With instructions, no boxes.

The parts are in good condition, so I will go for it. I checked bricklink already indeed ^^ I really love to use the troll torso's with other arms, and some sand green arms are always nice too. And the dwarven mine has been on my wanted list for quite a while :P so, expect some castle builds from me next month.

Definitely sounds like you got a good deal to me. I look forward to your builds!

I, for one, am quite jealous. Know of anyone else with deals like that?

im hunting down our 'national e-bay', and whenever someone sells his lego without knowing its worth, im there. That's where I snatched up most of my falcon/wolfpack collection for sometimes less than 1€ per fig

Thats exactly what I do, though there isn't as much around on the Australian Ebay.

Great deal, congratulations!

I try to do the same, but my e-bay seems to think I live in the USA... How can I change that?

Hello everyone!

Needless to say, I'm new here ^^ but hey, nice to see some known faces - even nicer to see many new ones!

So, for a little intro.. well I'm being lazy so you can find it here: :p http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=137673

Let me get to the point: I'm interested in joining you guys, in particular through the University of Petraea's project. I'm working on my character, thinking about the guild choice and already have many questions [hope you guys don't mind], but first things first:

1 - where do I ask questions? [they'll be many, I promise] Is this thread fine or?

2 - after reading this WHOLE thread, I'm now going through the history and challenges, but it seems to stop at Book II, challenge 1 (Battle for Nocturnus) - where can I find the rest?

Oh and if anyone has got an idea of some specific thread I should read, feel free to suggest (haven't touched the 4 Guilds' threads, nor the Tavern yet as would like to grasp the big picture first).

Again, nice to meet u all (/see you here as well) :)

P.S.

my e-bay seems to think I live in the USA... How can I change that?

I had the same problem but can't remember how I solved it :p maybe just change .com to something European? [you're from Belgium, right?]

Welcome! Always nice to see new members here. You're certainly welcome to ask questions here, and as many as you like. Once you pick a guild, you can also ask questions in your guild thread, which is also a very common for questions. There is a topic (I believe it is the bottommost stickied thread, titled something along the lines of Story and history, start here! This covers most of the story from book one. The next place to start is the first post of each guild intro thread. We obviously don't expect you to read 100s of pages of posts, but reading the first posts in each should give you the most important information for each. Otherwise, keep asking questions!

hey guys, thanks for the quick reply, you both.

and well, yes, that's the thread I meant - it stops at the first challenge of Book II (battle for Nocturnus), but I read somewhere that there has been a civil war in Kaliphin afterwards, so I assume that thread doesn't cover the whole story (yet)?

Posted

awesome - thanks!

.. where did you find them, by the way? I can't find them in any way in the whole Forums section..

finally, have you also got a link to the ending part of the Battle for Nocturnus?

[yes, I need 10 posts to get a decent profile.. ]

I used the forum search function at the top of main page. I knew enough of the titles to narrow the search, though. Challenge II was hardest, because I couldn't remember enough of the title. I ended up using the creation date of a prelude build to search the Avalonia thread for the correct link. All of the Book II challenge links have been posted in the guild discussion threads, but to find them fast you have to know the approximate date the links were posted.

One way is too have a look at MOCs posted for that challenge, as it will give you a rough date to look for. For example, the GoH Flickr group is easier to search through than the entire GoH sub forum!

all right guys, thanks ^^

I think there are a couple of bits missing, but I'm going through Kaliphin's civil war now so I'll confirm later.

wow guys, it was an EPIC reading yesterday (till late night) with the Kali civil war! <3

so, what I'm missing about the Story is what happened in both Mitgardia and Nocturnus after the fights (though I can gather that Nocty is currently split into two?).

so yes, if anyone could please point me in the right direction, it'd be great ^

Firstly, welcome to Eurobricks and the Guilds! (I haven't been able to post in GoH for two weeks, hence the late welcome)

You have already read a HUGE amount of lore, which is great, but it's even better that you enjoyed it so much! :classic::thumbup:

After the Kali civil war, Mitguardia - and thereafter all of Historica, to a slightly lesser extent - was fighting the Algus. This whole event started with The Algus Saga, many members have contributed to it, but there is no continuing line of links between chapters, unfortunately. I believe this is where it all started, so that's something I guess. It was followed by the Frozen Beyond Contest, you'll find all entries here.

Concerning Nocturnus, the resistance against the Black Spire is growing stronger under the surface. There was also the Desert King Nocturnus Crusade, but I never absorbed the matter thoroughly. Maybe this is a helpful point?

If it's no time for challenges or contests, there are still plenty of personal stories to read. Most of them list the links to all previous chapters in the latest one, but some have a continuing chapter-to-chapter link system, which is nice for new readers. A few personal stories:

Osric Farwind by MiloNelsiano

Adira Magdeburg by Adair (not sure what part is exactly the saga and what isn't, but [searchInKey]=&search_app_filters[forums][sortKey]=date&search_app_filters[forums][sortDir]=1"]this is the place to find it)

The Aestwäld Saga by TitusV

The Onicius Prologue, The Exetrius Saga by myself (sorry for self-advertisement!)

Man, I've been spending hours on this post digging up old thread... but I hope it's helpful for you and maybe others, too.

Hello Exetrius, thanks for the welcome, for the update and for spending your time to put the links together! It'll be most helpful. :sweet:

As for the personal stories, I'm sure that's gonna be the icing on the cake. [A lot of icing!]

and hehe, you did well to advertise - will be checking that out too

Welcome! always nice to see more and more people joining :D

I've a question. I just bought some LOTR sets (goblin king battle, lonely mountain and dol guldur ambush). These sets are awesome and I want to open them, but they are also new in box so they are worth much more than I bought them for. What should I do? :D

If your very desperate for the bricks/figs they contain, just open them. If not, I think you could make some profit by selling them, and of course using the money to buy more lego  but I'm no expert on this terrain...

Great to hear that, have fun! :classic:

@Exetrius: great post, but a little remark: the Aestwäld Saga is as much Bregie's as mine, and even a bit LV's

Oops, my bad!

If you don't really need the figs, you could sell them separately and keep the bricks. I think you could bricklink the bulk of the bricks in these sets cheap (in bulk), for the money you earn by selling the sets (once again, if you don't really care about the figs). Personally, I would keep Smaug, for both value and collection purposes. It's up to you!

already read all of your saga actually :sweet: haven't commented there because I didn't wanna dig up old stuff, so good that you've given me the chance to do so here - I loved it, honestly. can't wait to read (and look at) the rest. I was particularly impressed by the fact that you manage to keep every episode complete yet pretty short: that's gonna be a problem for me  . in the same way, I've appreciated the small builds. Loved the scene with the half-sabre-tooth tigers and Deliora.. purrrr lol

oh and thanks everyone for the welcome ^^

Keep them and open them, obviously, and count yourself lucky to have found them for cheap. At least that is what I would do, since I have never had the self-control to sit with an unopened Lego box for more than a few hours...

Great to see you here En-zoo ! And, again, welcome !

Concerning your question Dathil, I would follow Henjin.

I could not resist the pulse to open the boxes... I'd open the boxes and considered me lucky to have bought them when they were at a low price.
