I'm wondering why everyone is clamoring for the BTTF set when it would obviously be a MUCH better tie-in if they waited until 2015. Seriously, didn't anyone watch the second movie?

I like this set. Not as much as I like Portal, but this is definitely a pretty cool one. I think it also demonstrates a lot better than Minecraft and BTTF what TLG what looking for from CUUSOO--it seems that they're not looking for big blockbusters, they're looking for smaller niche sets that they might not otherwise be able to justify. This is the general type of project we should expect out of CUUSOO, so hopefully the ideas submitted will be closer to TLG's ideal now, rather than all the big spectacular masterpieces that get all our hopes up only to be mercilessly crushed.

I think they would rather have a big blockbuster than a small seller. The small niche is what their original expectations were rather than what their wants were. Everything comes down to money eventually.:tongue:

You guys want to see a future like Star Wars or Star Trek, where we zip around at FTL speeds and hobnob with alien species in a universe of infinite possibilities? Well, if there's any chance the dreams of science fiction will become reality, this is how we make it happen. Curiosity - it's what moves us forward.

I want to see a future where cancer is cured as well, but that doesn't mean it would be exciting as a LEGO set.

I am just wondering if the Portal set that they hinted at may be on the cards for the next release. Looking at the two sets that are up for review next time, either some school mascot set, which whilst it will be good for the school probably will not have many takers outside that and the Space Troopers which (Whilst this would be fantastic and I would buy in an instance!) they are probably going to say is too much like Galaxy Squad/Alien Conquest/etc to make it through.

That would mean either no sets released next time or they leave the room open for the Portal set that people want and they appear to have not given up on?

You'll change your mind when you see the excusive minifigs included in the set. Genius Pathogist is wicked cool with detailed arm printing, and Cute Phlebotomist has a brand new hairpiece that will be extremely useful for One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest MOCs. Can you feel the excitement NOW?!?

...

Personally, I think Curiosity looks really cool.
