zero1312 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Before the brain parasites attacked HF Headquarters, single units were sent to lightly occupied outposts in the outer rims of the galaxy for testing. Such an outpost was the private research lab of Dr. Kain, researching the insectiod liveforms on a nearby planet. As the pod approached the lab he scanned it and was amazed about this new liveform. But as soon as he opened the pod the parasite latched onto him and mutated him into a grotesque mix of some sort of scorpion and a man. After the screams of horror from his assistants, only an eerie SKREEEE!! was heard through the now empty corridors of the outpost...... To be continued?? Quote
VBBN Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Getting a Nidhiki vibe from this one, with the design of the four legs(with spikes as feet) and the body with arms as the upper half. I know some people may find it a harsh contrast but I really like the Dark red and Trans-neon Green panels, I've always appreciated that color combo. Quote
bacem Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 liked the half-spider idea! . one question tough, why did he lift one of his legs on the second picture? Quote
Aanchir Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Very nice! There aren't nearly enough quadrupedal Hero Factory models on the interwebz. The color scheme you chose is incredibly exciting. The only part I'm not certain I like is where the torso meets the legs. It feels a bit disjointed with that framework of beams. Quote
Dorek Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Maybe it's just because I watched Monster's Inc. but I love the Waternoose vibe. It's good to see people have been so creative with helmets and stuff; nice to see some masks from the good old days, and Dume's helmet works very well here. Trans-light green is an interesting choice, but it doesn't clash as much as it could have, so props for that. That said, if he was a doctor before, was he still a Hero? I don't think we've see any Hero doctors yet =P Quote
DraikNova Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 The colors and idea are very near perfect; the problems this MOC has are simply the color of the brain (the one from Scarox or the one from Ogrum might work better) and how the lack of texture on the torso contrasts the detailed hero core. Quote

Well, I choose this brain color because it fits the trans neon green armor pieces. I always built strictly color-coded on my mocs. Quote
DraikNova Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 That's exactly my point. The yellow brain is a completely different color than the tr. neon green, so I suggested it would work better with a green one. Quote

The yellow brain is a completely different color than the tr. neon green, so I suggested it would work better with a green one. The only green ones are Tr. Bright Green and Tr. Green, both of which would be visibly different from the Tr. Fluorescent Green the model uses. I think Zero made the right choice going with a yellow brain. Quote
