DrFrankenstein Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) Order shipped from S@H USA with hot dog stand freebee. Got a FedEx tracking number at hand. Mission complete. Glad I managed to place my order shortly before midnight (approximately 2350GMT-5) My order number is Y45175194x (last digit replaced with x). Would be interesting to get a few other data points to estimate the rate of order accumulation between the time they released 41999 and when it went out of stock (approximately 0200GMT-5, I guess). Edit: Just pulled my entire order history with S@H USA. If these numbers are anything to go by, it seems like the sales volume is trending up. Anyone else want to share? We could make an interesting graph out of it with a few more datapoints and see how it correlates with promotions, etc: 2013-08-01 Y4517519xx 2012-10-17 Y2782395xx 2012-10-01 Y1985779xx 2012-03-20 Y1938557xx 2012-03-02 Y1439193xx 2011-10-08 Y1307204xx 2011-08-24 Y1170573xx Edited August 1, 2013 by DrFrankenstein Quote
Defaultsound Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 They charge de credit card only when shipping, so if they cancel the order afterwards they won't even have to reimburse you as they would not charge you first. At least I think it is how they work for BE/FR area. So if they don't charge me I could get it for free? If they can't get my order done that is. Quote
maxxens Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Well Lego just made £2,799,800 in less than one day... [edit] I really hope they make another batch! Thinking about that with all of the work around the BOSS (i.e. hand build tyres) and the limited series of special parts I would be surprised if this set is balanced around 0. Quote

I got my order confirmation around 8:40PM PST last night. Order number is Y4511537xx. Still no order shipped email yet. But if you got yours shipped and I ordered way ahead of you, I should be fine. antp Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 So if they don't charge me I could get it for free? If they can't get my order done that is. You mean they would send separately the free miniset ? If so, I guess so. Or else they will cancel the whole order. Quote

Doesn't seem realistic that they would crank so many orders in the USA alone in such a short period of time (even under the circumstances). Perhaps these order numbers are global (i.e. the ordering system is the same across the entire S@H system)? Quote

My order, placed from Sweden around 1 am CEST (GMT+2, that is, a few hours before yours) got order number Y451630xxx. I would think that the order numbers are not entirely linear, at least not globally... Unless you used time machines. Cheaters. Quote

Jim Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Yes paid an ready to be shipped. My Lego order has shipped as well.....the Mini Mech that is. So I reckon I will get the crawler later. You mean they would send separately the free miniset ? If so, I guess so. Or else they will cancel the whole order. My free miniset has been shipped separately. Quote
Darth Dino Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Hi i recently made my order. The shop said backorder until 22nd august. Lets see, maybe they cancel a lot of those mass sellers, using multiple accounts but similar adresses. I hope i got one. Dino Quote
antp Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) My free miniset has been shipped separately. Weird. Well if we do not get the wanted set, at least we'll get that mini set for free :D (at least I hope...) Edited August 1, 2013 by antp Quote
750ACE Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) A change of pace here: for people like myself who bought one in the store today are you going to open the box, build and display it? Will you apply stickers? I'm torn I don't know if I want to build it since I already know performance sucks from owning 9398, and just keep the box sealed. Not to mention I think the wheelbase profile picture is to short and not inline with the fenders. Then again I want to display the finished product and be happy I'm an owner within a group if 20k worldwide. Edited August 1, 2013 by 750ACE Quote

Jim Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Weird. Well if we do not get the wanted set, at least we'll get that mini set for free :D (at least I hope...) I am guessing that we will get the crawler. Otherwise, why would they send us the miniset?! However, I keep reading messages about TLG overselling the set. But since they approve orders manually, getting the miniset seems like a good enough confirmation to me. Hopefully... Quote
dragofoscar Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I Placed my Order 5 Minutes after it went online this morning. My Order number is y32... Not shipped yet. But soon, i think... :0) Quote
bp10030 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 ordered at 00:37 a.m. CEST, number: Y4516343xx (still in process) Quote
DrFrankenstein Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) Ok, here are the reported order numbers and time the order was placed (all adjusted to GMT): 2013-08-01T04:55 Y422403xxx 2013-08-01T04:50 Y4517519xx 2013-08-01T04:40 Y4511537xx 2013-07-31T23:40 Y4516336xx 2013-07-31T23:00 Y451630xxx 2013-07-31T22:37 Y4516343xx Clearly, the order numbers don't line up with the timestamps (even within the same regions). Perhaps if examined longitudinally (over a period of months and years) they would make more sense. Oh well... Edited August 1, 2013 by DrFrankenstein Quote

Alternator Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 provided my order goes through, I'll build mine and put the stickers on - I pretty much always apply the stickers to sets; the worst case is I decide to remove the stickers later on... but otherwise the purpose of keeping the unused sticker sheets around wasn't so valuable to me. (I suppose many years later it could be interesting to look at or scan to provide bricklinkers an option to generate their own sheets). Quote

I'm going to scan and print my sticker sheet to keep the originals intact. That way I can apply the copies and remove them as many times as I want. Also have my licence plate number forever. Quote

I do the same thing with sets that I want to apply the stickers too, a friend works at a print shop for car wraps and makes me nice vinyl stickers for the rare set I put stickers on. I am not a huge fan of stickers and like the clean look without them. This set is improved by them. Quote
