For the record, that^ deserves an automatic first place.

Regardless, I actually almost finished Eglor's Bike in action figure scale, but then the file corrupted and I lost everything, so...

yeah, screw that. Maybe I'll toss in a last minute entry, who knows. I'm so done with LDD at this point.

don't know about this raffle, but brickthing said the contests entries vote will begin in friday, so i think the raffle result will show not far from that day.

Dang it, missed the deadline. Anyway, when can we expect results?

Wait, it's still not midnight, the contest is not yet over, right ? Because I still have to show you my fourth entry ; Cragger's Speedor :

Oh, that's sad. :sceptic: Don't you even have any screenshot ?

Is there still time to submit something? Is it midnight anywhere in the world or is it based on NZ time?

If this qualifies, here is my ChiBow, if not, just disregard  (There was going to be a character to go with it, but he's currently only a head and torso)

(And I have to say to CIDDi - that G'Loona is beautiful  - wow!)

Shoot, I meant to bring my Speedorz model to a state of completion and submit it yesterday. Now it looks like I've missed the deadline.

Ah, well, at least I got one measly submission done. So I have a chance, albeit one that is more or less negligible given how many far superior submissions there have been. Good luck to everyone who managed their time better than I did.

EDIT: Actually, the first post is very vague. Does "Midnight of the 17th" mean the start of the day, or the end? If it's the end of the day, then here's my second submission: Constraction-Scale Speedorz.

I think you people who have stuff finished and have missed the deadline should post it anyway, if not here then in its own separate thread, some of these things sound really interesting!

I figure it means as soon as the 17th is over. I'm going to try and maybe submit a Speedorz of my own, since my Eglor's Bike project went completely bust. I wasn't quite done, but almost... ah well, spilled milk and all that.

Edit: Y'know, I'm actually coming up with a cool last-minute entry. It's nowhere near perfect, but I've enjoyed making it regardless. Nothing says productivity like a deadline.

Edit2: Aaaaand here we are, constraction-scale version of Crawley's Claw Ripper:

LXF File. Horribly last minute, but hopefully you guys will take it anyway.

Results!

Massive thanks to everyone who participated in the raffle, and waiting out the delay at the end. The results are finally ready, for your viewing pleasure! There was an impressive range of quality and styles across the 39 different entries, and it was great to see both LDD and physical entries with a considerable amount of time and effort put into them. The months started off with a lot of weapon entries, but they tapered off as the month progressed, and the best entries mostly came through character and vehicle entries. Running through all the entries, I picked out 8 entries in total that I thought deserved extra recognition and points.

Bonus Points

Character:

Infernum, Chi Spider – 3 points

dscn0037.jpg

A clean and stylish build, with an excellent colour scheme that oozes of chi and toxicity.

CM4S, Rhogon the Rhino – 1 point

rhogonhf.jpg

A solid set-like depiction of a Rhino in Chi form, with a fantastic brick-built head.

CIDDi, G’Loona – 5 points

No explanation is really needed here, with the colours, part usage and style all being exquisite. I wouldn't have thought that a Krana, a Kraata and a Dinosaur could make such as expressive face.

Weapon:

Dorek, Raven trap – 1 point

chimaraventrap.jpg

Dorek isn’t too sure how this trap works, but that probably makes it all the more dangerous. It definitely looks like it will hurt anything that comes near it.

Emma, ChiBow – 3 points

9305384069_52aa6c4de6_n.jpg

A very stylish jungle bow, which features a great use of palm tree segments and minifig spears. It’s also a great example of using System pieces to create an action figure accessory that probably wouldn’t look as good using just Bionicle/Hero Factory parts.

Vehicle:

Oky, ZNAP Double-Crosser – 4 points

doublecrosser.jpg

I’m not sure how to classify ZNAP, but Oky puts it to good use with this excellent action figure scale quad-bike. Not only is it made almost completely from ZNAP, but it manages to look good and carry the raven colour scheme.

Bacem, Chi Copterpack – 3 points

copter_2.jpg

Highly inventive and fitting to the crazy animal vehicles of Chima, the Copterpack seems mad enough to work.

Dorek, Crawley’s Claw Crawler – 3 points

daclaw.jpg

Albeit aided by LDD’s unhindered colour selections, this recreation demonstrates that the minifig sets would work excellently as action-figure sets as well. Get on it LEGO!

Congratulations to all seven bonus point recipients. In addition to increase odds at the raffle, you'll also receive a special Chima Action Figure tag! chimaaftag.png

The Prize Winners

With bonus points taken into consideration, the four lucky winners (in order of placing) are as follows:

  1. Takanuinuva
  2. Bacem
  3. CIDDi
  4. CM4S

Congratulations to these four members! Each will win 1 or 2 Chima Action Figure sets, signed by the designers that created them. Please send your full name, mailing address and order of preference for which Chima set to receive to me (Brickthing) so that I can get your prizes sent out to you. Thanks again for LEGO and the Hero Factory Design Team for generously providing these excellent prizes!

Please share any thoughts you have on this contest/raffle format as well, as I’d like to start running more building challenges for the sub-forum in the future, so your feedback will be very useful and appreciated! :sweet:

Ah, natch, a point winner but not a contest winner. Ah well (still holding out on the participation reward!), congrats to all the winners. Some fantastic entries all around (especially that G'Loona).

The raffle style contest was certainly interesting. Personally, I prefer judged competitions over voting, but that's just me. A cool experiment, regardless.

Oh, I was expecting having at least one extra point given for my speedor, but... well, maybe next time. :classic:

Anyways, congratulations to the winners !

Wow, I won something! :cry_happy:

Congrats to everyone else who won, and everyone who tried. There were some really great entries in there!

WooHoo! - a tag - Thanks Brickthing! Oh, and congratulations to the winners as well  . I like the randomness of raffles, you never really know whose going to win - but I also appreciate how you acknowledged some of the more complex/creative builds with bonus points (and a tag) - Fun Stuff!

Aw, too bad I didn't win any prizes despite the extra points, but I'm honored to have received the bonus points and the tag! :classic: You can replace one of my Sci-Fi tags for it.

Congrats to the lucky winners. The Chi is strong in you!

I kinda like this contest/raffle concept. It encourages entrants to make more high-quality MOCs while still giving everyone a fair chance at winning.

According to Si-MOCs (see here), the Hero Factory prizes should be send within the next two weeks. I think the Chima prize will be sent at the same time.
