (in my opinion) called "Comme ci Comme Ca" The whole song is in French and its kind of an electro-disco-pop song! you can read more about it and listen to the song here http://esctoday.com/news/read/7770 or here http://youtube.com/watch?v=BQNC18aJhYk (tell me what you think yoda! as well as what the song says as i dont know french all that well) On Wednesday the 28th Greece will choose the song for this year and i will be posting info for that as well.. alex54 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 What a great song :-) *sweet* :'-) :-D :-P The "story": the woman said that the all-days-life has killed her love with her boyfriend, who didn't do any efforts to give her a palpitating life. But I don't see why the title is Comme ci, comme Quote
snefroe Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Belgium, actually the french speaking community of Belgium, will be sending the "Crazy Mess Groovers" and a song called "Love power". It's your typical mixture of Wham! in its early days (this guy's voice really sounds like that of a young G. Michael) and some classisco like Earth Wind & Fire. It's not a bad song at all, but not really outstanding either... Quote
phoinix Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 Greece just decided to send this song to the eurovision song contest http://youtube.com/watch?v=yTi-g8UlSoc (will have a better video by tommorow) i dont really like it its very...Ricky-boring-Martin and pointless info about the singer and the song http://esctoday.com/news/read/7837 Bulgaria is very nice for this year (imo) A lot better than Greece i think (but Cyprus is still my fav) http://youtube.com/watch?v=oHiDN6ZP8oY great ethnic song! Optimax X Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Well obiously briatin won't win, espacially with the "what-the-heck" song that was played last year- i'm right in saying that alot of people in britain would have been scratching there heads wondering what that terrible shambles was that some idiot just embarased the whole country with. Jipay Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 One year already... ouch that hurts ! I think the french will go for a pop rock song, but I didn't have the opportunity to listen to it yet. And it's funny to see a foreign sing in french ! Especially with the lyrics :-D Quote

Jipay Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Les fatals picards : the french entry : http://www.france3.fr/eurovision/home.php Quote
phoinix Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 funny guys! and the French singing with english words! thats a first for the contest i think! the bold guy reminds me of last years Lithuanian singer.. Quote
Jipay Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Yeah it's a funny entry, they are taking a funny english accent to sing the french words. The song is about an english guy living a french romance X-D Quote
Dfenz Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Here is the Irish entry. Sounds a bit stereotypical to me. I don't think it has a chance unless they do some radical editing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TlGREikBRA David Quote
Jipay Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I have to agree... It lacks something original. How many days to go before the contets begins ? Quote
phoinix Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 the semi-final is on the 10th of May and the final on the 12th :-) 10 songs out of the 28 of the semi will pass to the final there they will meet with 14 more countries for the final 10 of them are the top 10 of the last years contest the other 4 are the so called "big 4" U.K France Spain and Germany(i think) are always in the final every year because they give money for this contest to take place... thats a bit unfair for the other countries in my opinion...but thats how things are.. :-/ Quote

phoinix Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 thanx jipay! ;-) and lets hope more people can post info about their country's song! more trivia on this years ESC can be found here http://esctoday.com/annual/esc/2007/home.p...ection=thisyear Quote
RocketMan Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Germany will be represented by Roger Cicero, and his song is "Frauen regier'n die Welt" ("Women Rule the World"). It's German-languaged swing, very smooth and perfectly arranged. I've absolutely adored Roger's music for quite a while now and even been to a concert - that was before I knew he entered the contest. Though I'm not sure if it'll have great success in Helsinki - swing is not to everybody's taste. Anyhow, here's the song: Quote
gylman Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 LMAO! I just had a listen to a few of the clips. Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid. Good luck to everyone's favourite... Quote
Jipay Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I think you have to be european to understand the concept :-D Quote
Hobbes Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I think you have to be european to understand the concept :-D Hmm... what does that make me then cos I'm with gylman on this 8-| Quote
Brainbox Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Well, the UK will be represented by 'Scooch' with their trolley-dolly type song, 'Flying the Flag (For You).' I've not heard it in full, but what I have heard sounds a bit rubbish to me (but then what do you expect from the UK? ;-) ). Although someone on Radio 5 this morning (I think) said that she was still singing the tune. There was a bit of confusion at the end, as Ferne Cotton and Terry Wogan both announced different winners. *wacko* Quote
phoinix Posted March 18, 2007 Author Posted March 18, 2007 here is a link to listen to the whole UK song http://esctoday.com/news/read/7997 kind of a funny performance..but a bit hmmm....redicilus as well anyway since people these days vote for countries that they want be in the top 10 so that next year the country will not have to go to the semi-final Uk being one of the "big 4" meaning that it is always going to be in the final people dont bother to vote ( im i being clear?)
