But the undead can only be hurt by Elemental attacks. And from the looks of it "Boris's Healing" is the only thing going to hurt them (undead). Clerics for the win! Hence why Boris is going to need his staff to keep his Ether reserves high. Alternatively, we may have enough Bombs and Potions throughout the Party, but it's definitely going to be a slog. Quote
Mencot Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Some of the weapons in the corner will help out but I guess I had a wrong assumption about zombies. I had the assumption that you can attack with regular weapons when they are undead/humanoid. But guess I was wrong... But I think you will manage, you are a tough crowd... Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) So Siercon started as a mage, and became a battle mage. Ether has always been apart of his sats. upon choosing a non magic related expert class like winged warrior, does my ether disappear, become useless, or is only useful for attackless actions. I was sortof picturing a magic person turned winged warrior being able to do magical actions like read a scroll (cast blindness etc), or use a scroll of disguise, but not having their ether/magic affect their new set of actual standard non magic 1-6 battle attacks. Is this correct? Edited January 26, 2017 by Siercon and Coral Quote

I believe it becomes useless. You still have it but you won't use it. But if you go back into a class that use "either" it comes back into play. (I hope that helps.) Quote
Palathadric Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Ether comes and goes with the class. Monk Pretzel was a Cleric. Now that he's an Artisan, he doesn't have ether anymore. If he becomes a Cleric again, his ether will magically reappear. Quote

Siercon and Coral Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Thanks everyone! Yeah, I'm finding that Sandy was very detailed and literally wrote in the weapons category of each class if they can use scrolls. Quote
MysticModulus Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Does anyone know the rules concerning which weapons one can rwtrieve gems from? I know that I can retrieve gems from weapons if I've inserted them in the first place but about weapons with magical properties? I have a staff with wind-damage, is the source of that a retrievable gem or just inert magic? Quote
Palathadric Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 It is retrievable unless it specifically says otherwise. Quote

samurai-turtle Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I got a question about this item. Winter Shield (SP:10, absorb ice but take double damage from fire; shield) If I put a "fire gem" (ruby) in this shield will it get "rid" of it's fire weakness? Quote

Zepher, JimBee, or Sandy are free to disagree/correct me, I would rule that a Ruby would counteract the shield's weakness however it would not provide "Immunity to Fire". Quote
Asphalt Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 At best I would say remove the weakness, but since that vulnerability is a part of that shields build I would say a ruling from the bosses would be needed on bot the effect and whether or not it is mergable to begin with. Quote

I do not see why not. If I put the Ruby in any other shield it would get the "immunity to fire". It is not like I am trying to hide the fire weakness and I stated their is a "ruby" installed in the shield. And I guess this brings up another question, is it to late to change my "marketplace" post? Quote
Asphalt Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 But when you add a gem to get the immunity you aren't dealing with an in place deficit. You shield starts in the hole against fire so to speak. If allowed the ruby would only fill the hole and bring it up to standard defense. Quote

Just to avoid any problems or confusion I edited the post. To change where the Ruby goes into (I put into the armor). That should still give me the "immune to fire" that I need. And I hope that is all right! Quote

swils Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) The actual interaction is still in need of ruling, I believe. Putting the ruby in a different piece of equipment would have the same net effect on your character as if you had put it into the shield, if you have both the ruby-infused equipment and the weak-to-fire shield equipped at the same time. Palathadric Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) I would say it's like Hybros' Golden Armour. But I guess that doesn't have the weakness/immunity issue. Edited January 31, 2017 by Palathadric Quote

Whether the ruby is in the armor or the shield the result is the same. I'd rule you can attain "Fire Immunity" if you were to have a ruby embeded in both your shield and the armor. Quote
MysticModulus Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I'm considering buying the "Bad Luck Charm" for Ezeran but I wonder how the extra ether cost is calculated, take Razzmatazz for example. If it hits say 5 enemies, is the total ether cost then 5 times 2 (=10) or 5+1 (=6)? It makes a huge difference to an ether pool... Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 It's 5*2 so yes it does put a big strain on ether reserves. Quote
