lightningtiger Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 I've done some more to this and as you can see....parts are becoming an issue. I will try and keep going......not easy when you are strapped for cash.......keep watching anyway. Quote
ER0L Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I really love your small Art Deco style buildings like the bank and post office. This one looks promising, too. Perhaps it would look better with a flat roof instead of the red one? ... Anyhow looking forward to the end result! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Perhaps it would look better with a flat roof instead of the red one? I agree, the red roof looks a bit out of place, in color and height. I think ER0L's got the right idea for a flat roof to keep with the a.d. look Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 I'll see what I can do about the roof today......it's all right I guess but there is something saying it's out of place to me too. I was able to dig up enough bricks to build up to this point yesterday.....keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 I hope this looks better..... I still have some interior work to do.....hopefully by tomorrow night I'll have the hardware store totally done and dusted....then the grocery store...so keep watching - whew ! Quote
Man with a hat Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Wow, big improvement there with the flat roof. Keep going. I really enjoy looking at your buildings. Quote
scottwb2010 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Liking the Art Deco shops LT. The Hardware store building looks far better with the flat roof. Quote
dvsntt Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 with the adjustment to the roof, you nailed it. That looks great. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Thanks 'dvsntt' and 'scott' for your positive vibes, I too am happier with the new roof.......I'll try and start the grocery store......but I'm not sure it should be single storey with a high frontage or two storey - either way there are designs from the past I can use ? Keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 I decided to increased the ceiling height of the second storey so it looked a bit more realistic......keep watching. Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I like the look of the building facades, they do have an old town Americana feel. One idea though, find some way to add a back to the buildings. Maybe a removable Lego wall, or a piece of cardstock could be used; adding to the looks, while easily removed for play. Quote

Thanks for the feedback, though adding backs to any of my creations would make sense except cost factor stops that idea in it's tracks. Quote
timmyc1983 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Yeah I much prefer the new façade of the Hardware Store, looks great Happy building Quote

lightningtiger Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 I still wondering about the grocery store everyone, should it be single or double storey ? Once that is decided I can make a start on the grocery store. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Single Okay, I'll start in the next few days......keep watching ! Quote
