As I understood it, the dark/Earth blue color of the 41999 was exclusive to this set only.

But it is a great looking color, and I personally would like to see more sets featuring this color, maybe in some 1H 2014 sets.

Earth blue has been in many sets before. bionicle, city, agents,star wars, creator, and so on, but i think this is the fist technic set with earth blue.

I placed an order yesterday upon which I received an e-mail stating that TLG will get in contact with me about payment options. I ordered 8 rims and some panels, for around 40 euros.

Answer from TLG (translated to English):

We appreciate your interest. Since the parts are from a limited set, we cannot send you the requested parts.

Shouldn't be to hard to disable these parts when ordering from an existing set. Might be because you need to be able to select them as replacement parts. Could be implemented better I guess.

I ordered on the 5th August and just got the Mini-Mech today but my 41999 is still backordered. CS couldn't tell me if I will get the set or not in September or when they will be available. CS said that due to very high demand it could be possible that I won't get one.

What do you guys think, should I still have hope for when the 2nd batch gets out?

I'm getting it delivered to relatives who are in more than me to collect parcels so I really hope it doesn't get lost, forgotten, dropped, incinerated, squashed, etc... by the delivery people or anyone else!

So I started building the boss this morning. I must be the slowest builder ever, or I'm just taking my sweet time, 'cause I'm only on book 3. LOL! I tested the wench with my key chain, it's hilarious!
