ApophisV Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 hey all, when i was bored three days ago in my appartment (remember: not tv, no internet, no newspaper...) i did something VERY VERY bad.... i always tried to avoid this, but finally i couldn't resist: I TOOK MY WHOLE STAR WARS COLLECTION APART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! strange, i ever thought that i shouldn't mix the parts of NEW sets with parts of other sets (i already mixed the parts of some used sets i got at ebay)... but i did it... i took my AT-AT(!!!) apart and mixed it up with my tie, my (old) x-wing, with my b- and y-wing, with the storytellers, with all this sets!!!!!! and now i have a large box full of lego parts.... i think, it will take some weeks before i build the original models again (i need a drill press for installing a cupboard... the one drill press i have doesnt work... :( ) so i'm able to do some temporary mocs the next weeks, currently i'm working on an e-wing like (after building it, its shape remembers at the e-wing, but that wasn't my intention.... it happend by chance... ;) )spacecraft.. but i am really NOT satisfied with it... so i will take it apart again, and build something different soon... maybe a diorama... but i will take pics and i will present them here, before destroying the ship... ;) so, now i rote enough.... *cough* ;) Quote
ApophisV Posted May 19, 2004 Author Posted May 19, 2004 so guys, thanks for the replies!!! :P but a little announcement: i made a Vaadwaur Attack Ship from Star Trek Voyager, but i forgot to put the pics on disc, so they are still at my pc at home :$ , i will put them at my brickshelf gallery the next time!!! Quote
ApophisV Posted May 20, 2004 Author Posted May 20, 2004 so, here are my first two creations: first, the better one: The Vaadwaur Attack Ship from Star Trek Voyager... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=83634 (after Moderation) Some deeplinks: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...vaadwaur_00.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...vaadwaur_04.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...vaadwaur_10.jpg And for Comparison: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...adwaur_orig.jpg A few comments on this MOC: I did it a few days ago (sunday?), between 6 o'clock in the evening and 2 o'clock at night... ;) i worked with the file sheet from my "Official Star Trek Fact Files" (huh, i spend tooooo much money on this collection... :( ), more with the 3D-Picture (the one you can see above), and less with the exact blueprints... So, the model itself became a little bit unaccurate, the engine in the middle (the semi round thing...) isn't really exact.. but the worst thing are the warp coils.... they doesn't fit the orgininal plans... e.g. the orange bussard-collector things aren't only at the front, at the original they cover the complete side... so *maybe* i will rework them, but i don't think that i havent the right parts for doing this... :( but i'm surprised about the stability of the ship... i thought, it would directly fall apart... but it didn't!!! :) The problem was to connect the main body with the wings... and it was VERY fragile till i added the 1x6 and 2x6 plates that give the model a great stability... (see this pic: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...assembly_14.jpg ) so, comments are welcome!!! (why is it so much silent here the last days?!? are the 100-posts-per-day-per-person-days over?!? ) the second one is the "Apov Industries E-X2 Fighter" (don't know, where i got this silly name from...) its ugly, its blocky, it looks like a silly mixture of an e-wing, a Deathglider, a klingon Bird Of Prey and my Dropship.... i really, really dislike it.... After Moderation: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=83635 Deeplinks: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...-X2/e-x2_04.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...-X2/e-x2_07.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...-X2/e-x2_12.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ApophisV...-X2/e-x2_13.jpg Comments welcome! jonfett Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I agree with doubleT, those are really great and well built. Nice work! :D Its good to see some creations here as its a bit quiet latelt. Jon. Quote
ApophisV Posted May 21, 2004 Author Posted May 21, 2004 thanks for the kind words, pals! :) hope to see some of your creations as well!!! ;) Quote
Jipay Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 Those are awesome ! Maybe you should try to create some stargate stuff to complete your MOC section ;) Or maybe you should build something for the contest, so you can get a free snowspeeder :P Quote
ApophisV Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 yeah, i thought about building something for the contest, but i wonder what, because the parts i could use are a little bit "special"... so buildings or things like that would be a little bit difficult.... and another problem is, that i can't use the internet for searching reference pics as often.... but maybe i will get some ideas... time will show... ;) Quote
jonfett Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 My models are done but I don't have my digital camera at the moment. I will have to take the pictures with just a normal camera and then scan them onto my PC. Should be up soon! :D Jon. EDIT by ApophisV: Please stay on-topic, Jon! Remember, its about MY creations... :P (Wow, thats fun!!! Editing other peoples posts!!! :loul:) Quote
ApophisV Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 can't expect to see your model... maybe that makes it easier for me to decide if and what to create... ;) EDIT by jonfett - Apophis, consider this a warning. Please do not abuse your Mod privialges or you will be back to just a member!! He he! Quote
jonfett Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 ermm.. yes, but maybe you could do something from your own country. Hopefully everybody will recognise the english monument I have chosen. Jon. Quote
ApophisV Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 hey, thats my very own small thread here... :( so please let it be my mod playground too... ;) EDIT by Jonfett: Jon is ace! :D Quote
jonfett Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Oh ok, just so you can try it out. But don't edit silly little comments in peoples posts. Now that is just plain silly. he he!! :P Jon. P.S. Thanks, I know I am!! Quote
ApophisV Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 jon, you made my day.... lol.... though you AREN'T ace... :P (okay, what does "ace" mean?!?) Quote
jonfett Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Don't you know what that means?? I guess it is sort of english slang. For super or excellent. I'm glad I made your day AND widened you volcabulary!! Jon. Quote
ApophisV Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 since i'm member at this board, i learned more english than in the 7 years a had it at school!!! :D your the best english teacher i ever had!!! ;) Quote
jonfett Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Well thanks!! :$ But I really need to improve my German. Ich bin nicht gut im duetsche! I don't even think that was good! Jon. Quote
jonfett Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 huh?? I don't even understand myself what I put. :D Jon. Quote
jonfett Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Please stop teasing me for my bad German!! :( Jon. Quote
ApophisV Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 erm yes... what are you now talking about?!? oh and your sentence: Ich bin nicht gut im duetsche not "im" but "in", and "deutsch".... So it should be "Ich bin nicht gut in Deutsch." (what's a lie after all what i read here and in other threads.... ;)) But german people often have problems in using "im" and "in" in the right cases too... ;) but afterall, if we can understand what the others want to say (hehe, DoubleT often uses "know" instead of "now"... :P), we should be happy!!! ;) (i am more the scientist math/physics and less a language guy...) Quote
jonfett Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Thanks for the help Apophis!! I often get confused because many of the words look and sound simaler. Jon. Quote
DoubleT Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Lets all speak Danish ups sorry English then ;) Quote
ApophisV Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 yeah, many people say that German is a really difficult language... i sometimes get confused too... ;) Quote
