Waterbrick Down Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Haha, aren't you ever the rebel? So you're saying that you'd happily have the second character know Skrall IF it wasn't mandatory? I just meant that if I want my secondary character to know Skrall from a previous encounter, then I want to do it of my own free will. I'm like Kintober, if I want extra character baggage I'll choose to pick it up, but I want to be the one choosing to do so, that's all. Just my point of view. I'll play by the standard already set, but we should keep in mind that if someone wants to create a "void" secondary character it's as easy as saying that the random "nobody aspiring to become somebody" happened to share a few drinks with our current character at some indeterminate point in the past. Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Easy for Endgame, he's related to all the heroes. Quote

Look, if you really think this limitation is too much for people to handle, then we can just cancel anyone getting a second character altogether. The whole concept was initially made to reward people who have dedicated their time and energy to this game. Looking a gift horse in the mouth is considered quite rude in my opinion... Quote

I don't think it's too much to handle, just expressing an opinion and expressing a concern of how the present system could be abused, that's all. I'm thankful that we can have a second character and am fully intending on playing my character in the way you envision secondary characters contributing to the RPG. Quote

I don't think it's too much to handle, just expressing an opinion and expressing a concern of how the present system could be abused, that's all. I hear you, and I thank you for being a concerned citizen, but let's just tackle this beast when someone actually hits the required level, okay? Quote

Sounds good, thanks for being a level-headed game designer open to outside thoughts. So is it official that secondary characters are open at Level 40, or are we going to wait another 3 years. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Let's put it this way: the connection has to have been formed before the second character is introduced as a player character, but the two characters don't have to be in contact with each other right at that exact moment. But we don't need to hear about the second character at all before he shows up at the hall, do we? Quote
Sandy Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 But we don't need to hear about the second character at all before he shows up at the hall, do we? No, but the connection has to already be established (storywise) when he arrives. He can't just bump into, say, Monk Pretzel at the door and be connected to him that way. Can we put an end to this discussion now? This shouldn't be rocket science that we're dealing with here, so please don't make it sound that hard. Quote
posades Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Just read the important announcement; it mentioned a change to the Hunter rolls. What changes took place there, is it a more powerful Shield roll and less powerful Aim? Quote

CMP Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Remind me, does Confused affect scrolls being used against an enemy? Quote
Sandy Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Remind me, does Confused affect scrolls being used against an enemy? Confused affects everything you do, whether it's attacking, healing, or using items. You always have 1/2 chance for the action to be directed at the wrong side when you're confused. Quote

I thought it was only for attacks versus the enemy to be used on allies. Dang. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Think using it against yourself should not fall under the rule. Even if confused, can't picture someone forcing someone else to drink something instead of drinking it themselves. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Let me get this straight. The entirety of Rogue classes have been nerfed to stop a lot of gold gaining, but the Artisan can get anywhere from 100 to 600 gold in one hit? Quote
Kintobor Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 (edited) Yeah, that's way too much. If anything, it should be 1-6 x10. I'd be fine with that, but as it stands, it's the only fault with the class. Other than that, the new changes are fine to the class. Edited July 27, 2013 by Kintobor Quote
Zepher Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 There is a 1/216 chance of getting 600 gold though. I also thought it was a little high, but let's see how often it actually happens. Quote

Oh please, it's an Expert Class Shield-skill - and one option out of six! Besides, getting 100-600 gold is all that roll does, while the Rogue-classes can damage or stun or even kill while also gaining gold. You can't possibly feel slighted about that. Quote
Endgame Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I think a 1/216 chance is plenty fair, considering Rogues can still make a good 100 gold per shield if the enemies have gold on them. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 True, but its I just worry how many QM's are going to have enemies that drop gold. Quote
Sandy Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 True, but its I just worry how many QM's are going to have enemies that drop gold. Which is related to the Artisan class how exactly? Seriously, we had this discussion already, and you made your opinion loud and clear then. The majority was in favor of the rule change, so now we'll live with that for the time being. Quote
Scorpiox Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 True, but its I just worry how many QM's are going to have enemies that drop gold. I guarantee that every QM who is planning to host over the next indeterminate time period will be aware of this change, and so make sure that rouges are provided with enough opportunities to steal.
