June 21, 201311 yr Oh TigerWolfe, I was able to make a mirrored B-Wing with just swapping slopes from the cockpit arm, and the main cannon, and a couple of wedges arround. I did need one extra wedge opposite of the one the normally goes on the cockpit arm. I'm sure ya figured that too, but posting this just in case.

Yeah the swap was really easy, I was worried I'd need a few extra pieces, but it was literally just a matter of building a few pieces opposite of how they were in the book. The only thing I needed extra pieces for was the extra long bridge between the Blades that the cockpit attaches to.
June 23, 201311 yr Author Got the Millenium Falcon cockpit in today, it's fine size wise... but I'm flummoxed with regards to an attachment method.
June 23, 201311 yr I would just go with something not too complicated: headlight bricks attached by their tops to the edges of the semicircle. (Headlight bricks aligned that way instead of regular bricks with studs on their sides because you don't end up with the half-plate gap between the edge of the cone and the bottom of the brick.)
June 23, 201311 yr Author So I cannibalized a Space Police ship for the purposes of mocking this up, thoughts and ideas would be appreciated, as well as friendly pointers. With the Millenium Falcon cockpit, size comparison. Of note, this smaller "blade"-less version is really fun to play with. The Falcon cockpit is good to go size wise but connecting it, was not something I could do with available parts. This is the cockpit I went with, as I had one on hand to test it out. Obviously the colors are wrong, what're thoughts on the shape though? Here's a view of the underside, I feel like there are wider bottom pieces that'll match the cockpit better, but I'm not certain on that. That nose piece is a bit too narrow, any pointers towards a wider piece would be appreciated. The reason I need a wider piece. Note the gap. So this is the progress I've made on expanding the cockpit, lemme know any thoughts or input. Thanks for looking :D Edited June 23, 201311 yr by TigerWolfe
June 23, 201311 yr That canopy is... 10x6, with each wedge on the front being 3x4; I'm quite certain that there isn't a brick or plate like that, other than the inverted version of the canopy. In the only suitable color, Dark Bley, that piece came in a couple Exo Force sets, a City set, and a KK2 set, from '03-'07. But if you're going to end up BLing more parts, and if the Falcon canopy is perfect in size, why wouldn't you BL headlight bricks instead? (Or you could us 1x1s with Stud on Side instead, but the transition won't be as clean.)

(Or you could us 1x1s with Stud on Side instead, but the transition won't be as clean.) I wasn't as big of a fan of how the MF canopy looked, and maybe I'm just too inexperienced, but even with the headlight bricks I'm not sure how to set it up so the canopy connection is smooth. This is definitely not the final version though so I'm willing to keep fussing around with it til I get it right.
June 23, 201311 yr Some really quick and really rough examples: You can do something simpler like this: Or the more elaborate, more SNOT-based, better-looking solution: (And in this case you could just use the 4x4 curved quarter-circle pieces instead of the SNOTed curved slopes. I just like the look of SNOTed slopes better.)
June 29, 201311 yr The simple solution if you like the Falcon Canopy is to canibalize not just the canopy but the entire cockpit assembly back to the rear wall. It's a removable module that attaches via 2 1x2 bricks with technic holes. Those could easily be swapped for 1x2's with axel holes and it would just pop right on. PS if you want a massive project, I just realized that you could easily convert 2 of the UCS B Wings into this with virtually no effort or reworking. The needed connection points already exist symmetrically on both sides of the cockpit. Just plug the second body into the other side and you have your Deathraven. (no place big enough to park it mind you...)

(no place big enough to park it mind you...) Very nice Moc, seems to be the fusion of two b-wings! The UCS one is too rich for my blood, and if I had that money, I'd just go with the MOC one that was posted by krispy as I think his looks better. LEGO train, it is a fusion of two B-wings, it's a one off ship that's only mentioned in the canon once. Just got home from spending some time with the family so I'll be eyeballing making the cockpit look more correct once again. Knightsword, you said you were gonna do the same build, how's yours coming along?
July 1, 201311 yr I really like what you build, and as others commented, I think the cockpit could go a little bigger. But I also think you should try to enhance the areas between the cockpit and the engines section.
