Waterbrick Down Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) While it can last multiple turns, it only affords you a single turn of invulnerability either by stopping one Damage/Special Damage/Free Hit. Blinded stops Damage and Free Hits for three rounds, while Asleep/Fast Asleep stop multiple Free Hits for three/six turns. In terms of usefulness for debilitating enemies generally Petrified>Blinded=Sealed>Fast Asleep>Asleep>Stunned. There are exceptions and a lot of it is situational. Lind Whisperer Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Libra Signet (This sealing ring bears the secret emblem of the merchant’s guild. The owner can purchase items at a discount (decided by the QM) in any store during a quest. Does not apply to the Marketplace.) Costs 500 gold. I understand that it can only be used "by the owner," but is there anything to prevent a single group of questees from buying a ring together, and then taking turns going into shops with the ring? Oh, by the way, is that Claok of the Grand Vizier able to have Bright Polish used on it? Because I can see it getting super OP otherwise. Edited October 11, 2015 by Endgame Quote
Kintobor Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Question: what is the Libra Signet's classification? Is it an artefact, or a tool? Quote

It should not be passed around. Only the buyer should benefit from it. Oh, by the way, is that Claok of the Grand Vizier able to have Bright Polish used on it? Because I can see it getting super OP otherwise. Yes, it is. And yes, if a person is willing to invest gold on it, it can get OP. Question: what is the Libra Signet's classification? Is it an artefact, or a tool? Neither. It's just an item that has a specific purpose for the carrier, like the books that give access to expert jobs. Quote
Palathadric Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I understand that it can only be used "by the owner," but is there anything to prevent a single group of questees from buying a ring together, and then taking turns going into shops with the ring? I doubt it would be allowed, but then again, everyone could give his or her gold to the person with the ring and him or her could buy all the items. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Yes, it is. And yes, if a person is willing to invest gold on it, it can get OP. You can say that again...Only 1000 gold, Alliance membership, a standard five-member party, and you're at 25: SP. Not too shabby at all... I doubt it would be allowed, but then again, everyone could give his or her gold to the person with the ring and him or her could buy all the items. Quite true. Quote
swils Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 And yes, if a person is willing to invest gold on it, it can get OP. Can we revisit and possibly apply that logic to the: Crystal Shield (SP:2 multiplied by the amount of gems imbued; cannot be upgraded otherwise; shield) Please, pretty please? Quote
Endgame Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Can we revisit and possibly apply that logic to the: Please, pretty please? Can we please not? I've been operating under the philsophy that individdual items should not be OP, but combinations of them should be. I feel like 1000 or so gold for SP: 15-25 is a lot. Endgame Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 If they have the items, they deserve to use them to their full capacity. What the capacity of those items are is the question. Quote

Jebediahs Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Can a berserker target a new enemy if they know their target from the previous round will be defeated by their turn in the current round? For instance, ZerkerPlayer has been fighting Battering Ram which now has 2 health left. In the current round, 1stListedPlayer throws a bomb. Does ZerkerPlayer still need to post that he/she is going to attack Battering Ram, post a conditional action (if Battering Ram is defeated then...) or can they simply post they're going to attack a new target? Quote
JimBee Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 A Berserker can change targets as soon as their current target is defeated. So yes, stating a conditional action in the case of the target's defeat is fair. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 If they have the items, they deserve to use them to their full capacity. What the capacity of those items are is the question. I meant as in QMs not always trying to one-up items they drop for their players. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Royal Seal of Salmanda (Grants the holder access everywhere in Salmanda at any time of the day; quest item.) Is this just for #135? Could this be theoretically used outside of #135? Quote
CMP Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Is this just for #135? Could this be theoretically used outside of #135? Really? Quote
Emjajoas Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) Based on the fact that it says it's a Quest Item.... Well, it's safe to assume it's quite literally only for 130. Edited October 14, 2015 by Emjajoas Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Really? Based on the fact that it says it's a Quest Item.... Well, it's safe to assume it's quite literally only for 135. An item that granted access to all of one of the wealthiest cities on Olegia, that's not mentioned as having any person-specific markings - it seemed worth double-checking. In the case of future visits there, even just lay-overs, that'd be a pretty useful - albiet, a bit mechanic-breaking - trinket to have. Quote
Sandy Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 I hope everyone took notice of the latest adjustments I made for some classes, for I have unpinned the announcement topic now. All the changes were discussed earlier, so there was nothing new about them. Is this just for #135? Could this be theoretically used outside of #135? That item is just for #130. At least I always remove all quest items from the party's inventory after the quest is over. Quote

Zepher Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Oh, I like it when people get to keep Quest items. It would allow Boomingham to use and abuse it all over the place, and I know others like to keep them as trophies as well. But no worries. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) Sandy: Just in case I ever get banned - for any reason - could I set a will, stating that Lind auto-distributes his gear to x, y, and z? (In the case of such an event happening.) Everyone: (No, I'm not planning on doing anything crazy, I was just having a...conversation that was starting to heat up in another thread, and I wanted to make sure that if something ever did happen - as I could see future conversations on the same topic arising, and possibly become even hotter - that my gear wouldn't go to waste.)
