VBBN Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 AKA, Tyrant 2.0 (tyrant 1.0 http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=70810 ) Will be cracking out the DSLR later this week on a decent weather day but I'm modding it at the moment so I had to resort to a...less than ideal method, hopefully will be able to snap some better photos than the below average ones here(Over grainified...thanks phone camera.) Whatever, there is Chaos. Yes, I changed his name. Less fire this time, more color scheme consistency. Yes, I know he has two red bone pieces in his legs and an orange torso bit on his waist. No, I do not have replacements for those. Yes, I am buying ones in black. And he needed a weapon; What is more fitting than a big ***ing hammer? Anyways this is the most major changes I'll be making to Chaos for now, it's time for me to move on to a new project. PROJECT HALCYON. Sorry, no teaser leg shots this time around, but keep on eye out on the things I post and you may just see a teaser soon enough. I'll give some hints; -I like white. And trans blue. Don't you? -Building big was fun. -Chaos looks lonely up there. Good day VBBN Quote
Chro Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 That's awesome. Great improvements over the previous Tyrant build. From some shots the gaps (especially in the torso and the sort-of-empty waist/crotch area) look pretty bad, but it might be sort of difficult to cover those in a way that looks good, so whatever. Halcyon sounds neat, by the way. Quote
Dorek Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Colors seem a little wonky at times, but it comes together better in the upper body, and that face is just perfect. The hammer seems unnecessary, as the design doesn't particularly match the rest of the MoC. Looks like he's doing a fine job without it, anyway; poor Tahu. It's always inspiring to see Hero Factory builds at that scale, so bravo good sir. Quote
WARHEAD Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 That's a lotta tires. Overall this guy is very impressive, the scale of him especially. there are some flaws though, such as the clearly visible gaps in the torso and limbs but I'm sure that with more pieces those could be covered up. the other thing is that the colors do get messy in some areas, I would have excluded the silver entirely. This guy is still a monumental improvement over the first version though and it's truly impressive that he can even stand by himself :v Also, that head is gorgeous. Halcyon sounds neat too, can't wait to see how that develops. Quote
VBBN Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Thanks for the feedback everyone, Yes, the silver is the odd one out color wise here, and my next improvements on this guy will be to refine his color scheme. The main change with this version was to get rid of the horrid amount of red, yellow, orange, etc, from Tyrant. Getting him to all black, gunmetal, and silver was the first challenge. The Silver is difficult to remove completely because some vital parts are silver; The toes, claws, and that 8-long silver piece is vital as well. Speaking of which, I'd like to comment on that; His middle toe on both feet is the long silver 8 long armor piece found on drilldozer's torso. That piece is locked in place and all of his frontal weight rests on that connection, whilst the back rests on the two "thruster" pieces. Usually this caused some stability issues because posing his feet to an angle could cause him to slip out under his own weight. As WARHEAD noted, he is surprised this guy can support his own weight; That's the secret, Chaos actually can support himself; Tyrant was a pain in the megablocks to pose without him collapsing. With Chaos, he has en entire third support, bringing the amount of connection points for his leg to 3. As for the gaps, there are a few things to take into mind. Yes, I'm still at a lack of parts, trying to budget myself here because I'm getting a more pricey car that's going to kill me on insurance. At the same note, there is a secret thing that I'll be building into him that'll cover a lot of the gaps. Every update to him will be focused on gap filling and color refining; The main design of him at this point is about final. Also yes, the hammer will be redone later, but again I have very limited parts to work with; Once I get the parts that I'm trying to get, it should look a lot "meaner" and bulkier. Quote
Zachattacx Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Absolutely monstrous! He's big and with the fact that you did this with HF only..I'm guessing? Is absolutely awesome! My only problem would be the silver, though that's only a nitpick. GREAT moc! Quote
coolkwins Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 The2 things I would reccomend is to cover up the gaps, and to make the face a little bit more menacing. Overall, you had put a ton of effort into this, but the moc is still great. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Wow! Let me get the drool of my iPad! Very, very nice, I love it. He looks pretty BA, could probly kick makuatas butt! How long did it take to build/redesign? Quote
DraikNova Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 He´s looking pretty good. I can´t believe I haven´t commented on him yet. While the body´s not too good, the head and the warhammer seem to be the best parts of the MOC. Quote
