Flipz Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Sort of. It's considered an unarmed strike, and deals damage equal to your level. Note, you can't deal put venom on your hands since they aren't technically a weapon. Chi Monk is all about using unarmed strikes. That sounds like a really cool artifact idea for Chi Monk. Quote
Yzalirk Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I was also looking through different pages, primarily at classes, and noticed some of the Ether based classes and read that Ether is restored either by drinking a Tonic or resting. Does Ether refill after a battle or would you still have to rest or drink a Tonic either during a battle or after a battle? Quote
Asphalt Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Ether is only refilled by drinking a tonic or resting(if you have a bed roll or are half barbarian) At the end of a successful battle a player gains one Ether. so 1/5 becomes 2/6 at the end of a battle won. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) New glove idea, inspired by Flipz's comment: Gloves of the Potion-Maker: Venom can be applied when fighting without a weapon; handwear; all classes Edited June 15, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote

I'm assuming you're referring to when a player levels up after a battle? Because otherwise, Ether is only gained through resting or tonics. Quote

Enceladus Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 The rules page says clerics can use 'heavy, blunt weapons'. Dose this mean I can use clubs? Quote
JimBee Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 The rules page says clerics can use 'heavy, blunt weapons'. Dose this mean I can use clubs? No, you can only use what is listed as suitable. Quote
Asphalt Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 The rules page has a full list of which weapon types are useable by which job classes. Quote
Yzalirk Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) How would you guys feel about Automaton characters in quests, as NPC's or enemies, that look something like this? Would this appeal to you guys or no? Some feedback would be nice for some ideas I'm working on. Edited June 19, 2015 by Goliath Quote
Asphalt Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Gonna say that is a bit too on the space tech side of things. I would suggest go more of the golem/elemental/steampunk route. Quote

I would of course modify the other hand so it doesn't look like a laser cannon. The pack could be removed, on the back, or could be recognized as an Ether pack for any spell-casting automaton. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 A question popped in my head. Would I be able to use this: 4X Obsidian Shard: may be affixed to a blunt weapon to give the Bleeding 2 effect for one battle. on this Wrench (WP:3, decreases the target’s level by 1; throwing weapon) Now i am not sure if "throwing weapons" are "blunt weapons". But, I considered a "wrench" a blunt item. Quote
Asphalt Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 No Sandy classified range weapons as non-blunt. Quote
JimBee Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 A question that's probably come up in the past but I'm not clear on: Do attacks that have damage nullified by elemental multipliers or immunities still transfer effects as applicable? For example, if attacking an Ethereal enemy with a fire-elemental weapon that can deal the Sealed-effect, 0 damage is dealt but is Sealed inflicted? How about if high defense nullifies an attack? In both of these cases in the past, effects have still been transferred (both Hero-on-enemy and enemy-on-Hero). Quote

For example, if attacking an Ethereal enemy with a fire-elemental weapon that can deal the Sealed-effect, 0 damage is dealt but is Sealed inflicted? How about if high defense nullifies an attack? For simplicity's sake, effects are always transferred on a successful hit, even if it doesn't cause damage. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Can Venoms be used on Dragons so their attacks are Poisoned? Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Can Venoms be used on Dragons so their attacks are Poisoned? I vote for this. Quote
Kintobor Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) I vote for this. I vote against this. Why would you actively poison the dragon you're calling a companion? And how does that even work? You poison it's breath attack? So you put the poison in the dragons mouth? Edited June 26, 2015 by Kintobor Quote

Also, can you Poison a Chi Monk's hands? Quote

No to the hands, since they don't count as a weapon, and you need a weapon to use poison. Edited June 26, 2015 by Kintobor Quote
Endgame Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) Rules page say that items can be used on the dragon, so I'd say you can apply the poison effect to it. Once again, I'm in the camp that logic shouldn't neccasarily dictate all game rules (e.g. the necromancer debate.) Maybe you just slather it on their teeth, and it gets transmitted to their breath via the saliva or something? Edited June 26, 2015 by Endgame Quote
