Why announce you have a suspect when you are not going to reveal them? And why only via PM and not in public?

Gotta say, I'm not convinced. You haven't been particularly helpful, and with Zachary gone, you are firmly on top of my suspicion list.

I'll vote: Connie (Clanure)

Everyone has suspicions. It's the name of the game. Doesn't mean we need to reveal them.

Did you miss the "or otherwise" part? Ask your questions here too, I'll answer them.

Fine by me if I'm at the top. Won't do you much good.

In fact, I remember a tale of an old mining town in which everyone wrote down their suspicions on potatoes, and a responsible individual counted them up and shared the results with the group. If I recall correctly, the method was helpful in finding scum. Do you want to try that here?

Having never dealt with a poisoner before, I don't know much about it, but this does seem to mesh with Zachary's odd statements. If he knew he was going to die, though, wouldn't the only person who wanted to be lynched if he already knew he was going to die be a scum? A Townie would probably tell the folks that he had been poisoned and was going to die, so don't waste a vote on him and focus on someone else since he was a lost cause. That's the way I see it at least. If I knew I was marked for death and had 1 more day to live before the toxin got me and was on the chopping block, as a Townie, I think I would tell people what had happened.

I must admit, most of my scum-dar on him was due to these odd statements, though he was fishing for results early on before the defeatist attitude. My next in line that I felt needed a little prodding was Beatrice. I agree that Connie doesn't talk a lot, but I'm not convinced it makes her scummy yet. Beatrice has been pretty much downright fluffy, stating the obvious.

Vote: Beatrice (Bob)

Ok, Connie. I'll ask some questions...

How does keeping your suspicions to yourself help the town?

How is this a pro-town attitude? You sound an awful lot like Zachary here.

After doing some reading, I wonder why he didn't do any asking about a Doctor? I assume the poisoned knows what has happened to them.

Jessica, I'm going to be honest. I'm having a hard time believing that you were able to put 2 and 2 together with the wine spilling and Poisoner. If that is really the case of what is happening here.

My gut says that Zach got fatalistic first because people were stating their suspicions of him. Then he got poisoned and KNEW he was going to die and made his later statements. Not sure why someone would choose to kill him, but hopefully we'll learn tomorrow. Perhaps our vig is a poisoner and chose Zach based on everyone's suspicions. I doubt the scum would have reason to off him when he's drawing suspicion.

Of course you can't believe it - it's a huge leap and Capt. Whatshisface (thank you, Patrick) said there aren't any clues in pictures. The situation merely made me think of a poisoner, and I was surprised to see Zachary dead. Are you trying to imply anything?

Since Molly's post got in the way, I'll just be clear that I responded to Liz in this post.

If I'm suspicious of someone and I don't voice it, it's because my suspicion is nebulous and I'm waiting for more information. Whether or not I choose to be cautious with my mud slinging is my choice.

How else would you like me to say that I'm town and lynching me only puts the town further behind?

You must have SOME basis for suspicions. If that basis exists, it's possible that others haven't noticed it but can put things together. We need townies to contribute as we're far more effective in scum hunting when we are openly sharing ideas and working as a team rather than working individually. The fact is, you haven't provided any original thought of your own these three days. You have followed everyone else. It seems awfully convenient of you to say on Day 3 that your second highest suspicion the other day just so happens now to be the person that is garnering votes.

How else would you like me to say that I'm town and lynching me only puts the town further behind?

I don't want you to say it. I want you to prove it. It's like being in love. Saying you love someone is meaningless unless you show it with your actions. Given your lack of concern over your husband's death, I'm guessing you have never understood that.

Yes, I think it's a huge leap to put those together, but I guess if you have been in a situation where a Poisoner was present, I guess it could pop up in the thought process. I have never seen it, so it wasn't even on my radar. I'm not implying I believe you to be the Poisoner, just odd to me that it was your thought process, but I've already discussed why we could think differently.

Connie, the fact of the matter is simple as this. You are under scrutiny, in that case, the best way to help the town, would be to say as much as possible. Doing that often helps to prove to the town that that person is indeed town. The scum and other scummy persons try not to say too much, because everything they say has a chance of contradicting or otherwise messing up. Most of the time anyway. The best way to help yourself and the town is getting all of what you think out there. An attitude is not going to help anyone but the scum at this point. That's what I think anyway. Collect your thoughts, give us a detailled reason why you are not scum.

What you've said so far has not convinced me at all that you're not, anyway. :shrug_confused:

It seems Connie has arrived. Connie, what makes you not want to reveal your suspicions? You can help the town in doing so, which you aren't really doing right now. What confuses me even farther is that you say you either don't know what's going on, and you don't want to answer anything, unless it's in PM. What's so special about PM? Why are you so reluctant to answer anything in thread? I want you to clarify and attempt to convince us that you're town, because frankly, I'm believing less that you're town. I'm not ready to switch my vote to you, though. I want to hear something from Auntie Fluff.

Right now, I'm actually interested in Jessica. I find it odd that the extent of her contributions today is jumping on the Connie wagon without bringing anything new to the table, in essence just sheeping, and then she comes in and makes some post about a metagame tactic and then leaves? It looks to me very much like she's trying to appear helpful without actually pointing any fingers anywhere but where they're already being pointed. Therefore, I will Vote: Jessica (jamesn).

I'm not sure who to vote really. Good points have been raised against 3 people, but I find the point Kane raised about the relatively unsuspected Jessica. She has been flying under the radar, and has been a fluffy poster so far. Therefore, I shall Vote: Jessica (Jamesn) .

The fact is that when Prudence copied all of Connie's posts for us to see with appropriate commentary, nothing remained to be said about Connie's behaviour. Connie has been one of my suspects in private (one or more of you know) and today was the day to put pressure on her.

Saying someone's posts are "fluffy" is a great way to disregard everything that person has said. In fact, I

  • Pointed out that Connie was fishing for night actions before anyone else
  • Theorized about a cult (probably wrong, but still worth mentioning)
  • Mentioned a technique to find scum

The fact that asking everyone for their suspects in private works on a meta- level doesn't make it any less valid a way to catch scum.

In fact, Boris, I could turn the "fluffy, under the radar" tables on you.

Pointed out that Connie was fishing for night actions before anyone else

Which I take offense to. I was at least the second person (Liz post #4, Me post #18) to mention it and was actually trying to wrap my head around what types of PR's or NA's could have been used to get the results we did. I wasn't expecting someone to jump up and claim or anything.

Tristan: I never said I was only willing to answer via PM. Geez, should have known better than to even put the word out there.

What the hell? Is there a day vig, or was this the work of Independents, or a modkill? There's way too many possibilities. I'm going to vote for someone who i feel needs to speak up and explain their absence.

Vote: Beatrice Kingsley (Bob)

You seem very eager to try and vote me off. Why?

Fair enough, I've got what I wanted. You've given a defence. Unvote:Jessica (Jamesn)

And Beatrice, people want explanations and a defence from you, as do I.

You know who I meant.

Mod Note: Sorry, was rushed for time and didn't notice your vote (don't put it at the end of your post!!! ). I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will never be anal retentive about the votes.

A defence for what? An explanation of what? And my name isn't Beatrice, it's Bernice.

You're actually right. I misread there. My bad. Still, you shouldn't have to answer anything in PM.

You seem very eager to try and vote me off. Why?

You're kidding, right? I've explained it quite a few times. I even explained my vote in my entry. You're awfully quiet, and you've said a grand total of one thing that added to the conversation. You've had quite a few people call you out and all you're doing is asking why you're being called out, when we've all explained multiple times that you need to add to the conversation. I'm not sure why that's hard to understand, frankly. :sadnew::sceptic:

Unfortunately, I won't be around to read the rest of the day's entries. In the likely case that I'm not around for the rest of the day, I would like to give my vote to someone I trust in case something better comes up.

Unvote: Beatrice Kingsley (Bob)

Proxy: Kenneth Emmanuel (fhomess)

I know, we haven't seen him that long, but I've found his behavior to be that of a villager so far, so I think I can trust him with my vote.

I don't get this. There are 29 hours left, and you let someone off the hook with your vote that still hasn't given a decent amount of conversation? And on top of it, to give it to the new guy in town? I understand not being able to be around, we all have jobs around town, but let the vote stick if that is who you feel the most comfortable voting. This 180 seems odd.
