Flipz Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I was originally thinking the Bossk head would work but I suppose it can't really work for a Nautican than. Any thoughts on what I could use the Bossk head for? The Bossk head's been used for Scheuster, the butler to the Ziegfrieds, but he's explicitly been stated to be the result of a magical experiment gone wrong, not a lizardman, I think. Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) The Bossk head's been used for Scheuster, the butler to the Ziegfrieds, but he's explicitly been stated to be the result of a magical experiment gone wrong, not a lizardman, I think. He could try hand-waving the character as having been in some way related to that experiment, or another iteration of it, etc. They're Zeigfrieds - shouldn't be too much of a problem. Unless somehow this particular case would go against canon... Edited August 12, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
Palathadric Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) OoC: Sandy, correct me if I'm wrong, the armor counts as one artifact but takes up three slots, right? Yep. Edited August 13, 2015 by Palathadric Quote

Sandy Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 2 things: -Does Shield Bash take into account the gems imbued/does it do elemental damage? -What is the formula for calculating damage done by a PC? No, shields do not cause elemental damage. I don't understand your second question... Normal hits are always level+WP+bonus power, if that's what you're asking. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I guess I mean modifiers. Is elemental damage calculated on WP or Lvl+WP and Encouraged is Total Damage x2. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I guess I mean modifiers. Is elemental damage calculated on WP or Lvl+WP and Encouraged is Total Damage x2. First page, elements cause double damage (i.e. WP+LV+modifiers) and meads double power (WP+LV+modifiers). Quote
Asphalt Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I have seen it applied both ways. (WP+Level)x2 and WPX2 +Level. 12(wp)+30(LV)=42 X2= 84 or 12(WP)X2=24+30(lv)=54 Quote

UsernameMDM Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) So, which formula is it?: ((WP x Elements) + Level + Power Bonus) x Status Modifier or ((WP + Level) x Elements + Power Bonus) × Status Modifier ? And Crits are x WP? Edited August 16, 2015 by UsernameMDM Quote
Endgame Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) (WP (times whatever the roll dictates) + Level + Power Bonus) x Element x Modifiers Edited August 16, 2015 by Endgame Quote

And Crits are x WP? Both are wrong. ([WPxCrit]+Level+Power bonus) X elements X Encouraged/Weakened Quote
Zepher Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Both are wrong. ([WPxCrit]+Level+Power bonus) X elements X Encouraged/Weakened Still not quite how I do it, though I've seen it different ways. ([([WPxCrit]+Level+Power bonus) X elements X Encouraged] - SP) X Fragile Quote
Sandy Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Guys, I put my battle calculations in parentheses so you can see how the damage is calculated yourselves. It's not that complicated, just see for yourselves! Damage multipliers (elements and effects) always affect the entire sum of power, and SP is reduced after the multipliers. We've been playing for four years now, this shouldn't be news to anyone... Quote
Palathadric Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Yeah, Zeph, I think that's right. Unless Sandy says otherwise now, I'm pretty sure Fragile only comes into affect after the SP is calculated. In general, though, I haven't actually seen many battles done wrong where it wasn't corrected, but then again, I don't follow the battles on every quest (or even my own) as closely as I used to because of time/Endgame battles. Quote
Sandy Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 Yeah, Zeph, I think that's right. Unless Sandy says otherwise now, I'm pretty sure Fragile only comes into affect after the SP is calculated. I just said all effect multipliers are counted before SP reduction. Why would fragile be an exception? Quote
Flipz Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 If a Regulator in Chaotic mode is wearing a White Marksman Hat (1/6 Assasination chance vs Flying enemies) and uses their Wild Mind Free Hit on a Flying enemy before the rest of combat begins, does the Assasination roll still go through? On another Regulator note, does Calculating Mind stack with the Initiative round granted by having a Paragon in the party (so the Regulator can use two items while the rest of the party still only gets one)? Yzalirk Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Are there possible ways to get armor that causes damage upon physical attacks just like this one, Thorny Leather Armor (SP:4; causes damage equal to the armor's SP to all that attack the user physically; suitable to barbarians and beast warriors; bodywear), from Quest #100? Quote
Zepher Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Yeah, track down a piece of loot with that in the description. Quote
Yzalirk Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Okay, what do you mean by tracking it down? Quote
JimBee Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Okay, what do you mean by tracking it down? Er... It's not just going to appear from the sky. You have to, you know, actually get a drop or buy it from another player. Why is this a rules question? Quote
K-Nut Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Okay, what do you mean by tracking it down? Look for it in the Stats Page, the Treasury, and/or the Wiki. I think Johon got some armor like that on Quest #135. Quote
