samurai-turtle Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Jinxed only affects attacks, not me using items, right? Quote
Enceladus Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) Jinxed only affects attacks, not me using items, right? Well there's no rolling (of die) involved in using items so I don't think so And jinxed is whenever you would roll a die for a PC action, you roll twice and the worst result applies Edited July 9, 2016 by Enceladus Quote

samurai-turtle Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 (edited) Why do I think this is more of "passive special" than a "weapon description". (From quest 148) Bow of the Void (WP:10, each demon and ethereal enemy alive in the battle temporarily increases the WP by 1, longbow) Edited July 27, 2016 by samuraiturtle Quote
Flipz Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I...think I handled a Sealed Evoker correctly? It's only 30 extra damage if I'm wrong, since Sigil ended up KO'd anyway, but de-summoning seemed like the most logical result of Sealing an Evoker. Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Can Double Damage to X multipliers stack, if they're part of gear? (E.g.: Generic Bodywear(Bodywear, x2 against Beasts), Generic Helmet(Helmet, x2 against Beasts) - would that grant x4 against Beasts, or just x2?) Quote

(From quest 148) Bow of the Void (WP:10, each demon and ethereal enemy alive in the battle temporarily increases the WP by 1, longbow) I am going to bring this up again, because it looks like it is going to be out in the wild. That weapon seems like a bad idea to use in the right/wrong situation. Unless it is just going to get sold. Or some how get in The Demon Germ's hands. Edited August 18, 2016 by samuraiturtle Quote

Keep in mind, it only adds +1 WP when there's an enemy demon in the area. Unless Germ's got some plans we don't know about... EDIT to my previous question(I thought I remembered something, didn't realize it was on the very previous page. ): Let's say that for the sake of balance, artifacts with the same or similar ability do not stack, even if multiple are equipped at the same time. The artifact with the highest benefit takes precedence.I'll add this to the FAQ. I assume "ability" includes Enemy multipliers? Edited August 18, 2016 by Lind Whisperer Quote

You better read it again it says nothing about "enemies". The only thing I could of think of (assuming I have this bow) is let a allie ranger use it and it would boost my attack. (I am not sure this could work with K-Nut's character too.) Sorry, I am wrong. I can't read or remember things right. But, my original point still stands. It still seems like a "passive special" than a weapon description, to me anyways. Edited August 18, 2016 by samuraiturtle Quote

I can't read or remember things right. But, my original point still stands. It still seems like a "passive special" than a weapon description, to me anyways. K-Nut's character is undead, not demonic (though he is (was?) marked by an archdemon). Arthur is potentially demonic, depending on whether or not you classify a human-turned-living-embodiment-of-Chaos-in-semiliquid-form to be strictly "demonic" for purposes of the bow. And either way, it's only really THAT powerful in a battle like what they're facing in 148, with a lot of demons around; it's powerful and worthwhile, to be sure, but not overpowered. In any event, there are lots of weapons with passive skills like this; I have three (one that doubles my WP against humanoids, and another that does the same against Flying-type enemies, as well as one I can't currently use that grants a 50-50 chance to Flee battle instead of being KO'd), and everyone who completed 104 had one as well (in the form of the Rito weapons that double WP against Flying-type enemies). This bow is similar, only it adds WP based on total number of demons in battle rather than doubling against a single target; again, more powerful than the former, but still not OP. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 For K-Nut, I was thinking more of the ethereal part since he is more of a ghost (in my head anyways). Flipz, most of the stuff you mentioned is more of the stuff being "super effective" against something. The bow seems to make the enemies stronger (unless I am missing something again). Quote

No, no, the bow itself gets stronger based on how many demons are in the battle. It works almost exactly the same way the Immortal Essence in 147 does, just for demons specifically instead of all enemies. Quote

Sandy Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 Can Double Damage to X multipliers stack, if they're part of gear? (E.g.: Generic Bodywear(Bodywear, x2 against Beasts), Generic Helmet(Helmet, x2 against Beasts) - would that grant x4 against Beasts, or just x2?) Artifacts shouldn't have that kind of damage multipliers to begin with. As far as I remember, I've always put those kind of effects into weapons. But as the FAQ says, artifacts with same or similar abilities do not stack, so that combo would only grant 2x multiplier against beasts. I am going to bring this up again, because it looks like it is going to be out in the wild. That weapon seems like a bad idea to use in the right/wrong situation. Unless it is just going to get sold. Or some how get in The Demon Germ's hands. You are just somehow reading it wrong. The only thing that increases is the bow's power. So if there is a battle against 10 demonic enemies, the bow will temporarily become WP:20 (10 base + 10 bonus). There's nothing overpowered there... Quote

Their was a question a while a go about an artifact that took up three slots. Now the Quest Master was telling me I was to low of a level to wear the artifact. But, I was thinking it would only take up only one slot (I don't think it help that the Quest Master disappeared shortly after wards). Quote

Asphalt Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Some artifacts take up more than one slot, but only count as one artifact. It would depend on how it was designed. Quote
Palathadric Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 I believe it was designed to take up three artifact places as the Quest Master told you. However, since I think all of us agreed at the time that such a rule rendered the artifact almost entirely useless, I would say that you can go ahead and equip it with it just taking up the specified artifact slots without diminishing the number of artifacts you can equip. I wanted to hear something from Sandy or PJB. (I just ended up just selling the thing off, out of some sort of annoyance.) By the way, I liked how you quoted that: I'm a dummy. Like you are agreeing with me. Quote
