Nightstalker Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) I while back I promised that something big was coming in 1.5 weeks and here it is... This is the Black Lance Guildhouse, and it is not even finished yet! This building has taken a total of 4 years in development, and it has been stalled primarily due to a lack of money (I'll admit my family has been a huge support in making this). If you haven't seen the floors I'll go hunt down the link to them, but I'll just lay them out for you real quickly. Basement: Armory 1st Floor: Main Hall 2nd Floor: Guild Quest Rooms and Guildmaster's Office 3rd Floor: Dining Hall 4th Floor: Library and Arcaneum 5th Floor: Guildmaster's Bedroom and Servant's Quarters http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=90506 7th Floor: Guild Lounge and Guild Vault: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85756 8th Floor: Guild Training Room: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=84322 These 8 floors are finished 100% (minus the books needed in the library and gold for the vault room ) 6th Floor: Guild Barracks That 1 floor is still unfinished. As for this... By the end of this week (if they get finished in time), these banners will have the guild emblem on them along with a black border. It should look pretty darn awesome! So this is my big reveal. I hope you all enjoyed it and I hope to show you at least one of the uncompleted floors before I return back to college. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Side View Back View I hope you all enjoyed the MOC. As usual C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!! Edited January 7, 2014 by Nightstalker Quote
Watchman Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Wow. Can we see inside please ? Epic scale is awesome, but details are important too (like with people, what's on the inside is more important than the outside, don't judge a book by it's cover, etc) Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 That is big Pictures of the interior would be very welcome Quote
SteampunkDoc Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 While the scale is nice, the repetitive design and lack of any other details leads to a more plain effect. But like the others, I'd love to see some interior shots. I'm sure that will change my impression of the MOC for the better. Quote
dgherko Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Amazing model. I really love that the small gate in front looks like the standard gate set we have got from the lego castle line for years. It gives us a good scale for the effort you have truly put into this model. This is a dark age design with a Roman influence. Having visited some sites in Europe, the Romans built large imposing structures to intimidate the locals, this would have intimidated all with in sight or word of mouth With any luck Lego will see this and begin to give us more interior detail in the castle line models. well done. Wedge09 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Impressive building  There is any interiors? Quote
Nightstalker Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Alright, rather than waiting on my Brickshelf folders to go public again,or putting up the +100 links to really large pictures, I just retook some pictures and I'll throw them all here. Basement: Armory and Forges Tinkerer's Workshop and Fletching Armorsmith (the contraption on the right is a gnomish teleporter, which is the way you get up and down the guildhouse) Weaponsmith Rune Forge on the right and enchanting stones on the right That's the basement floor. Moving along... First Floor: Main Hall The Statues of Melee, Ranged, and Magic The Statues of the Torchbearer, Pathfinder, and Luck Teleporter in use and dormant Moving along... Floor Two: Guild Office and Questboards Guild Office Exploration and Retrieval Questboard Hallway Hunting Questboard Escort Questboard End of Post One... More in the next post Quote
Maxim I Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Woooooow!! This build is stunning!!!! As epic as the Drow cities of Angeli!! Quote
Nightstalker Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 (edited) 3rd Floor: Kitchen and Dining Hall Guild members enjoying a meal Extra pots, pans, and cups Butcher Station Wine/Ale/Mead/etc. Rack Spices and Chopping Board (the water is for washing dishes) Bakery Station The Grill! That's the dining room and kitchen Last finished floor 4th Floor: Library and Arcaneum Still missing those books Headmaster of the Library Guild Member reading a magic scroll View walking into the arcaneum Guild Member creating an inscription Scroll cabinet below the inscription table with enchanting shrine on the right Potion rack with health (red), magic (blue), and antidote (green) Crystal Sculpture, courtesy of the Avarian elfs Storyteller Orb, allows guild members to retell events from the past so many can see them Alchemy station on the left with plant bin; Inscription application on the far right Shroom bin Whew and that's a quick recap of the work that has been established. That's 3 years worth of work, and I still have an unfinished wall to put together, and four more floors that still need interiors. Hope you enjoyed the MOC As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is always welcome and appreciated!!! Edited June 19, 2013 by Nightstalker Quote
kabel Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 nightstalker, this is crazy! How much does the thing weigh? Quote
Nightstalker Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 nightstalker, this is crazy! How much does the thing weigh? Surprisingly, the weight is not too bad, the Guild Office and Questboard floor and the Library and Arcaneum floor are actually the heaviest. The guildhouse is also very stable. Quote
Gideon Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 This is really impressive, the scale of this project really needs some serious dedication! Well done! On another note, I would certainly not mind seeing some of those interior details put to GoH use as well Quote
LegoThomas Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Nice work. I love the interior! Like the Nudelholz. ;-) Quote
LegoDrake Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Wow,that is an amazing MOC! I might have to borrow/steal some of the furniture designs(with credit of coarse). Quote
The Architect Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) Sorry for the bump up but I have to say this is so cool! Ive been working on something like this for a couple of months now, and thought it was nearly finished. I guess ill go and continue and and do a fullscale replanning. Btw, as daximus stated these really are on angelis level! Edit: Misspelt word. Edited January 28, 2014 by The Architect Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Fantastic job on the interior! That should give me some inspirations for my upcoming buildings! Great work! Quote
